1 A llora il popolo del paese prese Jehoahaz, figlio di Giosia, e lo fece re a Gerusalemme al posto di suo padre.

And the people of the land take Jehoahaz son of Josiah, and cause him to reign instead of his father in Jerusalem.

2 J ehoahaz aveva ventitre anni quando iniziò a regnare, e regnò tre mesi a Gerusalemme.

A son of three and twenty years Jehoahaz in his reigning, and three months he hath reigned in Jerusalem,

3 I l re d'Egitto lo depose a Gerusalemme, e impose al paese una multa di cento talenti d'argento e di un talento d'oro.

and turn him aside doth the king of Egypt in Jerusalem, and fineth the land a hundred talents of silver, and a talent of gold;

4 Q uindi il re d'Egitto fece re su Giuda e Gerusalemme suo fratello Eliakim, a cui cambiò il nome in Jehoiakim. Neko prese invece suo fratello Jehoahaz e lo condusse in Egitto.

and the king of Egypt causeth Eliakim his brother to reign over Judah and Jerusalem, and turneth his name to Jehoiakim; and Jehoahaz his brother hath Necho taken, and bringeth him in to Egypt.

5 J ehoiakim aveva venticinque anni quando iniziò a regnare, e regnò undici anni a Gerusalemme. Egli fece ciò che è male agli occhi dell'Eterno, il suo DIO.

A son of twenty and five years Jehoiakim in his reigning, and eleven years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah his God;

6 N ebukadnetsar, re di Babilonia, salí contro di lui e lo legò con catene di bronzo per condurlo a Babilonia.

against him hath Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon come up, and bindeth him in brazen fetters to take him away to Babylon.

7 N ebukadnetsar portò pure a Babilonia parte degli oggetti della casa dell'Eterno e li mise nel suo palazzo a Babilonia.

And of the vessels of the house of Jehovah hath Nebuchadnezzar brought in to Babylon, and putteth them in his temple in Babylon.

8 I l resto delle gesta di Jehoiakim, le abominazioni che commise e tutto ciò che fu trovato contro di lui, ecco, sono scritte nel libro dei re d'Israele e di Giuda. Al suo posto regnò suo figlio Jehoiakin.

And the rest of the matters of Jehoiakim, and his abominations that he hath done, and that which is found against him, lo, they are written on the book of the kings of Israel and Judah, and reign doth Jehoiachin his son in his stead.

9 J ehoiakin aveva otto anni quando iniziò a regnare e regnò tre mesi e dieci giorni a Gerusalemme. Egli fece ciò che è male agli occhi dell'Eterno.

A son of eight years is Jehoiachin in his reigning, and three months and ten days he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah;

10 A ll'inizio del nuovo anno il re Nebukadnetsar mandò a prenderlo e lo fece condurre a Babilonia con gli oggetti preziosi della casa dell'Eterno, Quindi fece re su Giuda e Gerusalemme Sedekia, fratello di Jehoiakin.

and at the turn of the year hath king Nebuchadnezzar sent and bringeth him in to Babylon, with the desirable vessels of the house of Jehovah, and causeth Zedekiah his brother to reign over Judah and Jerusalem.

11 S edekia aveva ventun anni quando iniziò a regnare, e regnò a Gerusalemme undici anni

A son of twenty and one years Zedekiah in his reigning, and eleven years he hath reigned in Jerusalem;

12 A nch'egli fece ciò che è male agli occhi dell'Eterno, il suo DIO, e non si umiliò davanti al profeta Geremia, che parlava da parte dell'Eterno,

and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah his God, he hath not been humbled before Jeremiah the prophet from the mouth of Jehovah;

13 S i ribellò pure contro il re Nebukadnetsar, che lo aveva fatto giurare in nome di DIO; ma egli irrigidí la sua cervice e indurí il suo cuore rifiutandosi di fare ritorno all'Eterno, il DIO d'Israele.

and also, against king Nebuchadnezzar he hath rebelled, who had caused him to swear by God, and he hardeneth his neck, and strengtheneth his heart, against turning back unto Jehovah, God of Israel.

14 A nche tutti i capi dei sacerdoti e il popolo peccarono sempre di piú seguendo tutte le abominazioni delle nazioni e contaminarono la casa dell'Eterno, che egli aveva santificato a Gerusalemme.

Also, all the heads of the priests, and the people, having multiplied to commit a trespass according to all the abominations of the nations, and they defile the house of Jehovah that He hath sanctified in Jerusalem.

15 L 'Eterno, il DIO dei loro padri, mandò loro, fin dall'inizio e con insistenza, avvertimenti per mezzo dei suoi messaggeri, perché voleva risparmiare il suo popolo e la sua dimora.

And Jehovah, God of their fathers, sendeth unto them by the hand of His messengers -- rising early and sending -- for He hath had pity on His people, and on His habitation,

16 M a essi si beffarono dei messaggeri di DIO, disprezzarono le sue parole e schernirono i suoi profeti, finché l'ira dell'Eterno contro il suo popolo raggiunse un punto in cui non c'era piú rimedio.

and they are mocking at the messengers of God, and despising His words, and acting deceitfully with His prophets, till the going up of the fury of Jehovah against His people -- till there is no healing.

17 A llora egli fece salire contro di loro il re dei Caldei, che uccise di spada i loro giovani nella casa del loro santuario, senza avere pietà per il giovane, la vergine, l'anziano, o la persona canuta. L'Eterno li diede tutti nelle sue mani.

And He causeth to go up against them the king of the Chaldeans, and he slayeth their chosen ones by the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and hath had no pity on young man and virgin, old man and very aged -- the whole He hath given into his hand.

18 N ebukadnetsar portò a Babilonia tutti gli oggetti della casa di DIO, grandi e piccoli, i tesori della casa dell'Eterno e i tesori del re e dei suoi capi.

And all the vessels of the house of God, the great and the small, and the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the king and of his princes -- the whole he hath brought in to Babylon.

19 P oi incendiarono la casa di DIO, demolirono le mura di Gerusalemme, diedero alle fiamme tutti i suoi palazzi e ne distrussero tutti gli oggetti di valore.

And they burn the house of God, and break down the wall of Jerusalem, and all its palaces they have burnt with fire, and all its desirable vessels -- to destruction.

20 I noltre Nebukadnetsar, deportò a Babilonia quelli che erano scampati alla spada essi divennero servitori suoi e dei suoi figli, fino all'avvento del regno di Persia,

And he removeth those left of the sword unto Babylon, and they are to him and to his sons for servants, till the reigning of the kingdom of Persia,

21 a ffinché si adempisse la parola dell'Eterno pronunciata per bocca di Geremia, finché il paese avesse osservato i suoi sabati, Infatti esso osservò il sabato per tutto il tempo della sua desolazione finché furono compiuti i settant'anni.

to fulfil the word of Jehovah in the mouth of Jeremiah, till the land hath enjoyed its sabbaths; all the days of the desolation it kept sabbath -- to the fulness of seventy years.

22 N el primo anno di Ciro, re di Persia, affinché si adempisse la parola dell'Eterno pronunciata per la bocca di Geremia, l'Eterno destò lo spirito di Ciro, re di Persia, perché facesse un editto per tutto il suo regno e lo mettesse per scritto, dicendo:

And in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, at the completion of the word of Jehovah in the mouth of Jeremiah, hath Jehovah waked up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, and he causeth an intimation to pass over into all his kingdom, and also in writing, saying,

23 « Così dice Ciro, re di Persia; L'Eterno, il DIO dei cieli, mi ha dato tutti i regni della terra. Egli mi ha comandato di costruirgli una casa in Gerusalemme, che è in Giuda. Chi di voi appartiene al suo popolo? L'Eterno, il suo DIO, sia con lui e parta!».

`Thus said Cyrus king of Persia, All kingdoms of the earth hath Jehovah, God of the heavens, given to me, and He hath laid a charge on me to build to Him a house in Jerusalem, that in Judah; who is among you of all His people? Jehovah his God with him, and he doth go up.'
