1 W hen Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, I am the Almighty God; walk and live habitually before Me and be perfect (blameless, wholehearted, complete).

Quando Abrão tinha noventa e nove anos, apareceu-lhe o Senhor e lhe disse: Eu sou o Deus Todo-Poderoso; anda em minha presença, e sê perfeito;

2 A nd I will make My covenant (solemn pledge) between Me and you and will multiply you exceedingly.

e firmarei o meu pacto contigo, e sobremaneira te multiplicarei.

3 T hen Abram fell on his face, and God said to him,

Ao que Abrão se prostrou com o rosto em terra, e Deus falou-lhe, dizendo:

4 A s for Me, behold, My covenant (solemn pledge) is with you, and you shall be the father of many nations.

Quanto a mim, eis que o meu pacto é contigo, e serás pai de muitas nações;

5 N or shall your name any longer be Abram; but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you the father of many nations.

não mais serás chamado Abrão, mas Abraão será o teu nome; pois por pai de muitas nações te hei posto;

6 A nd I will make you exceedingly fruitful and I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.

far-te-ei frutificar sobremaneira, e de ti farei nações, e reis sairão de ti;

7 A nd I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting, solemn pledge, to be a God to you and to your posterity after you.

estabelecerei o meu pacto contigo e com a tua descendência depois de ti em suas gerações, como pacto perpétuo, para te ser por Deus a ti e ã tua descendência depois de ti.

8 A nd I will give to you and to your posterity after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

Dar-te-ei a ti e ã tua descendência depois de ti a terra de tuas peregrinações, toda a terra de Canaã, em perpétua possessão; e serei o seu Deus.

9 A nd God said to Abraham, As for you, you shall therefore keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations.

Disse mais Deus a Abraão: Ora, quanto a ti, guardarás o meu pacto, tu e a tua descendência depois de ti, nas suas gerações.

10 T his is My covenant, which you shall keep, between Me and you and your posterity after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised.

Este é o meu pacto, que guardareis entre mim e vós, e a tua descendência depois de ti: todo varão dentre vugar para aquele que me

11 A nd you shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin, and it shall be a token or sign of the covenant (the promise or pledge) between Me and you.

Circuncidar-vos-eis na carne do prepúcio; e isto será por sinal de pacto entre mim e vós.

12 H e who is eight days old among you shall be circumcised, every male throughout your generations, whether born in house or bought with money from any foreigner not of your offspring.

 idade de oito dias, todo varão dentre vós será circuncidado, por todas as vossas gerações, tanto o nascido em casa como o comprado por dinheiro a qualquer estrangeiro, que não for da tua linhagem.

13 H e that is born in your house and he that is bought with your money must be circumcised; and My covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.

Com efeito será circuncidado o nascido em tua casa, e o comprado por teu dinheiro; assim estará o meu pacto na vossa carne como pacto perpétuo.

14 A nd the male who is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he has broken My covenant.

Mas o incircunciso, que não se circuncidar na carne do prepúcio, essa alma será extirpada do seu povo; violou o meu pacto.

15 A nd God said to Abraham, As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai; but Sarah her name shall be.

Disse Deus a Abraão: Quanto a Sarai, tua, mulher, não lhe chamarás mais Sarai, porem Sara será o seu nome.

16 A nd I will bless her and give you a son also by her. Yes, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall come from her.

Abençoá-la-ei, e também dela te darei um filho; sim, abençoá-la-ei, e ela será mãe de nações; reis de povos sairão dela.

17 T hen Abraham fell on his face and laughed and said in his heart, Shall a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a son?

Ao que se prostrou Abraão com o rosto em terra, e riu-se, e disse no seu coração: A um homem de cem anos há de nascer um filho? Dará ã luz Sara, que tem noventa anos?

18 A nd said to God, Oh, that Ishmael might live before You!

Depois disse Abraão a Deus: Oxalá que viva Ismael diante de ti!

19 B ut God said, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son indeed, and you shall call his name Isaac; and I will establish My covenant or solemn pledge with him for an everlasting covenant and with his posterity after him.

E Deus lhe respondeu: Na verdade, Sara, tua mulher, te dará ã luz um filho, e lhe chamarás Isaque; com ele estabelecerei o meu pacto como pacto perpétuo para a sua descendência depois dele.

20 A nd as for Ishmael, I have heard and heeded you: behold, I will bless him and will make him fruitful and will multiply him exceedingly; He will be the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation.

E quanto a Ismael, também te tenho ouvido; eis que o tenho abençoado, e fá-lo-ei frutificar, e multiplicá-lo-ei grandissimamente; doze príncipes gerará, e dele farei uma grande nação.

21 B ut My covenant, My promise and pledge, I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this season next year.

O meu pacto, porém, estabelecerei com Isaque, que Sara te dará ã luz neste tempo determinado, no ano vindouro.

22 A nd God stopped talking with him and went up from Abraham.

Ao acabar de falar com Abraão, subiu Deus diante dele.

23 A nd Abraham took Ishmael his son and all who were born in his house and all who were bought with his money, every male among of Abraham’s house, and circumcised the very same day, as God had said to him.

Logo tomou Abraão a seu filho Ismael, e a todos os nascidos na sua casa e a todos os comprados por seu dinheiro, todo varão entre os da casa de Abraão, e lhes circuncidou a carne do prepúcio, naquele mesmo dia, como Deus lhe ordenara.

24 A nd Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised.

Abraão tinha noventa e nove anos, quando lhe foi circuncidada a carne do prepúcio;

25 A nd Ishmael his son was thirteen years old when he was circumcised.

E Ismael, seu filho, tinha treze anos, quando lhe foi circuncidada a carne do prepúcio.

26 O n the very same day Abraham was circumcised, and Ishmael his son as well.

No mesmo dia foram circuncidados Abraão e seu filho Ismael.

27 A nd all the men of his house, both those born in the house and those bought with money from a foreigner, were circumcised along with him.

E todos os homens da sua casa, assim os nascidos em casa, como os comprados por dinheiro ao estrangeiro, foram circuncidados com ele.
