1 M oreover, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

І було мені слово Господнє таке:

2 S on of man, set your face against the mountain Seir and prophesy against it,

Сину людський, зверни своє обличчя до гори Сеїр, і пророкуй на неї

3 A nd say to it, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, O Mount Seir, I am against you, and I will stretch out My hand against you and I will make you a desolation and an astonishment.

та й скажеш їй: Так говорить Господь Бог: Ось Я на тебе, горо Сеїре, і витягну руку Свою на тебе, й оберну тебе на спустошення та на сплюндрування.

4 I will lay your cities waste and you shall be desolate, and you shall know, understand, and realize that I am the Lord.

Міста твої оберну на руїну, а ти будеш спустошенням, і пізнаєте ви, що Я Господь!

5 B ecause you have had a perpetual enmity and you gave over the sons of Israel to the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, when they were suffering their final punishment,

За те, що ти маєш вічну ворожнечу, і валила Ізраїлевих синів через меча в часі їхнього нещастя, в часі загибелі кінцевої,

6 T herefore, as I live, says the Lord God, I will expose you to slaughter and slaughter shall pursue you; since you could not bear to live without bloodshed, therefore bloodshed shall pursue you.

тому як живий Я, говорить Господь Бог, на кров оберну тебе, і кров буде гнати тебе. Отож кров ти зненавиділа, то кров буде гнати тебе!

7 T hus will I make Mount Seir an astonishment and a desolation, and I will cut off from it him who passes through it and him who returns.

Оберну Я гору Сеїр на спустошення та на сплюндрування, і витну з неї того, хто йде та вертається.

8 A nd I will fill mountains with his slain men; on your hills and in your valleys and in all your ravines shall those fall who are slain with the sword.

І наповню його гори трупами його! Згір'я твої й долини твої та всі твої річища, побиті мечем попадають у них!

9 I will make you a perpetual desolation and your cities shall not be inhabited. Then you will know, understand, and realize that I am the Lord.

На вічні руїни оберну Я тебе, а міста твої не заселяться, і пізнаєте ви, що Я Господь!

10 B ecause you said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine and we will take possession of them—although the Lord was there,

За те, що ти кажеш: Два ці народи, і два ці краї будуть мої, і ми посядемо те, де Господь був,

11 T herefore, as I live, says the Lord God, I will deal with you according to the anger and envy you showed because of your enmity for them, and I will make Myself known among them when I judge and punish you.

тому, як живий Я, говорить Господь Бог, зроблю Я за гнівом твоїм та за заздрістю твоєю, які ти робив із своєї ненависти до них, і вони пізнають Мене, коли буду судити тебе.

12 A nd you shall know, understand, and realize that I am the Lord, and that I have heard all your revilings and scornful speeches that you have uttered against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid waste and desolate; they are given to us to devour.

І пізнаєш ти, що Я Господь, чув усі образи твої, які ти казав на Ізраїлеві гори, говорячи: Вони опустошілі, дані нам на їжу!

13 T hus you have boasted and magnified yourselves against Me with your mouth, multiplying your words against Me; I have heard it.

І ви величалися проти Мене своїми устами, і збільшували проти Мене слова свої, Я це чув!

14 T hus says the Lord God: While the whole earth rejoices, I will make you a waste and desolation.

Так говорить Господь Бог: Коли буде радіти вся земля, тоді вчиню її тобі спустошенням!

15 A s you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it was desolate, so will I deal with you; you shall be a waste and desolation, O Mount Seir and all Edom, all of it. Then they shall know, understand, and realize that I am the Lord.

Як радієш ти зо спадку Ізраїлевого дому через те, що опустошіло воно, так зроблю Я й тобі. Спустошенням станеш, горо Сеїре, та ввесь Едом, увесь він, і пізнають вони, що Я Господь!
