1 T hus says the Lord: Heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool. What kind of house would you build for Me? And what kind can be My resting-place?

Jehová ha dicho: «El cielo es mi trono y la tierra el estrado de mis pies. ¿Dónde está la casa que me habréis de edificar? ¿Dónde el lugar de mi reposo?

2 F or all these things My hand has made, and so all these things have come into being, says the Lord. But this is the man to whom I will look and have regard: he who is humble and of a broken or wounded spirit, and who trembles at My word and reveres My commands.

Mi mano hizo todas estas cosas, así todas ellas llegaron a ser», dice Jehová. «Pero yo miraré a aquel que es pobre y humilde de espíritu y que tiembla a mi palabra.

3 H e who kills an ox will be as guilty as if he slew and sacrificed a man; he who sacrifices a lamb or a kid, as if he broke a dog’s neck and sacrificed him; he who offers a cereal offering, as if he offered swine’s blood; he who burns incense, as if he blessed an idol. have chosen their own ways, and they delight in their abominations;

El que sacrifica buey es como si matara a un hombre; el que sacrifica oveja, como si degollara a un perro; el que hace ofrenda, como si ofreciera sangre de cerdo; el que quema incienso, como si bendijera a un ídolo. Pues porque escogieron sus propios caminos y su alma amó sus abominaciones,

4 S o I also will choose their delusions and mockings, their calamities and afflictions, and I will bring their fears upon them—because when I called, no one answered; when I spoke, they did not listen or obey. But they did what was evil in My sight and chose that in which I did not delight.

también yo escogeré para ellos desgracias y traeré sobre ellos lo que temen; porque llamé, pero nadie respondió; hablé, pero no escucharon, sino que hicieron lo malo delante de mis ojos y escogieron lo que no me agrada.»

5 H ear the word of the Lord, you who tremble at His word: Your brethren who hate you, who cast you out for My name’s sake, have said, Let the Lord be glorified, that we may see your joy! But it is they who shall be put to shame.

Oíd palabra de Jehová, vosotros los que tembláis a su palabra: «Vuestros hermanos que os aborrecen y os echan fuera por causa de mi nombre, dijeron: “¡Sea Jehová glorificado y veamos nosotros vuestra alegría!” Pero ellos serán avergonzados.

6 A n uproar from the city! A voice from the temple! The voice of the Lord, rendering recompense to His enemies!

¡Voz de alboroto de la ciudad, voz del Templo, voz de Jehová que da el pago a sus enemigos!

7 B efore travailed, she gave birth; before her pain came upon her, she was delivered of a male child.

»¡Antes que estuviera de parto, dio a luz; antes que le vinieran dolores, dio a luz un hijo!

8 W ho has heard of such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall a land be born in one day? Or shall a nation be brought forth in a moment? For as soon as Zion was in labor, she brought forth her children.

¿Quién oyó cosa semejante? ¿quién vio tal cosa? ¿Concebirá la tierra en un día? ¿Nacerá una nación de una sola vez? Pues en cuanto Sión estuvo de parto, dio a luz a sus hijos.

9 S hall I bring to the birth and not cause to bring forth? says the Lord. Shall I Who causes to bring forth shut the womb? says your God.

Yo que hago dar a luz, ¿no haré nacer?», dice Jehová. «Yo que hago engendrar, ¿impediré el nacimiento?» dice tu Dios.

10 R ejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice for joy with her, all you who mourn over her,

«Alegraos con Jerusalén, gozaos con ella todos los que la amáis; llenaos de gozo con ella todos los que os enlutáis por ella,

11 T hat you may nurse and be satisfied from her consoling breasts, that you may drink deeply and be delighted with the abundance and brightness of her glory.

para que maméis y os saciéis de los pechos de sus consolaciones, para que bebáis y os deleitéis con la plenitud de su gloria.»

12 F or thus says the Lord: Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream; then you will be nursed, you will be carried on her hip and trotted on her knees.

Porque así dice Jehová: «He aquí que yo extiendo sobre ella la paz como un río y las riquezas de las naciones como un torrente que se desborda; y mamaréis, en los brazos seréis traídos y sobre las rodillas seréis mimados.

13 A s one whom his mother comforts, so will I comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

Como aquel a quien consuela su madre, así os consolaré yo a vosotros, y en Jerusalén recibiréis consuelo.»

14 W hen you see this, your heart shall rejoice; your bones shall flourish like green and tender grass. And the hand of the Lord shall be revealed and known to be with His servants, but His indignation to be against His enemies.

Lo veréis y se alegrará vuestro corazón, y vuestros huesos reverdecerán como la hierba. La mano de Jehová para con sus siervos se dará a conocer y se enojará contra sus enemigos.

15 F or behold, the Lord will come in fire, and His chariots will be like the stormy wind, to render His anger with fierceness, and His rebuke with flames of fire.

Porque he aquí que Jehová vendrá con fuego y sus carros como un torbellino, para descargar su ira con furor y su reprensión con llama de fuego.

16 F or by fire and by His sword will the Lord execute judgment upon all flesh, and the slain of the Lord will be many.

Porque Jehová juzgará con fuego y con su espada a todo hombre; y los muertos por Jehová serán multiplicados.

17 T hose who sanctify themselves and cleanse themselves to enter in the gardens, following after one in the midst, eating hog’s flesh and the abomination and the shall come to an end together, says the Lord.

«Los que se santifican y los que se purifican en los huertos, unos tras otros, y los que comen carne de cerdo y abominación y ratón, juntamente serán talados», ha dicho Jehová.

18 F or I know their works and their thoughts. And the time is coming when I will gather all nations and tongues, and they will come and see My glory.

«Porque yo conozco sus obras y sus pensamientos; tiempo vendrá para juntar a todas las naciones y lenguas: vendrán y verán mi gloria.

19 A nd I will set up a sign among them, and from them I will send survivors to the nations—to Tarshish, Pul (Put), and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to the isles and coastlands afar off that have not heard of My fame nor seen My glory. And they will declare and proclaim My glory among the nations.

Pondré entre ellos una señal y enviaré a los sobrevivientes de ellos a las naciones: a Tarsis, a Fut y a Lud que disparan arco, a Tubal y a Javán, a las costas lejanas que no han oído de mí ni han visto mi gloria. Y publicarán mi gloria entre las naciones.

20 A nd they shall bring all your brethren from all the nations as an offering to the Lord—upon horses and in chariots and in litters and upon mules and upon camels—to My holy mountain Jerusalem, says the Lord, just as the children of Israel bring their cereal offering in a clean vessel to the house of the Lord.

»Y traerán a todos vuestros hermanos de entre todas las naciones, como una ofrenda para Jehová, en caballos, en carros, en literas, en mulos y en camellos, a mi santo monte de Jerusalén», dice Jehová, «al modo que los hijos de Israel traen la ofrenda en utensilios limpios a la casa de Jehová.

21 A nd I will also take some of them for priests and for Levites, says the Lord.

Y tomaré también de ellos para sacerdotes y levitas», dice Jehová.

22 F or as the new heavens and the new earth which I make shall remain before Me, says the Lord, so shall your offspring and your name remain.

«Porque como los cielos nuevos y la nueva tierra que yo hago permanecerán delante de mí», dice Jehová, «así permanecerá vuestra descendencia y vuestro nombre.

23 A nd it shall be that from one New Moon to another New Moon and from one Sabbath to another Sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before Me, says the Lord.

»Y de mes en mes, y de sábado en sábado, vendrán todos a adorar delante de mí», dice Jehová.

24 A nd they shall go forth and gaze upon the dead bodies of the men who have stepped over against Me; for their worm shall not die, their fire shall not be quenched, and they shall be an abhorrence to all mankind.

«Saldrán y verán los cadáveres de los hombres que se rebelaron contra mí; porque su gusano nunca morirá ni su fuego se apagará. Y serán abominables para todo ser humano.»
