1 D eliver me from my enemies, O my God; defend and protect me from those who rise up against me.

Livra-me, Deus meu, dos meus inimigos; protege-me daqueles que se levantam contra mim.

2 D eliver me from and lift me above those who work evil and save me from bloodthirsty men.

Livra-me do que praticam a iniqüidade, e salva-me dos homens sanguinários.

3 F or, behold, they lie in wait for my life; fierce and mighty men are banding together against me, not for my transgression nor for any sin of mine, O Lord.

Pois eis que armam ciladas ã minha alma; os fortes se ajuntam contra mim, não por transgressão minha nem por pecado meu, ó Senhor.

4 T hey run and prepare themselves, though there is no fault in me; rouse Yourself to meet and help me, and see!

Eles correm, e se preparam, sem culpa minha; desperta para me ajudares, e olha.

5 Y ou, O Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, arise to visit all the nations; spare none and be not merciful to any who treacherously plot evil. Selah!

Tu, ó Senhor, Deus dos exércitos, Deus de Israel, desperta para punir todas as nações; não tenhas misericórdia de nenhum dos pérfidos que praticam a iniqüidade.

6 T hey return at evening, they howl and snarl like dogs, and go about the city.

Eles voltam ã tarde, uivam como cães, e andam rodeando a cidade.

7 B ehold, they belch out with their mouths; swords are in their lips, for who, they think, hears us?

Eis que eles soltam gritos; espadas estão nos seus lábios; porque (pensam eles), quem ouve?

8 B ut You, O Lord, will laugh at them; You will hold all the nations in derision.

Mas tu, Senhor, te rirás deles; zombarás de todas as nações.

9 O my Strength, I will watch and give heed to You and sing praises; for God is my Defense (my Protector and High Tower).

Em ti, força minha, esperarei; pois Deus é o meu alto refúgio.

10 M y God in His mercy and steadfast love will meet me; God will let me look on my enemies (those who lie in wait for me).

O meu Deus com a sua benignidade virá ao meu encontro; Deus me fará ver o meu desejo sobre os meus inimigos.

11 S lay them not, lest my people forget; scatter them by Your power and make them wander to and fro, and bring them down, O Lord our Shield!

Não os mates, para que meu povo não se esqueça; espalha-os pelo teu poder, e abate-os ó Senhor, escudo nosso.

12 F or the sin of their mouths and the words of their lips, let them even be trapped and taken in their pride, and for the cursing and lying which they utter.

Pelo pecado da sua boca e pelas palavras dos seus lábios fiquem presos na sua soberba. Pelas maldições e pelas mentiras que proferem,

13 C onsume them in wrath, consume them so that they shall be no more; and let them know unto the ends of the earth that God rules over Jacob (Israel). Selah!

consome-os na tua indignação; consome-os, de modo que não existem mais; para que saibam que Deus reina sobre Jacó, até os confins da terra.

14 A nd at evening let them return; let them howl and snarl like dogs, and go prowling about the city.

Eles tornam a vir ã tarde, uivam como cães, e andam rodeando a cidade;

15 L et them wander up and down for food and tarry all night if they are not satisfied (not getting their fill).

vagueiam buscando o que comer, e resmungam se não se fartarem.

16 B ut I will sing of Your mighty strength and power; yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy and loving-kindness in the morning; for You have been to me a defense (a fortress and a high tower) and a refuge in the day of my distress.

Eu, porém, cantarei a tua força; pela manhã louvarei com alegria a tua benignidade, porquanto tens sido para mim uma fortaleza, e refúgio no dia da minha angústia.

17 U nto You, O my Strength, I will sing praises; for God is my Defense, my Fortress, and High Tower, the God Who shows me mercy and steadfast love.

A ti, ó força minha, cantarei louvores; porque Deus é a minha fortaleza, é o Deus que me mostra benignidade.
