1 M y God, my God, why have You forsaken me? Why are You so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning?

Deus meu, Deus meu, por que me desamparaste? por que estás afastado de me auxiliar, e das palavras do meu bramido?

2 O my God, I cry in the daytime, but You answer not; and by night I am not silent or find no rest.

Deus meu, eu clamo de dia, porém tu não me ouves; também de noite, mas não acho sossego.

3 B ut You are holy, O You Who dwell in the praises of Israel.

Contudo tu és santo, entronizado sobre os louvores de Israel.

4 O ur fathers trusted in You; they trusted (leaned on, relied on You, and were confident) and You delivered them.

Em ti confiaram nossos pais; confiaram, e tu os livraste.

5 T hey cried to You and were delivered; they trusted in, leaned on, and confidently relied on You, and were not ashamed or confounded or disappointed.

A ti clamaram, e foram salvos; em ti confiaram, e não foram confundidos.

6 B ut I am a worm, and no man; I am the scorn of men, and despised by the people.

Mas eu sou verme, e não homem; opróbrio dos homens e desprezado do povo.

7 A ll who see me laugh at me and mock me; they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

Todos os que me vêem zombam de mim, arreganham os beiços e meneiam a cabeça, dizendo:

8 H e trusted and rolled himself on the Lord, that He would deliver him. Let Him deliver him, seeing that He delights in him!

Confiou no Senhor; que ele o livre; que ele o salve, pois que nele tem prazer.

9 Y et You are He Who took me out of the womb; You made me hope and trust when I was on my mother’s breasts.

Mas tu és o que me tiraste da madre; o que me preservaste, estando eu ainda aos seios de minha mãe.

10 I was cast upon You from my very birth; from my mother’s womb You have been my God.

Nos teus braços fui lançado desde a madre; tu és o meu Deus desde o ventre de minha mãe.

11 B e not far from me, for trouble is near and there is none to help.

Não te alongues de mim, pois a angústia está perto, e não há quem acuda.

12 M any bulls have surrounded me; strong bulls of Bashan have hedged me in.

Muitos touros me cercam; fortes touros de Basã me rodeiam.

13 A gainst me they opened their mouths wide, like a ravening and roaring lion.

Abrem contra mim sua boca, como um leão que despedaça e que ruge.

14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax; it is softened and melted down within me.

Como água me derramei, e todos os meus ossos se desconjuntaram; o meu coração é como cera, derreteu-se no meio das minhas entranhas.

15 M y strength is dried up like a fragment of clay pottery; my tongue cleaves to my jaws; and You have brought me into the dust of death.

A minha força secou-se como um caco e a língua se me pega ao paladar; tu me puseste no pó da morte.

16 F or dogs they have encompassed me; a company of evildoers has encircled me, they pierced my hands and my feet.

Pois cães me rodeiam; um ajuntamento de malfeitores me cerca; transpassaram-me as mãos e os pés.

17 I can count all my bones; gaze at me.

Posso contar todos os meus ossos. Eles me olham e ficam a mirar-me.

18 T hey part my clothing among them and cast lots for my raiment (a long, shirtlike garment, a seamless undertunic). )

Repartem entre si as minhas vestes, e sobre a minha túnica lançam sortes.

19 B ut be not far from me, O Lord; O my Help, hasten to aid me!

Mas tu, Senhor, não te alongues de mim; força minha, apressa-te em socorrer-me.

20 D eliver my life from the sword, my dear life from the power of the dog.

Livra-me da espada, e a minha vida do poder do cão.

21 S ave me from the lion’s mouth; for You have answered me from the horns of the wild oxen.

Salva-me da boca do leão, sim, livra-me dos chifres do boi selvagem.

22 I will declare Your name to my brethren; in the midst of the congregation will I praise You.

Então anunciarei o teu nome aos meus irmãos; louvar-te-ei no meio da congregação.

23 Y ou who fear (revere and worship) the Lord, praise Him! All you offspring of Jacob, glorify Him. Fear (revere and worship) Him, all you offspring of Israel.

Vós, que temeis ao Senhor, louvai-o; todos vós, filhos de Jacó, glorificai-o; temei-o todos vós, descendência de Israel.

24 F or He has not despised or abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither has He hidden His face from him, but when he cried to Him, He heard.

Porque não desprezou nem abominou a aflição do aflito, nem dele escondeu o seu rosto; antes, quando ele clamou, o ouviu.

25 M y praise shall be of You in the great congregation. I will pay to Him my vows before them who fear (revere and worship) Him.

De ti vem o meu louvor na grande congregação; pagarei os meus votos perante os que o temem.

26 T he poor and afflicted shall eat and be satisfied; they shall praise the Lord—they who seek for, inquire of and for Him, and require Him. May your hearts be quickened now and forever!

Os mansos comerão e se fartarão; louvarão ao Senhor os que o buscam. Que o vosso coração viva eternamente!

27 A ll the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall bow down and worship before You,

Todos os limites da terra se lembrarão e se converterão ao Senhor, e diante dele adorarão todas as famílias das nações.

28 F or the kingship and the kingdom are the Lord’s, and He is the ruler over the nations.

Porque o domínio é do Senhor, e ele reina sobre as nações.

29 A ll the mighty ones upon earth shall eat and worship; all they that go down to the dust shall bow before Him, even he who cannot keep himself alive.

Todos os grandes da terra comerão e adorarão, e todos os que descem ao pó se prostrarão perante ele, os que não podem reter a sua vida.

30 P osterity shall serve Him; they shall tell of the Lord to the next generation.

A posteridade o servirá; falar-se-á do Senhor ã geração vindoura.

31 T hey shall come and shall declare His righteousness to a people yet to be born—that He has done it!

Chegarão e anunciarão a justiça dele; a um povo que há de nascer contarão o que ele fez.
