1 D o not let your hearts be troubled (distressed, agitated). You believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely on God; believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely also on Me.

»No se turbe vuestro corazón; creéis en Dios, creed también en mí.

2 I n My Father’s house there are many dwelling places (homes). If it were not so, I would have told you; for I am going away to prepare a place for you.

En la casa de mi Padre muchas moradas hay; si así no fuera, yo os lo hubiera dicho; voy, pues, a preparar lugar para vosotros.

3 A nd when (if) I go and make ready a place for you, I will come back again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also.

Y si me voy y os preparo lugar, vendré otra vez y os tomaré a mí mismo, para que donde yo esté, vosotros también estéis.

4 A nd where I am going, you know the way.

Y sabéis a dónde voy, y sabéis el camino.

5 T homas said to Him, Lord, we do not know where You are going, so how can we know the way?

Le dijo Tomás: —Señor, no sabemos a dónde vas; ¿cómo, pues, podemos saber el camino?

6 J esus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me.

Jesús le dijo: —Yo soy el camino, la verdad y la vida; nadie viene al Padre sino por mí.

7 I f you had known Me, you would also have known My Father. From now on, you know Him and have seen Him.

Si me conocierais, también a mi Padre conoceríais; y desde ahora lo conocéis y lo habéis visto.

8 P hilip said to Him, Lord, show us the Father; then we shall be satisfied.

Felipe le dijo: —Señor, muéstranos el Padre y nos basta.

9 J esus replied, Have I been with all of you for so long a time, and do you not recognize and know Me yet, Philip? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say then, Show us the Father?

Jesús le dijo: —¿Tanto tiempo hace que estoy con vosotros y no me has conocido, Felipe? El que me ha visto a mí ha visto al Padre; ¿cómo, pues, dices tú: “Muéstranos el Padre”?

10 D o you not believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in Me? What I am telling you I do not say on My own authority and of My own accord; but the Father Who lives continually in Me does the ( His ) works (His own miracles, deeds of power).

¿No crees que yo soy en el Padre y el Padre en mí? Las palabras que yo os hablo, no las hablo por mi propia cuenta, sino que el Padre, que vive en mí, él hace las obras.

11 B elieve Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me; or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.

Creedme que yo soy en el Padre, y el Padre en mí; de otra manera, creedme por las mismas obras.

12 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.

»De cierto, de cierto os digo: El que en mí cree, las obras que yo hago, él también las hará; y aun mayores hará, porque yo voy al Padre.

13 A nd I will do whatever you ask in My Name '> presenting all that I Am ], so that the Father may be glorified and extolled in (through) the Son.

Todo lo que pidáis al Padre en mi nombre, lo haré, para que el Padre sea glorificado en el Hijo.

14 I will grant whatever you shall ask in My Name '> presenting all that I Am ].

Si algo pedís en mi nombre, yo lo haré. La promesa del Espíritu Santo

15 I f you love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands.

»Si me amáis, guardad mis mandamientos.

16 A nd I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever—

Y yo rogaré al Padre y os dará otro Consolador, para que esté con vosotros para siempre:

17 T he Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you and will be in you.

el Espíritu de verdad, al cual el mundo no puede recibir, porque no lo ve ni lo conoce; pero vosotros lo conocéis, porque vive con vosotros y estará en vosotros.

18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

»No os dejaré huérfanos; volveré a vosotros.

19 J ust a little while now, and the world will not see Me any more, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also.

Todavía un poco, y el mundo no me verá más, pero vosotros me veréis; porque yo vivo, vosotros también viviréis.

20 A t that time you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.

En aquel día vosotros conoceréis que yo estoy en mi Padre, y vosotros en mí y yo en vosotros.

21 T he person who has My commands and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and whoever loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will show (reveal, manifest) Myself to him.

El que tiene mis mandamientos y los guarda, ése es el que me ama; y el que me ama será amado por mi Padre, y yo lo amaré y me manifestaré a él.

22 J udas, not Iscariot, asked Him, Lord, how is it that You will reveal Yourself to us and not to the world?

Le dijo Judas (no el Iscariote): —Señor, ¿cómo es que te manifestarás a nosotros y no al mundo?

23 J esus answered, If a person loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home (abode, special dwelling place) with him.

Respondió Jesús y le dijo: —El que me ama, mi palabra guardará; y mi Padre lo amará, y vendremos a él y haremos morada con él.

24 A nyone who does not love Me does not observe and obey My teaching. And the teaching which you hear and heed is not Mine, but from the Father Who sent Me.

El que no me ama no guarda mis palabras; y la palabra que habéis oído no es mía, sino del Padre que me envió.

25 I have told you these things while I am still with you.

»Os he dicho estas cosas estando con vosotros.

26 B ut the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.

Pero el Consolador, el Espíritu Santo, a quien el Padre enviará en mi nombre, él os enseñará todas las cosas y os recordará todo lo que yo os he dicho.

27 P eace I leave with you; My peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

»La paz os dejo, mi paz os doy; yo no os la doy como el mundo la da. No se turbe vuestro corazón ni tenga miedo.

28 Y ou heard Me tell you, I am going away and I am coming to you. If you loved Me, you would have been glad, because I am going to the Father; for the Father is greater and mightier than I am.

Habéis oído que yo os he dicho: “Voy, y vuelvo a vosotros.” Si me amarais, os habríais regocijado, porque he dicho que voy al Padre, porque el Padre mayor es que yo.

29 A nd now I have told you before it occurs, so that when it does take place you may believe and have faith in and rely on Me.

Y ahora os lo he dicho antes que suceda, para que, cuando suceda, creáis.

30 I will not talk with you much more, for the prince (evil genius, ruler) of the world is coming. And he has no claim on Me.

No hablaré ya mucho con vosotros, porque viene el príncipe de este mundo y él nada tiene en mí.

31 B ut '> Satan is coming and] I do as the Father has commanded Me, so that the world may know (be convinced) that I love the Father and that I do only what the Father has instructed Me to do. Rise, let us go away from here.

Pero para que el mundo conozca que amo al Padre, y como el Padre me mandó, así hago. »¡Levantaos, vámonos de aquí!
