1 T he Levitical priests and all the tribe of Levi shall have no part or inheritance with Israel; they shall eat the offerings made by fire to the Lord, and His rightful dues.

Священикам-Левитам, усьому Левієвому племені не буде частки та спадку разом з Ізраїлем, огняні жертви Господа та частки Його будуть їм.

2 T hey shall have no inheritance among their brethren; the Lord is their inheritance, as He promised them.

А спадку не буде йому серед братів його: Господь Він спадок його, як Він говорив був йому.

3 A nd this shall be the priest’s due from the people, from those who offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep: they shall give to the priest the shoulder and the two cheeks and the stomach.

А оце буде належати священикам від народу, від тих, хто приносить жертву: коли це віл, коли це одне з дрібної худоби, то даси священикові плече, і щоки, і шлунок.

4 T he firstfruits of your grain, of your new wine, and of your oil, and the first or best of the fleece of your sheep you shall give the priest.

Початок від збіжжя свого, від виноградного соку свого, і від оливки своєї, і початок стриження отари своєї даси ти йому.

5 F or the Lord your God has chosen him out of all your tribes to stand to minister in the name of the Lord, him and his sons forever.

Бо його вибрав Господь, Бог твій, зо всіх племен твоїх, щоб ставав він служити в Господнє Ім'я, він та сини його по всі дні.

6 A nd if a Levite comes from any of your towns out of all Israel where he is a temporary resident, he may come whenever he desires to the place the Lord will choose;

А коли прийде Левит з одної з брам твоїх з усього Ізраїля, де він мешкає там, і прибуде за всім жаданням своєї душі до місця, яке вибере Господь,

7 T hen he may minister in the name the Lord his God like all his brethren the Levites who stand to minister there before the Lord.

і буде він служити в Ім'я Господа, Бога свого, як усі його браття Левити, що стоять там перед Господнім лицем,

8 T hey shall have equal portions to eat, besides what may come of the sale of his patrimony.

то по рівній частці будуть вони їсти, опріч маєтку, проданого по батьках.

9 W hen you come into the land which the Lord your God gives you, you shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of these nations.

Коли будеш входити до Краю, що дає тобі Господь, Бог твій, то не навчися чинити такого, як гидота цих народів.

10 T here shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or daughter pass through the fire, or who uses divination, or is a soothsayer, or an augur, or a sorcerer,

Нехай не знайдеться між тобою такий, хто переводить свого сина чи дочку свою через огонь, хто ворожить ворожбу, хто ворожить по хмарах, і хто ворожить по птахах, і хто чарівник,

11 O r a charmer, or a medium, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

і хто чорнокнижник, і хто викликає духа померлого та духа віщого, і хто питає померлих.

12 F or all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and it is because of these abominable practices that the Lord your God is driving them out before you.

Бо гидота для Господа кожен, хто чинить таке, і через ті гидоти Господь, Бог твій, виганяє їх перед тобою.

13 Y ou shall be blameless to the Lord your God.

Бездоганний будеш ти перед Господом, Богом своїм,

14 F or these nations whom you shall dispossess listen to soothsayers and diviners. But as for you, the Lord your God has not allowed you to do so.

бо ці народи, що ти посядеш їх, слухають тих, хто ворожить по хмарах та ворожбитів, а ти не таке дав тобі Господь, Бог твій.

15 T he Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet (Prophet) from the midst of your brethren like me; to him you shall listen.

Пророка з-посеред тебе, з братів твоїх, Такого, як я, поставить тобі Господь, Бог твій, Його будете слухати,

16 T his is what you desired of the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly when you said, Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God or see this great fire any more, lest I die.

згідно з усім, чого жадав ти від Господа, Бога свого, на Хориві в дні зборів, говорячи: Щоб більше не чути мені голосу Господа, Бога свого, а цього великого огню вже не побачити й не померти.

17 A nd the Lord said to me, They have well said all that they have spoken.

І сказав до мене Господь: Добре сказали вони.

18 I will raise up for them a prophet (Prophet) from among their brethren like you, and will put My words in his mouth; and he shall speak to them all that I command him.

Поставлю Пророка для них з-поміж їхніх братів, Такого, як ти, і дам Я слова Свої в уста Його, і Він їм говоритиме все, що Я накажу.

19 A nd whoever will not hearken to My words which he shall speak in My name, I Myself will require it of him.

І станеться, кожен, хто не слухатиме слів Моїх, що Той Пророк говоритиме Моїм Ім'ям, Я покараю того.

20 B ut the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.

А той пророк, що зухвало відважиться промовляти Моїм Ім'ям слова, яких Я не наказав був йому говорити, і що буде говорити, і що буде говорити ім'ям інших богів, хай помре той пророк.

21 A nd if you say in your hearts, How shall we know which words the Lord has not spoken?

А коли ти скажеш у серці своєму: Як ми пізнаємо те слово, якого Господь не говорив?

22 W hen a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or prove true, that is a word which the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.

Що буде говорити той пророк Ім'ям Господа, і не станеться та річ, і не прийде, то це те слово, якого не сказав Господь. У зухвалості говорив його той пророк, і ти не будеш боятися його.
