1 T hen Joseph could not restrain himself before all those who stood by him, and he called out, Cause every man to go out from me! So no one stood there with Joseph while he made himself known to his brothers.

І не міг Йосип здержатися при всіх, що стояли біля нього, та й закричав: Виведіть усіх людей від мене! І не було з ним нікого, коли Йосип відкрився браттям своїм.

2 A nd he wept and sobbed aloud, and the Egyptians heard it, and the household of Pharaoh heard about it.

І він голосно заплакав, і почули єгиптяни, і почув дім фараонів.

3 A nd Joseph said to his brothers, I am Joseph! Is my father still alive? And his brothers could not reply, for they were distressingly disturbed and dismayed at his presence.

І Йосип промовив до браттів своїх: Я Йосип... Чи живий ще мій батько?... І не могли його браття йому відповісти, бо вони налякались його...

4 A nd Joseph said to his brothers, Come near to me, I pray you. And they did so. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom you sold into Egypt!

А Йосип промовив до братів своїх: Підійдіть же до мене! І вони підійшли, а він проказав: Я Йосип, ваш брат, якого ви продали були до Єгипту...

5 B ut now, do not be distressed and disheartened or vexed and angry with yourselves because you sold me here, for God sent me ahead of you to preserve life.

А тепер не сумуйте, і нехай не буде жалю в ваших очах, що ви продали мене сюди, бо то Бог послав мене перед вами для виживлення.

6 F or these two years the famine has been in the land, and there are still five years more in which there will be neither plowing nor harvest.

Бо ось два роки голод на землі, і ще буде п'ять літ, що не буде орки та жнив.

7 G od sent me before you to preserve for you a posterity and to continue a remnant on the earth, to save your lives by a great escape and save for you many survivors.

І послав мене Бог перед вами зробити для вас, щоб ви позостались на землі, і щоб утримати для вас при житті велике число спасених.

8 S o now it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh and lord of all his house and ruler over all the land of Egypt.

І виходить тепер, не ви послали мене сюди, але Бог. І Він зробив мене батьком фараоновим і паном усього дому його, і володарем усього краю єгипетського.

9 H urry and go up to my father and tell him, Your son Joseph says this to you: God has put me in charge of all Egypt. Come down to me; do not delay.

Поспішіть, і йдіть до батька мого, та й скажіть йому: Отак сказав син твій Йосип: Бог зробив мене володарем усього Єгипту. Зійди ж до мене, не гайся.

10 Y ou will live in the land of Goshen, and you will be close to me—you and your children and your grandchildren, your flocks, your herds, and all you have.

І осядь у землі Ґошен, і будеш близький до мене ти, і сини твої, і сини синів твоїх, і дрібна та велика худоба твоя, і все, що твоє.

11 A nd there I will sustain and provide for you, so that you and your household and all that are yours may not come to poverty and want, for there are yet five years of famine.

І прогодую тебе там, бо голод буде ще п'ять років, щоб не збіднів ти, і дім твій, і все, що твоє.

12 N ow notice! Your own eyes and the eyes of my brother Benjamin can see that I am talking to you personally.

І ось очі ваші й очі брата мого Веніямина бачать, що це мої уста говорять до вас.

13 A nd you shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt and of all that you have seen; and you shall hurry and bring my father down here.

І оповісте батькові моєму про всю славу мою в Єгипті, та про все, що ви бачили. І поспішіть, і приведіть вашого батька сюди.

14 A nd he fell on his brother Benjamin’s neck and wept, and Benjamin wept on his neck.

І впав він на шию Веніямину, братові своєму, та й заплакав, і Веніямин плакав на шиї його...

15 M oreover, he kissed all his brothers and wept upon them; and after that his brothers conversed with him.

І цілував він усіх братів своїх, і плакав над ними... А потому говорили брати його з ним.

16 W hen the report was heard in Pharaoh’s house that Joseph’s brothers had come, it pleased Pharaoh and his servants well.

І розголошено в домі фараоновім чутку, говорячи: Прийшли Йосипові брати! І було це добре в очах фараонових та в очах його рабів.

17 A nd Pharaoh said to Joseph, Tell your brothers this: Load your animals and return to the land of Canaan,

І промовив фараон до Йосипа: Скажи своїм братам: Зробіть оце: Понав'ючуйте худобу свою, та й ідіть, прибудьте до Краю ханаанського.

18 A nd get your father and your households and come to me. And I will give you the best in the land of Egypt and you will live on the fat of the land.

І заберіть вашого батька й доми ваші, та й прийдіть до мене, а я дам вам добра єгипетського краю. І споживайте ситість землі.

19 Y ou therefore command them, saying, You do this: take wagons from the land of Egypt for your little ones and for your wives, and bring your father and come.

А ти одержав наказа сказати: Зробіть це: Візьміть собі з єгипетського краю вози для ваших дітей та для ваших жінок, і привезіть свого батька й прибудьте.

20 A lso do not look with regret or concern upon your goods, for the best of all the land of Egypt is yours.

А око ваше нехай не жалує ваших речей, бо добро всього єгипетського краю ваше воно.

21 A nd the sons of Israel did so; and Joseph gave them wagons, as the order of Pharaoh permitted, and gave them provisions for the journey.

І зробили так Ізраїлеві сини. А Йосип дав їм вози на приказ фараонів, і дав їм поживи на дорогу.

22 T o each of them he gave changes of raiment, but to Benjamin he gave 300 pieces of silver and five changes of raiment.

І дав усім їм кожному переміни одежі, а Веніяминові дав три сотні срібла та п'ять перемін одежі.

23 A nd to his father he sent as follows: ten donkeys loaded with the good things of Egypt, and ten she-donkeys laden with grain, bread, and nourishing food and provision for his father on the way.

А батькові своєму послав він оце: десять ослів, нав'ючених з добра Єгипту, і десять ослиць, нав'ючених збіжжям, і хліб, і поживу для батька його на дорогу.

24 S o he sent his brothers away, and they departed, and he said to them, See that you do not disagree (get excited, quarrel) along the road.

І відпустив він своїх братів, і вони пішли. І сказав він до них: Не сваріться в дорозі!

25 S o they went up out of Egypt and came into the land of Canaan to Jacob their father,

І вийшли вони з Єгипту, та й прибули до ханаанського Краю, до Якова, батька свого.

26 A nd they said to him, Joseph is still alive! And he is governor over all the land of Egypt! And Jacob’s heart began to stop beating and fainted, for he did not believe them.

І розповіли йому, кажучи: Ще Йосип живий, і що він панує над усім єгипетським краєм. І зомліло серце його, бо він не повірив був їм...

27 B ut when they told him all the words of Joseph which he had said to them, and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived.

І переказували йому всі слова Йосипові, що говорив він до них. І як побачив він вози, що послав Йосип, щоб везти його, то ожив дух Якова, їхнього батька.

28 A nd Israel said, It is enough! Joseph my son is still alive. I will go and see him before I die.

І промовив Ізраїль: Досить! Ще живий Йосип, мій син! Піду ж та побачу його, поки помру!
