1 T his is the history of the generations (descendants) of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. The sons born to them after the flood were:

Por estes foram repartidas as ilhas das nações nas suas terras, cada qual segundo a sua língua, segundo as suas famílias, entre as suas nações.

6 T he sons of Ham: Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan.

Os filhos de Cão: Cuche, Mizraim, Pute e Canaã.

7 T he sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca; and the sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.

Os filhos de Cuche: Seba, Havilá, Sabtá, Raamá e Sabtecá; e os filhos de Raamá são Sebá e Dedã.

8 C ush became the father of Nimrod; he was the first to be a mighty man on the earth.

Cuche também gerou a Ninrode, o qual foi o primeiro a ser poderoso na terra.

11 O ut of the land he went forth into Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah,

12 A nd Resen, which is between Nineveh and Calah; all these the great city.

16 T he Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites,

18 T he Arvadites, the Zemarites and the Hamathites. Afterward the families of the Canaanites spread abroad

19 A nd the territory of the Canaanites extended from Sidon as one goes to Gerar as far as Gaza, and as one goes to Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.

Foi o termo dos cananeus desde Sidom, em direção a Gerar, até Gaza; e daí em direção a Sodoma, Gomorra, Admá e Zeboim, até Lasa.

20 T hese are the sons of Ham by their families, their languages, their lands, and their nations.

São esses os filhos de Cão segundo as suas famílias, segundo as suas línguas, em suas terras, em suas nações.

21 T o Shem also, the younger brother of Japheth and the ancestor of all the children of Eber, children were born.

A Sem, que foi o pai de todos os filhos de Eber e irmão mais velho de Jafé, a ele também nasceram filhos.

22 T he sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram.
