1 H ear this, O you priests! And listen, O house of Israel! And give ear, O house of the king! For the judgment pronounced pertains to you and is meant for you, because you have been a snare at Mizpah and a net spread upon Tabor.

Ouvi isto, ó sacerdotes, e escutai, ó casa de Israel, e dai ouvidos, ó casa do rei; porque contra vós se dirige este juízo; pois que vos tornastes um laço para Mizpá, e uma rede estendida sobre o Tabor.

2 T he revolters are deeply sunk in corruption and slaughter, but I am a rebuke and a chastisement for them all.

Os revoltosos se aprofundaram na corrupção; mas eu os castigarei a todos eles.

3 I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from Me; for now, O Ephraim, you have played the harlot and have worshiped idols; Israel is defiled.

Eu conheço a Efraim, e Israel não se me esconde; porque agora te tens prostituído, ó Efraim, e Israel se contaminou.

4 T heir doings will not permit them to return to their God, for the spirit of harlotry is within them and they know not the Lord.

As suas ações não lhes permitem voltar para o seu Deus; porque o espírito da prostituição está no meio deles, e não conhecem ao Senhor.

5 B ut the pride and self-reliance of Israel testifies before his face. Therefore shall Israel, and Ephraim, totter and fall in their iniquity and guilt, and Judah shall stumble and fall with them.

A soberba de Israel testifica contra eles; e Israel e Efraim cairão pela sua iniqüidade, e Judá cairá juntamente com eles.

6 T hey shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the Lord, but they will not find Him; He has withdrawn Himself from them.

Eles irão com os seus rebanhos e com as suas manadas, para buscarem ao Senhor, mas não o acharão; ele se retirou deles.

7 T hey have dealt faithlessly and treacherously with the Lord, for they have borne alien children. Now shall a New Moon (one month) devour them with their fields.

Aleivosamente se houveram contra o Senhor, porque geraram filhos estranhos; agora a festa da lua nova os consumirá, juntamente com as suas porções.

8 B low the horn in Gibeah and the trumpet in Ramah. Sound the alarm at Beth-aven: behind you and after you, O Benjamin!

Tocai a corneta em Gibeá, a trombeta em Ramá; soltai o alarma em Bete-Áven; após ti, ó Benjamim.

9 E phraim shall become a desolation in the day of rebuke and punishment. Among the tribes of Israel I declare what shall surely be.

Efraim será para assolação no dia do castigo: entre as tribos de Israel declaro o que é certo.

10 T he princes of Judah are like those who remove the landmark; I will pour out My wrath upon them like water.

Os príncipes de Judá são como os que removem os marcos; derramarei, pois, o meu furor sobre eles como água.

11 E phraim is oppressed; he is broken and crushed by judgment, because he was content to walk after idols (images) and man’s command ( vanities and filth ).

Efraim está oprimido e quebrantado no juízo, porque foi do seu agrado andar após a vaidade.

12 T herefore I am like a moth to Ephraim and like dry rot to the house of Judah.

Portanto para Efraim serei como a traça e para a casa de Judá como a podridão.

13 W hen Ephraim saw his sickness and Judah saw his wound, then Ephraim went to Assyria and sent to great King Jareb. Yet he cannot heal you nor will he cure you of your wound.

Quando Efraim viu a sua enfermidade, e Judá a sua chaga, recorreu Efraim ã Assíria e enviou ao rei Jarebe; mas ele não pode curar-vos, nem sarar a vossa chaga.

14 F or I will be to Ephraim like a lion, and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will rend and go on; I will carry off and there will be no one to deliver.

Pois para Efraim serei como um leão, e como um leão novo para a casa de Judá; eu, sim eu despedaçarei, e ir-me-ei embora; arrebatarei, e não haverá quem livre.

15 I will return to My place until they acknowledge their offense and feel their guilt and seek My face; in their affliction and distress they will seek, inquire for, and require Me earnestly, saying,

Irei, e voltarei para o meu lugar, até que se reconheçam culpados e busquem a minha face; estando eles aflitos, ansiosamente me buscarão.
