1 D o not let your hearts be troubled (distressed, agitated). You believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely on God; believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely also on Me.

لا يَنبَغِي أنْ تَضطَرِبَ قُلُوبُكُمْ. آمِنُوا بِاللهِ دائِماً وَآمِنُوا بِي.

2 I n My Father’s house there are many dwelling places (homes). If it were not so, I would have told you; for I am going away to prepare a place for you.

فِي بَيتِ أبِي غُرَفٌ كَثِيرَةٌ. وَلَوْ لَمْ يَكُنِ الأمرُ كَذَلِكَ، لأخبَرْتُكُمْ. أنا ذاهِبٌ إلَى هُناكَ لِأُهَيِّئَ مَكاناً لَكُمْ.

3 A nd when (if) I go and make ready a place for you, I will come back again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also.

وَبَعدَ أنْ أذْهَبَ وَأُهَيِّئَ لَكُمُ المَكانَ، سَآتِي ثانِيَةً وَآخُذُكُمْ، حَتَّى تَكُونُوا مَعِي حَيثُ أكُونُ.

4 A nd where I am going, you know the way.

أنتُمْ تَعرِفُونَ الطَّرِيْقَ إلَى حَيثُ أنا ذاهِبٌ.»

5 T homas said to Him, Lord, we do not know where You are going, so how can we know the way?

فَقالَ لَهُ تُوما: «نَحنُ لا نَعرِفُ إلَى أينَ أنتَ ذاهِبٌ يا رَبُّ! فَكَيفَ يُمكِنُنا أنْ نَعرِفَ الطَّرِيقَ؟»

6 J esus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me.

فَقالَ لَهُ يَسُوعُ: «أنا هُوَ الطَّرِيِقُ وَالحَقُّ وَالحَياةُ. لا أحَدَ يَأْتِي إلَى الآبِ إلّا بِي.

7 I f you had known Me, you would also have known My Father. From now on, you know Him and have seen Him.

لَو عَرَفْتُمُونِي لَعَرَفتُمْ أبِي أيضاً. وَمُنذُ الآنَ أنتُمْ تَعرِفُونَهُ وَقَدْ رَأيْتُمُوهُ.»

8 P hilip said to Him, Lord, show us the Father; then we shall be satisfied.

فَقالَ لَهُ فِيلِبُّسُ: «يا رَبُّ، أرِنا الآبَ، وَهَذا يَكفِيْنا.»

9 J esus replied, Have I been with all of you for so long a time, and do you not recognize and know Me yet, Philip? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say then, Show us the Father?

فَقالَ لَهُ يَسُوعُ: «أمضَيْتُ مَعكُمْ كُلَّ هَذِهِ المُدَّةِ الطَّوِيلَةِ، وَمازِلتَ لا تَعرِفُنِي يا فِيلِبُّسُ؟ مَنْ رَآنِي فَقَدْ رَأى الآبَ أيضاً، فَكَيفَ تَقُولُ: ‹أرِنا الآبَ›؟

10 D o you not believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in Me? What I am telling you I do not say on My own authority and of My own accord; but the Father Who lives continually in Me does the ( His ) works (His own miracles, deeds of power).

ألا تُؤمِنُ أنِّي أنا فِي الآبِ وَأنَّ الآبَ فِيَّ؟ ما أُكَلِّمُكُمْ بِهِ لا أتَكَلَّمُ بِهِ مِنْ عِندِي، فَالآبُ الَّذِي يَحيا فِيَّ هُوَ يَعمَلُ أعمالَهُ.

11 B elieve Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me; or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.

صَدِّقُونِي حِينَ أقُولُ إنِّي أنا فِي الآبِ وَإنَّ الآبَ فِيَّ، وَإلّا فَصَدِّقُونِي بِناءً عَلَى الأعمالِ نَفسِها.

12 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.

أقُولُ الحَقَّ لَكُمْ: مَنْ يُؤمِنُ بِي، سَيَعمَلُ أيضاً الأعمالَ الَّتِي أعمَلُها أنا، بَلْ وَسَيَعمَلُ أعظَمَ مِنها لِأنِّي ذاهِبٌ إلَى الآبِ.

13 A nd I will do whatever you ask in My Name '> presenting all that I Am ], so that the Father may be glorified and extolled in (through) the Son.

وَسَأفعَلُ لَكُمْ كُلَّ ما تَطلُبُونَهُ باسْمِي، لِكَي يَتَمَجَّدَ الآبُ بِالابْنِ.

14 I will grant whatever you shall ask in My Name '> presenting all that I Am ].

إنْ طَلَبتُمْ مِنِّي شَيئاً باسْمِي، فَإنِّي سَأفعَلُهُ.» الوَعدُ بِالرُّوحِ القُدُس

15 I f you love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands.

«إنْ كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَنِي فَسَتُطِيْعُونَ وَصايايَ.

16 A nd I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever—

وَسَأطلُبُ مِنَ الآبِ، وَسَيُعطِيكُمْ مُعِيْناً آخَرَ لِيَظَلَّ مَعَكُمْ إلَى الأبَدِ.

17 T he Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you and will be in you.

هُوَ رُوحُ الحَقِّ الَّذِيْ لا يَستَطِيْعُ العالَمُ أنْ يَقبَلَهُ، لِأنَّهُ لا يَراهُ وَلا يَعرِفُهُ. أمّا أنتُمْ فَتَعرِفُونَهُ لِأنَّهُ يَحيا مَعكُمْ وَسَيَكُونُ فِيكُمْ.

18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

لَنْ أترُكَكُمْ مِثلَ اليَتامَى، فَأنا آتٍ إلَيْكُمْ.

19 J ust a little while now, and the world will not see Me any more, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also.

بَعدَ قَلِيلٍ لَنْ يَعُودَ العالَمُ يَرانِي، أمّا أنتُمْ فَسَتَرَوْنَنِي وَسَتَحيَونَ لِأنِّي أنا أحَيا.

20 A t that time you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.

فِي ذَلِكَ اليَومِ، سَتَعرِفُونَ أنِّي أنا فِي الآبِ، وَأنَّكُمْ أنتُمْ فِيَّ، وَأنِّي أنا فِيْكُمْ.

21 T he person who has My commands and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and whoever loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will show (reveal, manifest) Myself to him.

مَنْ يَقبَلُ وَصايايَ وَيُطِيْعُها، فَهُوَ الَّذِي يُحِبُّنِي. وَمَنْ يُحِبُّنِي سَيُحِبُّهُ أبِي، وَأنا أيضاً سَأُحِبُّهُ وَسَأُعلِنُ لَهُ ذاتِي.»

22 J udas, not Iscariot, asked Him, Lord, how is it that You will reveal Yourself to us and not to the world?

فَقالَ لَهُ يَهُوذا، وَهُوَ غَيْرُ يَهُوذا الإسْخَريُوطِيِّ: «يا رَبُّ، لِماذا تَنوِي أنْ تُظهِرَ نَفسَكَ لَنا نَحنُ وَلَيْسَ لِلعالَمِ؟»

23 J esus answered, If a person loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home (abode, special dwelling place) with him.

أجابَهُ يَسُوعُ: «إنْ أحَبَّنِي أحَدٌ، فَسَيَحفَظُ كَلامِي، وَسَيُحِبُّهُ أبِي، وَسَنَأْتِي إلَيْهِ، وَنَسكُنُ مَعَهُ.

24 A nyone who does not love Me does not observe and obey My teaching. And the teaching which you hear and heed is not Mine, but from the Father Who sent Me.

مَنْ لا يُحِبُّنِي، لا يُطِيْعُ كَلامِي. الكَلامُ الَّذِي تَسمَعُونَهُ لَيْسَ مِنِّي، لَكِنَّهُ مِنَ الآبِ الَّذِي أرسَلَنِي.

25 I have told you these things while I am still with you.

حَدَّثْتُكُمْ بِهَذِهِ الأُمُورِ وَأنا بَعدُ مَعَكُمْ.

26 B ut the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.

لَكِنَّ المُعِيْنَ، الرُّوحَ القُدُسَ الَّذِي سَيُرسِلُهُ الآبُ إلَيْكُمْ باسْمِي، هُوَ سَيُعَلِّمُكُمْ كُلَّ شَيءٍ، وَسَيُذَكِّرُكُمْ بِكُلِّ ما قُلْتُهُ لَكُمْ.»

27 P eace I leave with you; My peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

«أتْرُكُ لَكُمْ سَلاماً. أُعطِيْكُمْ سَلامِي أنا. لا أُعطِيْكُمْ سَلاماً كَالَّذِي يُعطِيْهِ العالَمُ. فَلا تَضطَرِبْ قُلُوبُكُمْ أوْ تَجبُنْ.

28 Y ou heard Me tell you, I am going away and I am coming to you. If you loved Me, you would have been glad, because I am going to the Father; for the Father is greater and mightier than I am.

سَمِعْتُمُونِي أقُولُ لَكُمْ إنِّي ذاهِبٌ ثُمَّ إنِّي آتٍ إلَيْكُمْ ثانِيَةً. إنْ كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَنِي افرَحُوا لِأنِّي ذاهِبٌ إلَى الآبِ، فَالآبُ أعظَمُ مِنِّي.

29 A nd now I have told you before it occurs, so that when it does take place you may believe and have faith in and rely on Me.

ها أنا قَدْ أخبَرْتُكُمُ الآنَ قَبلَ أنْ يَحدُثَ هَذا، وَذَلِكَ لِكَيْ تُؤمِنُوا حِيْنَ يَحدُثُ.

30 I will not talk with you much more, for the prince (evil genius, ruler) of the world is coming. And he has no claim on Me.

«لَنْ أُطِيلَ الكَلامَ مَعَكُمُ الآنَ، لِأنَّ الَّذِي يَسُودُ عَلَى هَذا العالَمِ آتٍ، وَلَكِنْ لَيْسَ لَهُ قُوَّةٌ عَلَيَّ.

31 B ut '> Satan is coming and] I do as the Father has commanded Me, so that the world may know (be convinced) that I love the Father and that I do only what the Father has instructed Me to do. Rise, let us go away from here.

لَكِنَّ هَذِهِ الأُمُورَ تَحدُثُ لِكَيْ يَعرِفَ العالَمُ أنِّي أُحِبُّ الآبَ، وَأنِّي أفعَلُ تَماماً كَما أوصانِي. انهَضُوا الآنَ وَلْنَنطَلِقْ مِنْ هُنا.»
