1 D avid assembled at Jerusalem all the leaders of Israel and of the tribes, the officers of the divisions that served the king in courses, and those over thousands and hundreds, and the stewards over all the property and livestock of the king and his sons, with the palace officers, the mighty men, and all the mighty warriors.

І зібрав Давид усіх Ізраїлевих князів, зверхників племен, і зверхників відділів, що служать цареві, і тисячників, і сотників, і зверхників усякого маєтку та добутку царя та синів його разом з евнухами та лицарями, та всякого хороброго вояка до Єрусалиму.

2 T hen David the king rose to his feet and said, Hear me, my brethren and my people. I myself intended to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord, as a footstool for our God, and I prepared materials for the building.

І встав цар Давид на ноги свої та й сказав: Послухайте мене, брати мої та народе мій! Я серцем своїм був за те, щоб збудувати храм миру для ковчега Господнього заповіту та на підніжок ніг нашого Бога, й я приготовив потрібне на збудування.

3 B ut God said to me, You shall not build a house for My Name, because you have been a man of war and have shed blood.

А Бог сказав мені: Ти не збудуєш храма для Мого Ймення, бо ти муж воєн і кров проливав.

4 H owever, the Lord, the God of Israel, chose me before all my father’s house to be king over Israel forever. For He chose Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah he chose the house of my father; and among the sons of my father He was pleased to make me king over all Israel;

Та вибрав Господь, Бог Ізраїлів, мене з усього дому батька мого, щоб бути царем над Ізраїлем навіки, бо Юду вибрав Він на володаря, а серед Юдиного дому дім батька мого, а серед синів мого батька мене уподобав Собі, щоб настановити царем над усім Ізраїлем.

5 A nd of all my sons, for the Lord has given me many sons, He has chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.

А зо всіх моїх синів, бо багатьох синів дав мені Господь то Він вибрав сина мого Соломона, щоб сидів на троні Господнього царства над Ізраїлем.

6 A nd He said to me, Solomon your son shall build My house and My courts, for I have chosen him to be My son, and I will be his father.

І Він сказав мені: Соломон, син твій, він збудує храма Мого та двори Мої, бо його Я вибрав Собі за сина, а Я буду йому за Отця.

7 I will establish his kingdom forever if he loyally and continuously obeys My commandments and My ordinances, as he does today.

І міцно поставлю Я царство його аж навіки, якщо він буде сильний, щоб виконувати заповіді Мої та постанови Мої, як цього дня.

8 N ow therefore, in the sight of all Israel, the assembly of the Lord, and in the hearing of our God, keep and seek all the commandments of the Lord your God, that you may possess this good land and leave it as an inheritance for your children after you forever.

А тепер на очах усього Ізраїля, Господнього збору, та в ушах нашого Бога говорю вам: Додержуйте й досліджуйте всі заповіді Господа, Бога вашого, щоб ви посіли цей добрий Край і віддали його в спадщину по собі синам вашим аж навіки.

9 A nd you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve Him with a blameless heart and a willing mind. For the Lord searches all hearts and minds and understands all the wanderings of the thoughts. If you seek Him you will find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever!

А тепер, сину мій Соломоне, знай Бога, Отця твого, і служи Йому всім серцем та всією душею, бо Господь вивідує всі серця та знає всякий витвір думок. Якщо будеш шукати Його, то ти знайдеш Його, а якщо залишиш Його, Він залишить тебе назавжди.

10 T ake heed now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary. Be strong and do it!

Тепер дивися, що Господь вибрав тебе збудувати дім на святиню. Будь міцний та роби!

11 T hen David gave Solomon his son the plan of the vestibule of the temple, its houses, its treasuries, its upper chambers, its inner rooms, and of the place for the mercy seat;

І Давид дав своєму синові Соломонові взори Господнього дому: притвору, і домів його, і скарбниць його, і горниць його, і кімнат його внутрішніх, і дому для ковчегу,

12 A nd the plan of all that he had in mind for the courts of the house of the Lord, all the surrounding chambers, the treasuries of the house of God, and the treasuries for the dedicated gifts;

і взір усього, що було в дусі його для подвір'я Господнього дому, і для всіх кімнат навколо, для скарбів Божого дому та для скарбів святині,

13 T he plan for the divisions of the priests and the Levites, for all the work of the service in the house of the Lord; for all the vessels for service in the house of the Lord:

і для відділів священиків та Левитів, і для всякої праці служби Господнього дому, і для всяких речей для служби Господнього дому.

14 T he weight of gold and silver for all the gold and silver articles of every kind of service—

І дав він золота вагою для золота, для всіх речей кожної служби; і срібла для всіх срібних речей вагою, для всіх речей кожної служби;

15 T he weight of the golden lampstands and their lamps, the weight of gold or silver for each lampstand and its lamps, according to the use of each lampstand;

і вагу для золотих свічників та золотих їхніх лямпадок, вагою кожного свічника та лямпадок його, і для срібних свічників, вагою для свічника та лямпадок його, за роботою кожного свічника.

16 T he gold by weight for each table of showbread, and the silver for the tables of silver;

І дав золота вагою для столів хлібів показних, для кожного столу і срібла для срібних столів,

17 A lso pure gold for the forks, basins, and cups; for the golden bowls by weight of each; for the silver bowls by weight of each;

і видельця, і кропильниці, і чарки чисте золото, і для золотих келіхів вагою для кожного келіха, і для келіхів срібних, вагою для кожного келіха.

18 F or the incense altar refined gold by weight, and gold for the plan of the chariot of the cherubim that spread their wings and covered the ark of the Lord’s covenant.

А для кадильного жертівника дав очищеного золота вагою, і на подобу воза, для золотих херувимів, що простягають крила свої й покривають над ковчегом Господнього заповіту.

19 A ll this the Lord made me understand by the writing by His hand upon me, all the work to be done according to the plan.

Усе це він зрозумів із письма з Господньої руки, що була над ним, усі роботи взору.

20 A lso David told Solomon his son, Be strong and courageous, and do it. Fear not, be not dismayed, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail or forsake you until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.

І сказав Давид до сина свого Соломона: Будь сильний і будь відважний, і роби, не бійся та не лякайся, бо Господь Бог, Бог мій, з тобою, Він не покине тебе й не позоставить тебе аж до закінчення всієї праці роботи Господнього дому...

21 A nd see, the divisions of the priests and Levites for all the service of God’s house, and with you in all the kinds of work will be every willing, skillful man for any kind of service. Also the officers and all the people will be wholly at your command.

А оце черги священиків та Левитів для всякої служби Божого дому. І будуть з тобою в усякій праці ревні люди, здібні на всяку службу, а начальники та ввесь народ, на всі накази твої.
