1 I n his days, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant for three years; then he turned and rebelled against him.

Nos seus dias subiu Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, e Jeoiaquim ficou sendo seu servo por três anos; mas depois se rebelou contra ele.

2 T he Lord sent against Jehoiakim bands of Chaldeans, of Syrians, of Moabites, and of Ammonites. And He sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the Lord which He spoke by His servants the prophets.

Então o Senhor enviou contra Jeoiaquim tropas dos caldeus, tropas dos sírios, tropas dos moabitas e tropas dos filhos de Amom; e as enviou contra Judá, para o destruírem, conforme a palavra que o Senhor falara por intermédio de seus servos os profetas.

3 S urely this came upon Judah at the command of the Lord, to remove them out of His sight because of the sins of Manasseh according to all he had done,

Foi, na verdade, por ordem do Senhor que isto veio sobre Judá para removê-lo de diante da sua face, por causa de todos os pecados cometidos por Manassés,

4 A nd also for the innocent blood that he shed. For he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and the Lord would not pardon.

bem como por causa do sangue inocente que ele derramou; pois encheu Jerusalém de sangue inocente; e por isso o Senhor não quis perdoar.

5 T he rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of Judah’s Kings?

Ora, o restante dos atos de Jeoiaquim, e tudo quanto fez, porventura não estão escritos no livro das crônicas dos reis de Judá?

6 S o Jehoiakim slept with his fathers. Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.

Jeoiaquim dormiu com seus pais. E Joaquim, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.

7 T he king of Egypt came no more out of his land, for the king of Babylon had taken all that belonged to Egypt’s king, from the River of Egypt to the river Euphrates.

O rei do Egito nunca mais saiu da sua terra, porque o rei de Babilônia tinha tomado tudo quanto era do rei do Egito desde o rio do Egito até o rio Eufrates.

8 J ehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began his three-month reign in Jerusalem. His mother was Nehushta daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.

Tinha Joaquim dezoito anos quando começou a reinar e reinou três meses em Jerusalém. O nome de sua mãe era Neústa, filha de Elnatã, de Jerusalém.

9 A nd he did evil in the sight of the Lord, in keeping with all his father had done.

Ele fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor, conforme tudo o que seu pai tinha feito.

10 A t that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up to Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.

Naquele tempo os servos de Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, subiram contra Jerusalém, e a cidade foi sitiada.

11 N ebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to the city while his servants were besieging it.

E Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, chegou diante da cidade quando já os seus servos a estavam sitiando.

12 J ehoiachin king of Judah surrendered to the king of Babylon, he, his mother, his servants, princes, and palace officials. The king of Babylon took him prisoner in the eighth year of Nebuchadnezzar’s reign.

Então saiu Joaquim, rei de Judá, ao rei da Babilônia, ele, e sua mãe, e seus servos, e seus príncipes, e seus oficiais; e, no ano oitavo do seu reinado, o rei de Babilônia o levou preso.

13 H e carried off all the treasures of the Lord’s house and the king’s house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold in the temple of the Lord, which Solomon king of Israel had made, as the Lord had said.

E tirou dali todos os tesouros da casa do Senhor, e os tesouros da casa do rei; e despedaçou todos os vasos de ouro que Salomão, rei de Israel, fizera no templo do Senhor, como o Senhor havia dito.

14 H e carried away all Jerusalem, all the princes, all the mighty men of valor, 10, 000 captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths. None remained except the poorest of the land.

E transportou toda a Jerusalém, como também todos os príncipes e todos os homens valentes, deu mil cativos, e todos os artífices e ferreiros; ninguém ficou senão o povo pobre da terra.

15 N ebuchadnezzar took captive to Babylon King Jehoiachin; his mother, his wives, his officials, and the chief and mighty men of the land he took from Jerusalem to Babylon into exile.

Assim transportou Joaquim para Babilônia; como também a mãe do rei, as mulheres do rei, os seus oficiais, e os poderosos da terra, ele os levou cativos de Jerusalém para Babilônia.

16 A nd the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon all the men of valor, 7, 000, and craftsmen and smiths, 1, 000, all strong and fit for war.

Todos os homens valentes, em número de sete mil, e artífices e ferreiros em número de mil, todos eles robustos e destros na guerra, a estes o rei de Babilônia levou cativos para Babilônia.

17 A nd the king of Babylon made Mattaniah, Jehoiachin’s uncle, king in his stead and changed his name to Zedekiah.

E o rei de Babilônia constituiu rei em lugar de Joaquim a Matanias, seu tio paterno, e lhe mudou o nome em Zedequias.

18 Z edekiah was twenty-one years old when he began his eleven-year reign in Jerusalem. His mother was Hamutal daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

Zedequias tinha vinte e um anos quando começou a reinar, e reinou onze anos em Jerusalém. O nome de sua mãe era Hamutal, filha de Jeremias, de Libna.

19 H e did evil in the sight of the Lord, in keeping with all Jehoiakim had done.

Ele fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor, conforme tudo quanto fizera Jeoiaquim.

20 F or because of the anger of the Lord it came to the point in Jerusalem and Judah that He cast them out of His presence. And Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

Por causa da ira do Senhor, assim sucedeu em Jerusalém, e em Judá, até que ele as lançou da sua presença. E Zedequias se rebelou contra o rei de Babilônia.
