1 T he allotment for the people of Joseph went from the Jordan by Jericho, east of the waters of Jericho, into the wilderness, going up from Jericho into the hill country to Bethel;

І вийшов жеребок для Йосипових синів: від єрихонського Йордану до єрихонської води на схід пустиня, що тягнеться від Єрихону по горі до Бет-Елу.

2 T hen it went from Bethel to Luz and passed on to Ataroth, the border of the Archites.

І виходить вона з Бет-Елу до Луз, і переходить до границі Арки до Атароту,

3 A nd it went down westward to the territory of the Japhletites as far as the outskirts of Lower Beth-horon, then to Gezer, and ended at the sea.

і сходить на захід до границі яфлетської, аж до границі Бет-Хорону долішнього, і аж до Ґезеру, і закінчується при морі.

4 T he descendants of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, received their inheritance.

І посіли це Йосипові сини, Манасія та Єфрем.

5 T he boundary of the Ephraimites according to their families was thus: on the east side their border was Ataroth-addar as far as Upper Beth-horon.

І була границя Єфремових синів за їхніми родами, а границя їхнього спадку на схід була: Атрот-Аддар аж до горішнього Бет-Хорону.

6 T hen the boundary went from there to the sea; on the north was Michmethath; then on the east the boundary went out to Taanath-shiloh, and eastward to Janoah,

І виходить та границя до Міхметату з півночі, і повертається границя на схід до Таанат-Шіло, та й переходить його зо сходу до Яноаху.

7 T hen it went down from Janoah to Ataroth and to Naarah, touched Jericho, and ended at the Jordan.

І сходить вона з Яноаху до Атароту та до Наари, і дотикає Єрихону, і виходить до Йордану.

8 T he border went out from Tappuah westward to the brook Kanah and ended at the Sea. This is the inheritance of the Ephraimites by their families,

А з Таппуаху границя йде на захід до потоку Кана, та й закінчується при морі. Це спадок племени Єфремових синів за їхніми родами.

9 W ith the towns set apart for the Ephraimites within the inheritance of the Manassites, all those towns with their villages.

І міста, відділені для Єфремових синів, були серед спадку Манасіїних синів, усі ті міста та їхні оселі.

10 B ut they did not drive out the Canaanites who dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites to this day, and they became slaves required to do forced labor.

Та не вигнали вони ханаанеянина, що сидів у Ґезері. І сидів ханаанеянин посеред Єфрема і так є аж до цього дня, і давав данину працею.
