1 F or God alone my soul waits in silence; from Him comes my salvation.

Somente em Deus espera silenciosa a minha alma; dele vem a minha salvação.

2 H e only is my Rock and my Salvation, my Defense and my Fortress, I shall not be greatly moved.

Só ele é a minha rocha e a minha salvação; é ele a minha fortaleza; não serei grandemente abalado.

3 H ow long will you set upon a man that you may slay him, all of you, like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence?

Até quando acometereis um homem, todos vós, para o derrubardes, como a um muro pendido, uma cerca prestes a cair?

4 T hey only consult to cast him down from his height; they delight in lies. They bless with their mouths, but they curse inwardly. Selah!

Eles somente consultam como derrubá-lo da sua alta posição; deleitam-se em mentiras; com a boca bendizem, mas no íntimo maldizem.

5 M y soul, wait only upon God and silently submit to Him; for my hope and expectation are from Him.

Ó minha alma, espera silenciosa somente em Deus, porque dele vem a minha esperança.

6 H e only is my Rock and my Salvation; He is my Defense and my Fortress, I shall not be moved.

Só ele é a minha rocha e a minha salvação; é a minha fortaleza; não serei abalado.

7 W ith God rests my salvation and my glory; He is my Rock of unyielding strength and impenetrable hardness, and my refuge is in God!

Em Deus está a minha salvação e a minha glória; Deus é o meu forte rochedo e o meu refúgio.

8 T rust in, lean on, rely on, and have confidence in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is a refuge for us (a fortress and a high tower). Selah!

Confiai nele, ó povo, em todo o tempo; derramai perante ele o vosso coração; Deus é o nosso refúgio.

9 M en of low degree are emptiness (futility, a breath) and men of high degree are a lie and a delusion. In the balances they go up; they are together lighter than a breath.

Certamente que os filhos de Adão são vaidade, e os filhos dos homens são desilusão; postos na balança, subiriam; todos juntos são mais leves do que um sopro.

10 T rust not in and rely confidently not on extortion and oppression, and do not vainly hope in robbery; if riches increase, set not your heart on them.

Não confieis na opressão, nem vos vanglorieis na rapina; se as vossas riquezas aumentarem, não ponhais nelas o coração.

11 G od has spoken once, twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God.

Uma vez falou Deus, duas vezes tenho ouvido isto: que o poder pertence a Deus.

12 A lso to You, O Lord, belong mercy and loving-kindness, for You render to every man according to his work.

A ti também, Senhor, pertence a benignidade; pois retribuis a cada um segundo a sua obra.
