2 G race (unmerited favor) be to you and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

3 W e ought and indeed are obligated to give thanks always to God for you, brethren, as is fitting, because your faith is growing exceedingly and the love of every one of you each toward the others is increasing and abounds.

Ми завжди повинні подяку складати за вас Богові, браття, як і годиться, бо сильно росте віра ваша, і примножується любов кожного з усіх вас один до одного.

4 A nd this is a cause of our mentioning you with pride among the churches (assemblies) of God for your steadfastness (your unflinching endurance and patience) and your firm faith in the midst of all the persecutions and crushing distresses and afflictions under which you are holding up.

Так що ми самі хвалимось вами по Божих Церквах за ваші страждання та віру в усіх переслідуваннях ваших та в утисках, що їх переносите ви.

5 T his is positive proof of the just and right judgment of God to the end that you may be deemed deserving of His kingdom, for the sake of which you are also suffering.

А це доказ праведного Божого суду, щоб стали ви гідні Божого Царства, що за нього й страждаєте ви!

6 s ince it is a righteous thing with God to repay with distress and affliction those who distress and afflict you,

Бо то справедливе в Бога віддати утиском тим, хто вас утискає,

7 A nd to '> recompense] you who are so distressed and afflicted relief and rest along with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in a flame of fire,

а вам, хто утиски терпить, відпочинок із нами, коли з'явиться з неба Господь Ісус з Анголами сили Своєї,

8 T o deal out retribution (chastisement and vengeance) upon those who do not know or perceive or become acquainted with God, and who ignore and refuse to obey the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

в огні полум'яному, що даватиме помсту на тих, хто Бога не знає, і не слухає Євангелії Господа нашого Ісуса.

9 S uch people will pay the penalty and suffer the punishment of everlasting ruin (destruction and perdition) and eternal exclusion and banishment from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,

Вони кару приймуть, вічну погибіль від лиця Господнього та від слави потуги Його,

10 W hen He comes to be glorified in His saints, and be marveled at and admired in all who have believed, because our witnessing among you was confidently accepted and believed.

як Він прийде того дня прославитися в Своїх святих, і стати дивним у всіх віруючих, бо свідчення наше знайшло віру між вами.

11 W ith this in view we constantly pray for you, that our God may deem and count you worthy of calling and every gracious purpose of goodness, and with power may complete in every particular work of faith (faith which is that leaning of the whole human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness).

За це ми й молимось завжди за вас, щоб наш Бог учинив вас гідними покликання, і міццю наповнив усю добру волю добрости й діло віри,

12 T hus may the name of our Lord Jesus Christ be glorified and become more glorious through and in you, and may you in Him according to the grace (favor and blessing) of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

щоб прославилося Ім'я Господа нашого Ісуса в вас, а ви в Ньому, за благодаттю Бога нашого й Господа Ісуса Христа.
