1 S olomon son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the Lord his God was with him and made him exceedingly great.

Salomón hijo de David fue afirmado en su reino, y Jehová, su Dios, estaba con él y lo engrandeció sobremanera.

2 S olomon spoke to all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every prince in all Israel, the heads of the fathers’ houses.

Convocó Salomón a todo Israel, a jefes de millares y de centenas, a jueces y a todos los príncipes de todo Israel, jefes de familias.

3 A nd Solomon and all the assembly with him went to the high place that was at Gibeon, for the Tent of Meeting of God, which Moses the servant of the Lord had made in the wilderness, was there.

Después Salomón fue con toda esta asamblea al lugar alto que había en Gabaón, pues allí estaba el Tabernáculo de reunión de Dios que Moisés, siervo de Jehová, había hecho en el desierto.

4 B ut David had brought up the ark of God from Kiriath-jearim to the place which David had prepared for it, for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.

Pero David había traído el Arca de Dios de Quiriat-jearim al lugar que él le había preparado; porque le había levantado una tienda en Jerusalén.

5 M oreover, the bronze altar that Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made was there before the tabernacle of the Lord, and Solomon and the assembly sought.

Asimismo el altar de bronce que había hecho Bezaleel hijo de Uri hijo de Hur, estaba allí, delante del tabernáculo de Jehová, al cual fue a consultar Salomón con aquella asamblea.

6 S olomon went up there to the bronze altar before the Lord at the Tent of Meeting and offered 1, 000 burnt offerings on it.

Subió, pues, Salomón allá delante de Jehová, al altar de bronce que estaba en el Tabernáculo de reunión, y ofreció sobre él mil holocaustos.

7 T hat night God appeared to Solomon and said to him, Ask what I shall give you.

Aquella noche se le apareció Dios a Salomón y le dijo: —Pídeme lo que quieras que yo te dé.

8 A nd Solomon said to God, You have shown great mercy and loving-kindness to David my father and have made me king in his place.

Salomón respondió a Dios: —Tú has tenido con David, mi padre, gran misericordia, y a mí me has puesto por rey en lugar suyo.

9 N ow, O Lord God, let Your promise to David my father be fulfilled, for you have made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.

Ahora pues, Jehová Dios, que se cumpla la palabra que le diste a David, mi padre; porque tú me has puesto por rey sobre un pueblo numeroso como el polvo de la tierra.

10 G ive me now wisdom and knowledge to go out and come in before this people, for who can rule this Your people who are so great?

Dame ahora sabiduría y ciencia, para que sepa dirigir a este pueblo; porque ¿quién podrá gobernar a este tu pueblo tan grande?

11 G od replied to Solomon, Because this was in your heart and you have not asked for riches, possessions, honor, and glory, or the life of your foes, or even for long life, but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may rule and judge My people over whom I have made you king,

Respondió Dios a Salomón: —Por cuanto éste ha sido el deseo de tu corazón, y no pediste riquezas, bienes o gloria, ni la vida de los que procuran tu mal, ni pediste muchos días, sino que has pedido para ti sabiduría y ciencia para gobernar a mi pueblo, sobre el cual te he puesto por rey,

12 W isdom and knowledge are granted you. And I will give you riches, possessions, honor, and glory, such as none of the kings had before you, and none after you shall have their equal.

sabiduría y ciencia te son dadas; y también te daré riquezas, bienes y gloria, como nunca la tuvieron los reyes que fueron antes de ti, ni la tendrán los que vengan después de ti.

13 T hen Solomon came from the high place at Gibeon, from before the Tent of Meeting, to Jerusalem. And he reigned over Israel.

Y desde el lugar alto que estaba en Gabaón, delante del Tabernáculo de reunión, volvió Salomón a Jerusalén, y reinó sobre Israel. Salomón comercia en carros y caballos

14 S olomon gathered chariots and horsemen; he had 1, 400 chariots and 12, 000 horsemen, which he placed in the cities of chariots and with the king at Jerusalem.

Salomón reunió carros y gente de a caballo; y tuvo mil cuatrocientos carros y doce mil jinetes, los cuales puso en las ciudades destinadas a los carros y junto al rey en Jerusalén.

15 A nd the king made silver and gold in Jerusalem as common as stones, and he made cedar as plentiful as the sycamores of the lowland.

Hizo el rey que hubiera en Jerusalén tanta plata y oro como piedras, y que abundara el cedro como las higueras silvestres de la Sefela.

16 S olomon’s horses were brought out of Egypt; the king’s merchants received them in droves, each drove at a price.

Los mercaderes del rey compraban por contrato caballos y lienzos finos de Egipto para Salomón.

17 T hey imported from Egypt a chariot for 600 shekels of silver, and a horse for 150; so they brought out horses for all the Hittite and Syrian kings as export agents.

Subían y compraban en Egipto un carro por seiscientas piezas de plata y un caballo por ciento cincuenta. Y todos los reyes de los heteos y los reyes de Siria compraban así por medio de ellos.
