1 T hose who trust in, lean on, and confidently hope in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides and stands fast forever.

A Song of the Ascents. Those trusting in Jehovah as Mount Zion, It is not moved -- to the age it abideth.

2 A s the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about His people from this time forth and forever.

Jerusalem! mountains round about her, And Jehovah round about His people, From henceforth even unto the age.

3 F or the scepter of wickedness shall not rest upon the land of the righteous, lest the righteous (God’s people) stretch forth their hands to iniquity and apostasy.

For the rod of wickedness resteth not On the lot of the righteous, That the righteous put not forth on iniquity their hands.

4 D o good, O Lord, to those who are good, and to those who are right in their hearts.

Do good, O Jehovah, to the good, And to the upright in their hearts.

5 A s for such as turn aside to their crooked ways, the Lord will lead them forth with the workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel!

As to those turning their crooked ways, Jehovah causeth them to go with workers of iniquity. Peace on Israel!
