1 D eliver me from my enemies, O my God; defend and protect me from those who rise up against me.

2 D eliver me from and lift me above those who work evil and save me from bloodthirsty men.

(59-3) Визволь мене від злочинців, і спаси мене від кровожерних,

3 F or, behold, they lie in wait for my life; fierce and mighty men are banding together against me, not for my transgression nor for any sin of mine, O Lord.

(59-4) бо ось причаїлись на душу мою, на мене збираються сильні, не моя в тім провина, о Господи, і не мій гріх!

4 T hey run and prepare themselves, though there is no fault in me; rouse Yourself to meet and help me, and see!

(59-5) Без моєї провини вони он збігаються та готуються, устань же назустріч мені та побач!

5 Y ou, O Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, arise to visit all the nations; spare none and be not merciful to any who treacherously plot evil. Selah!

(59-6) і Ти, Господи, Боже Саваоте, Боже ізраїлів, збудися, щоб покарати всіх поган, і не помилуй нікого із зрадників злих! Села.

6 T hey return at evening, they howl and snarl like dogs, and go about the city.

(59-7) Надвечір вони повертаються, скиглять, як пес, і перебігають по місту,

7 B ehold, they belch out with their mouths; swords are in their lips, for who, they think, hears us?

(59-8) й ось слова вивергають устами своїми, мечі в їхніх губах, та хто це почує...

8 B ut You, O Lord, will laugh at them; You will hold all the nations in derision.

(59-9) Але посмієшся з них, Господи, і всіх поган засоромиш!

9 O my Strength, I will watch and give heed to You and sing praises; for God is my Defense (my Protector and High Tower).

(59-10) Твердине моя, я Тебе пильнуватиму, бо Бог оборона моя!

10 M y God in His mercy and steadfast love will meet me; God will let me look on my enemies (those who lie in wait for me).

(59-11) Мій Бог, Його милість мене попередила, Бог учинить мені, що побачу падіння своїх ворогів!

11 S lay them not, lest my people forget; scatter them by Your power and make them wander to and fro, and bring them down, O Lord our Shield!

(59-12) Не вбивай їх, щоб народ мій цього не забув, міццю Своєю розвій їх і зниж їх, о щите наш, Господи!

12 F or the sin of their mouths and the words of their lips, let them even be trapped and taken in their pride, and for the cursing and lying which they utter.

(59-13) Гріх їхніх уст слово губ їхніх, і нехай вони схоплені будуть своєю пихою, і за клятву й брехню, яку кажуть!

13 C onsume them in wrath, consume them so that they shall be no more; and let them know unto the ends of the earth that God rules over Jacob (Israel). Selah!

(59-14) У гніві їх знищ, знищ і хай їх не буде, і хай знають вони, що царює Бог в Якові, аж до кінців землі! Села.

14 A nd at evening let them return; let them howl and snarl like dogs, and go prowling about the city.

(59-15) А надвечір вони повертаються, скиглять, як пес, і перебігають по місту.

15 L et them wander up and down for food and tarry all night if they are not satisfied (not getting their fill).

(59-16) Вони вештатись будуть, щоб їсти, коли ж не наїдяться, то скаржитись будуть.

16 B ut I will sing of Your mighty strength and power; yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy and loving-kindness in the morning; for You have been to me a defense (a fortress and a high tower) and a refuge in the day of my distress.

(59-17) А я буду співати про силу Твою, буду радісно вранці хвалити Твою милість, бо для мене Ти був в день недолі моєї твердинею й захистом!

17 U nto You, O my Strength, I will sing praises; for God is my Defense, my Fortress, and High Tower, the God Who shows me mercy and steadfast love.

(59-18) Твердине моя, до Тебе співати я буду, бо Бог оборона моя, милостивий мій Боже!
