1 T he sin of Judah is written with a pen or stylus of iron and with the point of a diamond; it is engraved on the tablets of their hearts and on the horns of their altars,

Гріх Юдин написаний рильцем залізним, діямантовим вістрям він виритий на таблиці їхнього серця, і на рогах жертовників їхніх.

2 W hile their children remember their altars and their Asherim beside the green trees upon the high hills.

Як про синів своїх, так пам'ятають про жертовники своїх та своїх Ашер при зеленому дереві, на високих підгірках,

3 O My mountain in the field, I will give your wealth and all your treasures to the spoil and your high places for sin throughout all your territory.

про гору на полі. Багатство твоє й твої скарби на здобич віддам, пагірки жертовні твої за гріх по всіляких границях твоїх.

4 A nd you, through your own fault, will loosen your hand and discontinue from your heritage which I gave you; and I will cause you to serve your enemies in a land which you do not know, for you have kindled a fire in My anger which will burn throughout the ages.

І опустиш ти руку свою спадку свого, що Я дав був тобі... І вчиню, що ти будеш служити своїм ворогам у тім краї, якого не знаєш, бо огонь запалили ви в гніві Моїм, й аж навіки палатиме він!

5 T hus says the Lord: Cursed is the strong man who trusts in and relies on frail man, making weak flesh his arm, and whose mind and heart turn aside from the Lord.

Так говорить Господь: Проклятий той муж, що надію кладе на людину, і робить раменом своїм слабу плоть, а від Господа серце його відступає!

6 F or he shall be like a shrub or a person naked and destitute in the desert; and he shall not see any good come, but shall dwell in the parched places in the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land.

І він буде, як голий той кущ у степу, і не побачить, щоб добре прийшло, і він пробуватиме в краї сухому в пустині, у краї солоному та незамешканому...

7 b lessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is.

Благословенний той муж, що покладається на Господа, що Господь то надія його!

8 F or he shall be like a tree planted by the waters that spreads out its roots by the river; and it shall not see and fear when heat comes; but its leaf shall be green. It shall not be anxious and full of care in the year of drought, nor shall it cease yielding fruit.

І він буде, як дерево те, над водою посаджене, що над потоком пускає коріння своє, і не боїться, як прийде спекота, і його листя зелене, і в році посухи не буде журитись, і не перестане приносити плоду!

9 T he heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly perverse and corrupt and severely, mortally sick! Who can know it ?

Людське серце найлукавіше над все та невигойне, хто пізнає його?

10 I the Lord search the mind, I try the heart, even to give to every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.

Я Господь, що досліджує серце, що випробовує нирки, щоб кожному дати згідно з путтю його, за плодом учинків його.

11 L ike the partridge that gathers a brood which she did not hatch and sits on eggs which she has not laid, so is he who gets riches by unjust means and not by right. He will leave them, or they will leave him, in the midst of his days, and at his end he will be a fool.

Куропатва висиджує яйця, яких не принесла, це той, хто багатство набув, та неправдою: він покине його в половині днів своїх, і стане безумним при своєму кінці...

12 A glorious throne, set on high from the beginning, is the place of our sanctuary (the temple).

Трон слави, високий від віку, це місце нашої святині!

13 O Lord, the Hope of Israel, all who forsake You shall be put to shame. They who depart from You and me shall writing upon the ground, because they have forsaken the Lord, the Fountain of living waters.

Надіє Ізраїлева, Господи, посоромлені будуть усі, хто Тебе залишає! Ті, що Мене покидають, на піску будуть списані, бо вони покинули Господа, джерело живої води.

14 H eal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise.

Уздоров мене, Господи, і буду вздоровлений я, спаси Ти мене, і я буду спасений, бо Ти слава моя!

15 B ehold, they say to me, Where is the word of the Lord ? Let it come now!

Ось вони мені кажуть: Де слово Господнє? Нехай воно прийде!

16 B ut as for me, I have not sought to escape from being a shepherd after You, nor have I desired the woeful day; You know that. Whatever I said was spoken in Your presence and was from You.

А я не відтягавсь бути пастирем в Тебе, не жадав злого дня, Ти це знаєш, що виходило з уст моїх, те перед лицем Твоїм явне було.

17 B e not a terror to me; You are my refuge and my hope in the day of evil.

Не будь Ти для мене страхіттям, на день зла Ти моє пристановище!

18 L et those be put to shame who persecute me, but let me not be put to shame; let them be dismayed, but let me not be dismayed. Bring on them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.

Бодай посоромились ті, хто мене переслідує, а я щоб не був посоромлений, нехай побентежені будуть вони, а я хай не буду збентежений, день злого на них наведи та зламай їх подвійним зламанням!

19 T hus said the Lord to me: Go and stand in the gate of the sons of the people, through which the kings of Judah enter and through which they go out, and also in all the gates of Jerusalem.

Так промовив до мене Господь: Іди, і станеш у брамі синів народу, що юдські царі входять нею та нею виходять, та по всіх брамах Єрусалиму.

20 S ay to them, Hear the word of the Lord, you kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem who enter through these gates.

І скажеш до них: Послухайте слова Господнього, царі юдські й уся Юдеє, та всі мешканці Єрусалиму, що входите брамами тими.

21 T hus says the Lord: Take heed to yourselves and for the sake of your lives bear no burden on the Sabbath day or bring it in through the gates of Jerusalem.

Так говорить Господь: Стережіться за душі свої, і не носіть тягару за суботнього дня, і не носіть його брамами Єрусалиму.

22 A nd do not carry a burden out of your houses on the Sabbath day or do any work, but keep the Sabbath day holy (set apart to the worship of God), as I commanded your fathers.

І не носіть тягару з домів ваших суботнього дня, і жодної праці робити не будете, і день суботній освятите, як Я вашим батькам наказав був!

23 Y et they would not listen and obey or incline their ears; but they stiffened their necks, that they might not hear and might not receive instruction.

Та вони не послухали, й вуха свого не схилили, і вчинили себе тугошиїми, щоб не слухатися та не брати навчання.

24 B ut if you diligently listen to and obey Me, says the Lord, and bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the Sabbath day, but keep the Sabbath day holy (set apart to the worship of God), to do no work on it,

І буде, якщо Мене справді ви будете слухатись, каже Господь, щоб тягару не носити в брами міста цього за суботнього дня, і щоб освятити день суботній, і щоб жодної праці в цей день не робити,

25 T hen there will enter through the gates of this city kings and princes who will sit upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses—the kings and their princes, the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and this city will be inhabited and last throughout the ages.

то ходитимуть брамами міста цього царі та князі, що будуть сидіти на троні Давидовім, що їздити будуть колесницями й кіньми, вони й їхні правителі, юдеї та мешканці Єрусалиму, і це місто стоятиме вічно!

26 A nd people shall come from the cities of Judah and the places round about Jerusalem, from the land of Benjamin, from the lowland, from the hill country, and from the South (the Negeb), bringing burnt offerings and sacrifices, cereal offerings and frankincense, and bringing sacrifices of thanksgiving to the house of the Lord.

І будуть приходити з Юдиних міст та з околиць Єрусалиму, і з краю Веніяминового, і з рівнини, і з гір, і з півдня, і цілопалення й жертви приносити будуть, та жертву хлібну, і ладан, і будуть приносити жертву подяки до дому Господнього.

27 B ut if you will not listen to Me to keep the Sabbath day holy (set apart to the worship of God), and not to bear a burden and enter in at the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day, then I will kindle a fire in her gates, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.

А якщо ви Мене не послухаєтесь, щоб святити день суботній і щоб тягару не носити, і щоб брамами Єрусалиму суботнього дня не ходити, то огонь підпалю в їхніх брамах, і він поїсть єрусалимські палати, і не погасне!
