1 P oi Mosè parlò ai capi delle tribù dei figli d'Israele, dicendo: «Questo è ciò che l'Eterno ha ordinato:

And Moses speaketh unto the heads of the tribes of the sons of Israel, saying, `This the thing which Jehovah hath commanded:

2 " Quando uno fa un voto all'Eterno o contrae un'obbligazione con giuramento, non violerà la sua parola, ma farà tutto ciò che è uscito dalla sua bocca.

`When a man voweth a vow to Jehovah, or hath sworn an oath to bind a bond on his soul, he doth not pollute his word; according to all that is going out from his mouth he doth.

3 Q uando una donna fa un voto all'Eterno e si lega con un'obbligazione mentre è ancora in casa del padre, durante la sua giovinezza,

`And when a woman voweth a vow to Jehovah, and hath bound a bond in the house of her father in her youth,

4 s e il padre saputo del suo voto e dell'obbligazione a cui si è legata, non dice nulla in merito, tutti i suoi voti rimarranno validi e rimarranno valide tutte le obbligazioni a cui si è legata.

and her father hath heard her vow, and her bond which she hath bound on her soul, and her father hath kept silent at her, then have all her vows been established, and every bond which she hath bound on her soul is established.

5 M a se il padre, il giorno che viene a saperlo, le si oppone, tutti i suoi voti e tutte le obbligazioni a cui si è legata, non saranno validi; e l'Eterno la perdonerà, perché il padre le si è opposto.

`And if her father hath disallowed her in the day of his hearing, none of her vows and her bonds which she hath bound on her soul is established, and Jehovah is propitious to her, for her father hath disallowed her.

6 S e dovesse invece maritarsi mentre è legata dai voti o da una obbligazione contratta sconsideratamente con le proprie labbra,

`And if she be at all to a husband, and her vows on her, or a wrongful utterance her lips, which she hath bound on her soul,

7 s e il marito lo sa e il giorno che viene a saperlo non dice nulla in merito, i suoi voti rimarranno validi e rimarranno valide le obbligazioni a cui si è legata.

and her husband hath heard, and in the day of his hearing, he hath kept silent at her, then have her vows been established, and her bonds which she hath bound on her soul are established.

8 M a se il marito, il giorno che viene a saperlo le si oppone, egli annullerà il voto che ella ha fatto e l'obbligazione contratta sconsideratamente con le proprie labbra; e l'Eterno la perdonerà.

`And if in the day of her husband's hearing he disalloweth her, then he hath broken her vow which on her, and the wrongful utterance of her lips which she hath bound on her soul, and Jehovah is propitious to her.

9 M a il voto di una vedova o di una donna ripudiata, qualunque sia l'obbligazione a cui si è legata, rimarrà valido.

`As to the vow of a widow or cast-out woman, all that she hath bound on her soul is established on her.

10 S e ella fa un voto nella casa di suo marito, o ha contratto un'obbligazione con giuramento,

`And if the house of her husband she hath vowed, or hath bound a bond on her soul with an oath,

11 e il marito lo ha saputo, se il marito non dice nulla in merito e non le si oppone, tutti i suoi voti rimarranno validi e rimarranno valide tutte le obbligazioni a cui si è legata.

and her husband hath heard, and hath kept silent at her -- he hath not disallowed her -- then have all her vows been established, and every bond which she hath bound on her soul is established.

12 M a se il marito, il giorno che viene a saperlo li annulla, tutto ciò che è uscito dalle labbra, siano voti obbligazioni a cui si è legata, non sarà valido il marito li ha annullati; e l'Eterno la perdonerà.

`And if her husband doth certainly break them in the day of his hearing, none of the outgoing of her lips concerning her vows, or concerning the bond of her soul, is established -- her husband hath broken them -- and Jehovah is propitious to her.

13 I l marito può confermare e il marito può annullare qualunque voto e qualunque giuramento vincolante, che mira a mortificare la sua persona.

`Every vow and every oath -- a bond to humble a soul -- her husband doth establish it, or her husband doth break it;

14 M a se il marito, giorno dopo giorno, non dice nulla in merito, egli conferma in questo modo tutti i suoi voti e tutte le obbligazioni a cui si è legata; li conferma, perché non ha detto nulla in merito il giorno che è venuto a saperlo.

and if her husband certainly keep silent at her, from day unto day, then he hath established all her vows, or all her bonds which upon her; he hath established them, for he hath kept silent at her in the day of his hearing;

15 M a se li annulla dopo averlo saputo, porterà il peso del peccato della moglie"».

and if he doth at all break them after his hearing, then he hath borne her iniquity.'

16 Q uesti sono gli statuti che l'Eterno prescrisse a Mosè, in merito alle relazioni tra marito e moglie, e tra padre e figlia, mentre ella è ancora fanciulla in casa di suo padre.

These the statutes which Jehovah hath commanded Moses between a man and his wife, between a father and his daughter, in her youth, the house of her father.
