1 I t is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, impurity of a sort that is condemned and does not occur even among the heathen; for a man has father’s wife.

Всюди чути, що між вами перелюб, і то такий перелюб, який і між поганами незнаний, що хтось має за дружину собі дружину батькову...

2 A nd you are proud and arrogant! And you ought rather to mourn (bow in sorrow and in shame) until the person who has done this thing is removed from your fellowship and your midst!

І ви завеличалися, а не засмутились радніш, щоб був вилучений з-поміж вас, хто цей учинок зробив.

3 A s for my attitude, though I am absent in body, I am present in spirit, and I have already decided and passed judgment, as if actually present,

Отож я, відсутній тілом, та присутній духом, уже розсудив, як присутній між вами: того, хто так учинив це,

4 I n the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, on the man who has committed such a deed. When you and my own spirit are met together with the power of our Lord Jesus,

у Ім'я Господа Ісуса, як зберетеся ви та мій дух, із силою Господа нашого Ісуса,

5 Y ou are to deliver this man over to Satan for physical discipline, that spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

віддати такого сатані на погибіль тіла, щоб дух спасся Господнього дня!

6 y our boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven will ferment the whole lump ?

Величання ваше не добре. Хіба ви не знаєте, що мала розчина все тісто заквашує?

7 P urge (clean out) the old leaven that you may be fresh (new) dough, still uncontaminated, for Christ, our Passover, has been sacrificed.

Отож, очистьте стару розчину, щоб стати вам новим тістом, бо ви прісні, бо наша Пасха, Христос, за нас у жертву принесений.

8 T herefore, let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with leaven of vice and malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened of purity (nobility, honor) and sincerity and truth.

Тому святкуймо не в давній розчині, ані в розчині злоби й лукавства, але в опрісноках чистости та правди!

9 I wrote you in my letter not to associate with unchaste (impure) people—

Я писав вам у листі не єднатися з перелюбниками,

10 N ot altogether shun the immoral people of this world, or the greedy graspers and cheats and thieves or idolaters, since otherwise you would need to get out of the world and human society altogether!

але не взагалі з цьогосвітніми перелюбниками, чи з користолюбцями, чи з хижаками, чи з ідолянами, бо ви мусіли були б відійти від світу.

11 B ut now I write to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is known to be guilty of immorality or greed, or is an idolater, or is a person with a foul tongue, or is a drunkard or a swindler or a robber. you must not so much as eat with such a person.

А тепер я писав вам не єднатися з тим, хто зветься братом, та є перелюбник, чи користолюбець, чи ідолянин, чи злоріка, чи п'яниця, чи хижак, із такими навіть не їсти!

12 W hat of mine is it and what right have I to judge outsiders? Is it not those inside upon whom you are to pass disciplinary judgment ?

Бо що ж мені судити й чужих? Чи ви не судите своїх?

13 G od alone sits in judgment on those who are outside. Drive out that wicked one from among you.

А чужих судить Бог. Тож вилучіть лукавого з-поміж себе самих!
