1 N ow on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been removed from (lifted out of the groove across the entrance of) the tomb.

El primer día de la semana, María Magdalena fue de mañana, siendo aún oscuro, al sepulcro, y vio quitada la piedra del sepulcro.

2 S o she ran and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him!

Entonces corrió y fue a Simón Pedro y al otro discípulo, aquel a quien amaba Jesús, y les dijo: —Se han llevado del sepulcro al Señor y no sabemos dónde lo han puesto.

3 U pon this, Peter and the other disciple came out and they went toward the tomb.

Salieron Pedro y el otro discípulo y fueron al sepulcro.

4 A nd they came running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and arrived at the tomb first.

Corrían los dos juntos, pero el otro discípulo corrió más aprisa que Pedro y llegó primero al sepulcro.

5 A nd stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying there, but he did not enter.

Y, asomándose, vio los lienzos puestos allí, pero no entró.

6 T hen Simon Peter came up, following him, and went into the tomb and saw the linen cloths lying there;

Luego llegó Simón Pedro tras él, entró en el sepulcro y vio los lienzos puestos allí,

7 B ut the burial napkin (kerchief) which had been around Jesus’ head, was not lying with the other linen cloths, but was rolled up (wrapped round and round) in a place by itself.

y el sudario, que había estado sobre la cabeza de Jesús, no puesto con los lienzos, sino enrollado en un lugar aparte.

8 T hen the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, went in too; and he saw and was convinced and believed.

Entonces entró también el otro discípulo que había venido primero al sepulcro; y vio, y creyó,

9 F or as yet they did not know (understand) the statement of Scripture that He must rise again from the dead.

pues aún no habían entendido la Escritura: que era necesario que él resucitara de los muertos.

10 T hen the disciples went back again to their homes (lodging places).

Y volvieron los discípulos a los suyos. Jesús se aparece a María Magdalena

11 B ut Mary remained standing outside the tomb sobbing. As she wept, she stooped down into the tomb.

Pero María estaba fuera llorando junto al sepulcro; mientras lloraba, se inclinó para mirar dentro del sepulcro,

12 A nd she saw two angels in white sitting there, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

y vio a dos ángeles con vestiduras blancas, que estaban sentados el uno a la cabecera y el otro a los pies, donde el cuerpo de Jesús había sido puesto.

13 A nd they said to her, Woman, why are you sobbing? She told them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.

Y le dijeron: —Mujer, ¿por qué lloras? Les dijo: —Porque se han llevado a mi Señor y no sé dónde lo han puesto.

14 O n saying this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know (recognize) that it was Jesus.

Dicho esto, se volvió y vio a Jesús que estaba allí; pero no sabía que era Jesús.

15 J esus said to her, Woman, why are you crying ? For Whom are you looking? Supposing that it was the gardener, she replied, Sir, if you carried Him away from here, tell me where you have put Him and I will take Him away.

Jesús le dijo: —Mujer, ¿por qué lloras? ¿A quién buscas? Ella, pensando que era el jardinero, le dijo: —Señor, si tú lo has llevado, dime dónde lo has puesto y yo lo llevaré.

16 J esus said to her, Mary! Turning around she said to Him in Hebrew, Rabboni!—which means Teacher or Master.

Jesús le dijo: —¡María! Volviéndose ella, le dijo: —¡Raboni! —que significa: «Maestro».

17 J esus said to her, Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to My brethren and tell them, I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.

Jesús le dijo: —¡Suéltame!, porque aún no he subido a mi Padre; pero ve a mis hermanos y diles: “Subo a mi Padre y a vuestro Padre, a mi Dios y a vuestro Dios.”

18 A way came Mary Magdalene, bringing the disciples news (word) that she had seen the Lord and that He had said these things to her.

Fue entonces María Magdalena para dar a los discípulos la noticia de que había visto al Señor, y que él le había dicho estas cosas. Jesús se aparece a los discípulos

19 T hen on that same first day of the week, when it was evening, though the disciples were behind closed doors for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, Peace to you!

Cuando llegó la noche de aquel mismo día, el primero de la semana, estando las puertas cerradas en el lugar donde los discípulos estaban reunidos por miedo de los judíos, llegó Jesús y, puesto en medio, les dijo: —¡Paz a vosotros!

20 S o saying, He showed them His hands and His side. And when the disciples saw the Lord, they were filled with joy (delight, exultation, ecstasy, rapture).

Dicho esto, les mostró las manos y el costado. Y los discípulos se regocijaron viendo al Señor.

21 T hen Jesus said to them again, Peace to you! as the Father has sent Me forth, so I am sending you.

Entonces Jesús les dijo otra vez: —¡Paz a vosotros! Como me envió el Padre, así también yo os envío.

22 A nd having said this, He breathed on them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit!

Y al decir esto, sopló y les dijo: —Recibid el Espíritu Santo.

23 ' > led and directed by Him] if you forgive the sins of anyone, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of anyone, they are retained.

A quienes perdonéis los pecados, les serán perdonados, y a quienes se los retengáis, les serán retenidos. Incredulidad de Tomás

24 B ut Thomas, one of the Twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came.

Pero Tomás, uno de los doce, llamado Dídimo, no estaba con ellos cuando Jesús se presentó.

25 S o the other disciples kept telling him, We have seen the Lord! But he said to them, Unless I see in His hands the marks made by the nails and put my finger into the nail prints, and put my hand into His side, I will never believe.

Le dijeron, pues, los otros discípulos: —¡Hemos visto al Señor! Él les dijo: —Si no veo en sus manos la señal de los clavos y meto mi dedo en el lugar de los clavos, y meto mi mano en su costado, no creeré.

26 E ight days later His disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, though they were behind closed doors, and stood among them and said, Peace to you!

Ocho días después estaban otra vez sus discípulos dentro, y con ellos Tomás. Llegó Jesús, estando las puertas cerradas, se puso en medio y les dijo: —¡Paz a vosotros!

27 T hen He said to Thomas, Reach out your finger here, and see My hands; and put out your hand and place in My side. Do not be faithless and incredulous, but believe!

Luego dijo a Tomás: —Pon aquí tu dedo y mira mis manos; acerca tu mano y métela en mi costado; y no seas incrédulo, sino creyente.

28 T homas answered Him, My Lord and my God!

Entonces Tomás respondió y le dijo: —¡Señor mío y Dios mío!

29 J esus said to him, Because you have seen Me, Thomas, do you now believe (trust, have faith)? Blessed and happy and to be envied are those who have never seen Me and yet have believed and adhered to and trusted and relied on Me.

Jesús le dijo: —Porque me has visto, Tomás, creíste; bienaventurados los que no vieron y creyeron. El propósito del libro

30 T here are also many other signs and miracles which Jesus performed in the presence of the disciples which are not written in this book.

Hizo además Jesús muchas otras señales en presencia de sus discípulos, las cuales no están escritas en este libro.

31 B ut these are written (recorded) in order that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ (the Anointed One), the Son of God, and that through believing and cleaving to and trusting and relying upon Him you may have life through (in) His name '> through Who He is].

Pero éstas se han escrito para que creáis que Jesús es el Cristo, el Hijo de Dios, y para que, creyendo, tengáis vida en su nombre.
