1 « Or quando entrerai nel paese, che l'Eterno, il tuo DIO, ti dà in eredità, e lo possederai e vi abiterai,

`And it hath been, when thou comest in unto the land which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee -- an inheritance, and thou hast possessed it, and dwelt in it,

2 p renderai alcune delle primizie di tutti i frutti del suolo da te raccolti nel paese che l'Eterno, il tuo DIO, ti dà, le metterai in un paniere e andrai al luogo che l'Eterno, il tuo DIO, ha scelto per farvi dimorare il suo nome.

that thou hast taken of the first of all the fruits of the ground which thou dost bring in out of thy land which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee, and hast put in a basket, and gone unto the place which Jehovah thy God doth choose to cause His name to tabernacle there.

3 T i presenterai quindi al sacerdote in carica in quei giorni e gli dirai: "lo dichiaro oggi all'Eterno, il tuo DIO, di essere entrato nel paese che l'Eterno giurò ai nostri padri di darci".

`And thou hast come in unto the priest who is in those days, and hast said unto him, I have declared to-day to Jehovah thy God, that I have come in unto the land which Jehovah hath sworn to our fathers to give to us;

4 A llora il sacerdote prenderà il paniere dalle tue mani e lo deporrà davanti all'altare dell'Eterno, il tuo DIO;

and the priest hath taken the basket out of thy hand, and placed it before the altar of Jehovah thy God.

5 e tu rispondendo dirai davanti all'Eterno, il tuo DIO: "Mio padre era un Arameo sul punto di morire; egli scese in Egitto e vi dimorò come straniero con poca gente, e là diventò una nazione grande, potente e numerosa.

`And thou hast answered and said before Jehovah thy God, A perishing Aramaean my father! and he goeth down to Egypt, and sojourneth there with few men, and becometh there a nation, great, mighty, and numerous;

6 M a gli Egiziani ci maltrattarono, ci oppressero e ci imposero una dura schiavitú.

and the Egyptians do us evil, and afflict us, and put on us hard service;

7 A llora gridammo all'Eterno, il DIO dei nostri padri, e l'Eterno udì la nostra voce, vide la nostra afflizione, il nostro duro lavoro e la nostra oppressione.

and we cry unto Jehovah, God of our fathers, and Jehovah heareth our voice, and seeth our affliction, and our labour, and our oppression;

8 C osì l'Eterno ci fece uscire dall'Egitto con potente mano e con braccio steso, con cose spaventose e con prodigi e segni;

and Jehovah bringeth us out from Egypt, by a strong hand, and by a stretched-out arm, and by great fear, and by signs, and by wonders,

9 c i ha poi condotti in questo luogo e ci ha dato questo paese, paese dove scorre latte e miele.

and he bringeth us in unto this place, and giveth to us this land -- a land flowing with milk and honey.

10 E d ora, ecco, io ho portato le primizie dei frutti del suolo che tu, o Eterno, mi hai dato!". Le deporrai quindi davanti all'Eterno, il tuo DIO, e ti prostrerai davanti all'Eterno, il tuo DIO;

`And now, lo, I have brought in the first of the fruits of the ground which thou hast given to me, O Jehovah; -- and thou hast placed it before Jehovah thy God, and bowed thyself before Jehovah thy God,

11 e gioirai, tu, il Levita e lo straniero che è in mezzo a te, per tutte le cose buone che l'Eterno, il tuo DIO, ha dato a te e alla tua casa.

and rejoiced in all the good which Jehovah thy God hath given to thee, and to thy house, thou, and the Levite, and the sojourner who in thy midst.

12 Q uando hai terminato di dare tutte le decime delle tue entrate nel terzo anno, l'anno delle decime, e le hai date al Levita, allo straniero, all'orfano e alla vedova, perché ne mangino entro le tue porte e siano saziati,

`When thou dost complete to tithe all the tithe of thine increase in the third year, the year of the tithe, then thou hast given to the Levite, to the sojourner, to the fatherless, and to the widow, and they have eaten within thy gates, and been satisfied,

13 d irai davanti all'Eterno, il tuo DIO: "lo ho tolto dalla mia casa ciò che è consacrato, e l'ho dato al Levita, allo straniero, all'orfano e alla vedova, in base a tutto ciò che mi hai comandato; non ho trasgredito né dimenticato alcuno dei tuoi comandamenti.

and thou hast said before Jehovah thy God, I have put away the separated thing out of the house, and also have given it to the Levite, and to the sojourner, and to the orphan, and to the widow, according to all Thy command which Thou hast commanded me; I have not passed over from Thy commands, nor have I forgotten.

14 N on ne ho mangiato durante il mio lutto, non ne ho preso quando ero impuro e non ne ho offerto ai morti; ho ubbidito alla voce dell'Eterno, il mio DIO e ho fatto in base a tutto ciò che mi hai comandato.

I have not eaten in mine affliction of it, nor have I put away of it for uncleanness, nor have I given of it for the dead; I have hearkened to the voice of Jehovah my God; I have done according to all that Thou hast commanded me;

15 V olgi a noi lo sguardo dalla tua santa dimora, dal cielo, e benedici il tuo popolo d'Israele e il paese che ci hai dato, come giurasti ai nostri padri, un paese dove scorre latte e miele".

look from Thy holy habitation, from the heavens, and bless Thy people Israel, and the ground which Thou hast given to us, as Thou hast sworn to our fathers -- a land flowing milk and honey.

16 O ggi l'Eterno, il tuo DIO, ti comanda di mettere in pratica questi statuti e questi decreti; abbi dunque cura di metterli in pratica con tutto il tuo cuore e con tutta la tua anima.

`This day Jehovah thy God is commanding thee to do these statutes and judgments; and thou hast hearkened and done them with all thy heart, and with all thy soul,

17 T u oggi hai dichiarato che l'Eterno è il tuo DIO, che camminerai nelle sue vie e osserverai i suoi statuti, i suoi comandamenti e i suoi decreti, e che ubbidirai alla sua voce.

Jehovah thou hast caused to promise to-day to become thy God, and to walk in His ways, and to keep His statutes, and His commands, and His judgments, and to hearken to His voice.

18 O ggi l'Eterno ha pure dichiarato che tu sei il suo popolo, un tesoro particolare, come ti ha detto, perché tu osservi tutti i suoi comandamenti,

`And Jehovah hath caused thee to promise to-day to become His people, a peculiar treasure, as He hath spoken to thee, and to keep all His commands;

19 e perché ti possa innalzare al di sopra di tutte le nazioni che ha fatto per lode, fama e gloria e perché tu possa essere un popolo consacrato all'Eterno, il tuo DIO, come egli ha detto».

so as to make thee uppermost above all the nations whom He hath made for a praise, and for a name, and for beauty, and for thy being a holy people to Jehovah thy God, as He hath spoken.
