1 G od is our Refuge and Strength, a very present and well-proved help in trouble.

4 T here is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.

Há um rio cujas correntes alegram a cidade de Deus, o lugar santo das moradas do Altíssimo.

5 G od is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God will help her right early.

Bramam nações, reinos se abalam; ele levanta a sua voz, e a terra se derrete.

7 T he Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our Refuge (our Fortress and High Tower). Selah!

O Senhor dos exércitos está conosco; o Deus de Jacó é o nosso refúgio.

8 C ome, behold the works of the Lord, Who has wrought desolations and wonders in the earth.

Vinde contemplai as obras do Senhor, as desolações que tem feito na terra.

9 H e makes wars to cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow into pieces and snaps the spear in two; He burns the chariots in the fire.

Ele faz cessar as guerras até os confins da terra; quebra o arco e corta a lança; queima os carros no fogo.

10 L et be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth!

Aquietai-vos, e sabei que eu sou Deus; sou exaltado entre as nações, sou exaltado na terra.
