1 T his is the history of the generations (descendants) of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. The sons born to them after the flood were:

And these births of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth; and born to them are sons after the deluge.

2 T he sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

`Sons of Japheth Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.

3 T he sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.

And sons of Gomer Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

4 T he sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

And sons of Javan Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

5 F rom these the coastland peoples spread. in their lands, each with his own language, by their families within their nations.

By these have the isles of the nations been parted in their lands, each by his tongue, by their families, in their nations.

6 T he sons of Ham: Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan.

And sons of Ham Cush, and Mitzraim, and Phut, and Canaan.

7 T he sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca; and the sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.

And sons of Cush Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtechah; and sons of Raamah Sheba and Dedan.

8 C ush became the father of Nimrod; he was the first to be a mighty man on the earth.

And Cush hath begotten Nimrod;

9 H e was a mighty hunter before the Lord; therefore it is said, Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the Lord.

he hath begun to be a hero in the land; he hath been a hero in hunting before Jehovah; therefore it is said, `As Nimrod the hero hunting before Jehovah.'

10 T he beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

And the first part of his kingdom is Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar;

11 O ut of the land he went forth into Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah,

from that land he hath gone out to Asshur, and buildeth Nineveh, even the broad places of the city, and Calah,

12 A nd Resen, which is between Nineveh and Calah; all these the great city.

and Resen, between Nineveh and Calah; it the great city.

13 A nd Egypt became the father of Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim,

And Mitzraim hath begotten the Ludim, and the Anamim, and the Lehabim, and the Naphtuhim,

14 P athrusim, Casluhim (from whom came the Philistines), and Caphtorim.

and the Pathrusim, and the Casluhim, (whence have come out Philistim,) and the Caphtorim.

15 C anaan became the father of Sidon his firstborn, Heth,

And Canaan hath begotten Sidon his first-born, and Heth,

16 T he Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites,

and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,

17 T he Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites,

and the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,

18 T he Arvadites, the Zemarites and the Hamathites. Afterward the families of the Canaanites spread abroad

and the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite; and afterwards have the families of the Canaanite been scattered.

19 A nd the territory of the Canaanites extended from Sidon as one goes to Gerar as far as Gaza, and as one goes to Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.

And the border of the Canaanite is from Sidon, thy coming towards Gerar, unto Gaza; thy coming towards Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, unto Lasha.

20 T hese are the sons of Ham by their families, their languages, their lands, and their nations.

These sons of Ham, by their families, by their tongues, in their lands, in their nations.

21 T o Shem also, the younger brother of Japheth and the ancestor of all the children of Eber, children were born.

As to Shem, father of all sons of Eber, brother of Japheth the elder, he hath also begotten:

22 T he sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram.

Sons of Shem Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.

23 T he sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash.

And sons of Aram Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.

24 A rpachshad became the father of Shelah; and Shelah became the father of Eber.

And Arphaxad hath begotten Salah, and Salah hath begotten Eber.

25 T o Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg, because the earth were divided up in his days; and his brother’s name was Joktan.

And to Eber have two sons been born; the name of the one Peleg (for in his days hath the earth been divided,) and his brother's name Joktan.

26 J oktan became the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,

And Joktan hath begotten Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,

27 H adoram, Uzal, Diklah,

and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,

28 O bal, Abimael, Sheba,

and Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,

29 O phir, Havilah, and Jobab; all these were the sons of Joktan.

and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab; all these sons of Joktan;

30 T he territory in which they lived extended from Mesha as one goes toward Sephar to the hill country of the east.

and their dwelling is from Mesha, thy coming towards Sephar, a mount of the east.

31 T hese are Shem’s descendants by their families, their languages, their lands, and their nations.

These sons of Shem, by their families, by their tongues, in their lands, by their nations.

32 T hese are the families of the sons of Noah, according to their generations, within their nations; and from these the nations spread abroad on the earth after the flood.

These families of the sons of Noah, by their births, in their nations, and by these have the nations been parted in the earth after the deluge.
