1 I t is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, impurity of a sort that is condemned and does not occur even among the heathen; for a man has father’s wife.

Se ha sabido que hay entre vosotros fornicación, y fornicación cual ni aun se nombra entre los gentiles; a tal extremo que alguno tiene a la mujer de su padre.

2 A nd you are proud and arrogant! And you ought rather to mourn (bow in sorrow and in shame) until the person who has done this thing is removed from your fellowship and your midst!

Y vosotros estáis envanecidos. ¿No debierais más bien lamentarlo y haber quitado de en medio de vosotros al que cometió tal acción?

3 A s for my attitude, though I am absent in body, I am present in spirit, and I have already decided and passed judgment, as if actually present,

Ciertamente yo, como ausente en cuerpo pero presente en espíritu, como si estuviera presente he juzgado ya al que tal cosa ha hecho.

4 I n the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, on the man who has committed such a deed. When you and my own spirit are met together with the power of our Lord Jesus,

En el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, reunidos vosotros y mi espíritu, con el poder de nuestro Señor Jesucristo,

5 Y ou are to deliver this man over to Satan for physical discipline, that spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

el tal sea entregado a Satanás para destrucción de la carne, a fin de que el espíritu sea salvo en el día del Señor Jesús.

6 y our boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven will ferment the whole lump ?

No es buena vuestra jactancia. ¿Acaso no sabéis que un poco de levadura fermenta toda la masa?

7 P urge (clean out) the old leaven that you may be fresh (new) dough, still uncontaminated, for Christ, our Passover, has been sacrificed.

Limpiaos, pues, de la vieja levadura, para que seáis nueva masa, como sois, sin levadura, porque nuestra Pascua, que es Cristo, ya fue sacrificada por nosotros.

8 T herefore, let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with leaven of vice and malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened of purity (nobility, honor) and sincerity and truth.

Así que celebremos la fiesta, no con la vieja levadura ni con la levadura de malicia y de maldad, sino con panes sin levadura, de sinceridad y de verdad.

9 I wrote you in my letter not to associate with unchaste (impure) people—

Os he escrito por carta que no os juntéis con los fornicarios.

10 N ot altogether shun the immoral people of this world, or the greedy graspers and cheats and thieves or idolaters, since otherwise you would need to get out of the world and human society altogether!

No me refiero en general a todos los fornicarios de este mundo, ni a todos los avaros, ladrones, o idólatras, pues en tal caso os sería necesario salir del mundo.

11 B ut now I write to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is known to be guilty of immorality or greed, or is an idolater, or is a person with a foul tongue, or is a drunkard or a swindler or a robber. you must not so much as eat with such a person.

Más bien os escribí para que no os juntéis con ninguno que, llamándose hermano, sea fornicario, avaro, idólatra, maldiciente, borracho o ladrón; con el tal ni aun comáis,

12 W hat of mine is it and what right have I to judge outsiders? Is it not those inside upon whom you are to pass disciplinary judgment ?

porque ¿qué razón tendría yo para juzgar a los que están fuera? ¿No juzgáis vosotros a los que están dentro?

13 G od alone sits in judgment on those who are outside. Drive out that wicked one from among you.

A los que están fuera, Dios los juzgará. Quitad, pues, a ese perverso de entre vosotros.
