1 A gain David gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, 30, 000.

2 A nd arose and went with all the people who were with him to Baale-judah to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the name of the Lord of hosts, Who sits enthroned above the cherubim.

Se levantó David y partió de Baala de Judá con todo el pueblo que lo acompañaba para trasladar de allí el Arca de Dios, sobre la cual era invocado el nombre de Jehová de los ejércitos, que tiene su trono entre los querubines.

3 A nd they set the ark of God upon a new cart and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill; and Uzzah and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart.

Pusieron el Arca de Dios sobre un carro nuevo, y se la llevaron de la casa de Abinadab, que estaba en la colina. Uza y Ahío, hijos de Abinadab, guiaban el carro nuevo.

4 A nd they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill, with the ark of God; and Ahio went before the ark.

Mientras se llevaban de la casa de Abinadab, que estaba en la colina, el Arca de Dios, Ahío iba delante del Arca.

5 A nd David and all the house of Israel played before the Lord with all their might, with songs, lyres, harps, tambourines, castanets, and cymbals.

David y toda la casa de Israel danzaban delante de Jehová con toda clase de instrumentos de madera de haya, con arpas, salterios, panderos, flautas y címbalos.

6 A nd when they came to Nacon’s threshing floor, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled and shook it.

Cuando llegaron a la era de Nacón, Uza extendió su mano hacia el Arca de Dios y la sostuvo, pues los bueyes tropezaban.

7 A nd the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for touching the ark, and he died there by the ark of God.

Entonces el furor de Jehová se encendió contra Uza: allí mismo lo hirió Dios por aquella temeridad, y cayó allí muerto junto al Arca de Dios.

8 D avid was grieved and offended because the Lord had broken forth upon Uzzah, and that place is called Perez-uzzah to this day.

David se entristeció por haber herido Jehová a Uza, y fue llamado aquel lugar Pérez-uza, hasta el día de hoy.

9 D avid was afraid of the Lord that day and said, How can the ark of the Lord come to me?

Y temiendo David a Jehová aquel día, dijo: «¿Cómo ha de entrar en mi casa el Arca de Jehová?»

10 S o David was not willing to take the ark of the Lord to him into the City of David; but he took it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

De modo que David no quiso llevar a su casa, a la ciudad de David, el Arca de Jehová, sino que la hizo llevar a casa de Obed-edom, el geteo.

11 A nd the ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite for three months, and the Lord blessed Obed-edom and all his household.

Y estuvo el Arca de Jehová en casa de Obed-edom, el geteo, tres meses; y bendijo Jehová a Obed-edom y a toda su casa. David lleva el Arca a Jerusalén

12 A nd it was told King David, The Lord has blessed the house of Obed-edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into the City of David with rejoicing;

Cuando se le avisó al rey David: «Jehová ha bendecido la casa de Obed-edom y todo lo que tiene a causa del Arca de Dios», fue David y trasladó con alegría el Arca de Dios de casa de Obed-edom a la ciudad de David.

13 A nd when those who bore the ark of the Lord had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fatling.

Y cuando los que llevaban el Arca de Dios habían dado seis pasos, él sacrificó un buey y un carnero engordado.

14 A nd David danced before the Lord with all his might, clad in a linen ephod.

David, vestido con un efod de lino, danzaba con todas sus fuerzas delante de Jehová.

15 S o David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.

Así, con júbilo y sonidos de trompeta, David y toda la casa de Israel conducían el Arca de Jehová.

16 A s the ark of the Lord came into the City of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked out of the window and saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, and she despised him in her heart.

Cuando el Arca de Jehová llegaba a la ciudad de David, aconteció que Mical, hija de Saúl, miró desde una ventana, y al ver al rey David que saltaba y danzaba delante de Jehová, lo despreció en su corazón.

17 T hey brought in the ark of the Lord and set it in its place inside the tent which David had pitched for it, and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord.

Metieron, pues, el Arca de Jehová, y la pusieron en su lugar, en medio de una tienda que David le había levantado; y sacrificó David holocaustos y ofrendas de paz delante de Jehová.

18 W hen David had finished offering the burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts,

Cuando David acabó de ofrecer los holocaustos y ofrendas de paz, bendijo al pueblo en el nombre de Jehová de los ejércitos.

19 A nd distributed among all the people, the whole multitude of Israel, both to men and women, to each a cake of bread, a portion of meat, and a cake of raisins. So all the people departed, each to his house.

Después repartió a todo el pueblo y a toda la multitud de Israel, tanto a hombres como a mujeres, un pan a cada uno, un pedazo de carne y una torta de pasas. Y se fue todo el pueblo, cada uno a su casa.

20 T hen David returned to bless his household. And Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet David and said, How glorious was the king of Israel today, who stripped himself of his kingly robes and uncovered himself in the eyes of his servants’ maids as one of the worthless fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!

Volvió luego David para bendecir su casa; y salió a recibirlo Mical, y le dijo: —¡Cuán honrado ha quedado hoy el rey de Israel, descubriéndose hoy delante de las criadas de sus siervos, como se descubre sin decoro un cualquiera!

21 D avid said to Michal, It was before the Lord, Who chose me above your father and all his house to appoint me as prince over Israel, the people of the Lord. Therefore will I make merry before the Lord.

Entonces David respondió a Mical: —Fue delante de Jehová, quien me eligió en preferencia a tu padre y a toda tu casa, para constituirme como príncipe sobre el pueblo de Jehová, sobre Israel. Por tanto, danzaré delante de Jehová.

22 I will be still more lightly esteemed than this, and will humble and lower myself in my own sight. But by the maids you mentioned, I will be held in honor.

Y me humillaré aún más que esta vez; me rebajaré a tus ojos, pero seré honrado delante de las criadas de quienes has hablado.

23 A nd Michal the daughter of Saul had no child to the day of her death.

Y Mical, hija de Saúl, no tuvo ya hijos hasta el día de su muerte.
