1 W hen a man takes a wife and marries her, if then she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some indecency in her, and he writes her a bill of divorce, puts it in her hand, and sends her out of his house,
«إنَ تَزَوَّجَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ امْرأةٍ، لَكِنَّهُ لَمْ يُسَرَّ بِها لاحِقاً لِأنَّهُ وَجَدَ فِيها أمراً مُزعِجاً، وَكَتَبَ لَها وَثيقَةَ طَلاقٍ وَأعطاها لَها، وَصَرَفَها مِنْ بَيتِهِ،
2 A nd when she departs out of his house she goes and marries another man,
فَغادَرَتِ البَيتَ وَتَزَوَّجَتْ بِرَجُلٍ آخَرَ،
3 A nd if the latter husband dislikes her and writes her a bill of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his house, or if the latter husband dies, who took her as his wife,
وَالزَّوجُ الثّانِي لَمْ يُسَرَّ بِها أيضاً، فَكَتَبَ لَها وَثيقَةَ طَلاقٍ وَأعطاها لَها، وَصَرَفَها مِنْ بَيتِهِ، أوْ إنْ ماتَ زَوجُها الثّانِي،
4 T hen her former husband, who sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife after she is defiled. For that is an abomination before the Lord; and you shall not bring guilt upon the land which the Lord your God gives you as an inheritance.
فَإنَّ الزَّوجَ الأوَّلَ الَّذِي صَرَفَها لا يَستَطِيعُ أنْ يَتَزَوَّجَها ثانِيَةً، بَعدَ أنْ صارَتْ مُنَجَّسَةً بِالنِّسبَةِ لَهُ. اللهُ يُبغِضُ ذَلِكَ وَيَمْقُتُهُ. فَلا تَجلِبْ خَطيَّةً عَلَى الأرْضِ الَّتِي أعطاها إلَهُكَ لَكَ مِيراثاً.
5 W hen a man is newly married, he shall not go out with the army or be charged with any business; he shall be free at home one year and shall cheer his wife whom he has taken.
«حِينَ يَكُونُ الرَّجُلُ حَدِيثَ الزَّواجِ، فَإنَّهُ يُعفَى مِنَ الذَّهابِ مَعَ الجَيشِ، وَلا يُكَلَّفُ بِمَسؤلِيّاتٍ عامَّةٍ. وَيَكُونُ حُرّاً لِيَبقَى فِي بَيتِهِ لِسَنَةٍ واحِدَةٍ حَتَّى يُسعِدَ زَوجَتَهُ. شَرائِعُ مُتَفَرِّقَة
6 N o man shall take a mill or an upper millstone in pledge, for he would be taking a life in pledge.
«لا يَجُوزُ لِأحَدٍ أنْ يَأخُذَ أيٍّ مِنْ حَجَرَي الرَّحَى كَضَمانٍ عَلَى قَرضٍ، لِأنَّهُ يَأخُذُ شَيئاً أساسِيّاً لِلحَياةِ.
7 I f a man is found kidnapping any of his brethren of the Israelites and treats him as a slave or a servant or sells him, then that thief shall die. So you shall put evil from among you.
«إذا خَطَفَ أحَدٌ شَخْصاً مِنْ شَعبِهِ، بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ، وَاستَعبَدَهُ أوْ باعَهُ، فَإنَّ هَذا الخاطِفُ يُقتَلُ، فَتُزِيلُونَ الشَّرَّ مِنْ وَسَطِكُمْ.
8 T ake heed in the plague of leprosy, that you watch diligently and do according to all that the Levitical priests shall teach you. As I commanded them, so you shall be watchful and do.
«إذا أُصِبْتَ بِالبَرَصِ، فاحرِصْ عَلَى إطاعَةِ كُلِّ ما يُعَلِّمُهُ الكَهَنَةُ الَّلاوِيُّونَ لَكَ. وَاعْمَلْ ما أوصَيتُكَ بِهِ.
9 R emember what the Lord your God did to Miriam on the way after you had come out of Egypt.
وَتَذَكَّرْ ما عَمِلَهُ إلَهُكَ بِمَريَمَ فِي الرِّحلَةِ بَعْدَ خُرُوجِكُمْ مِنْ مِصْرَ.
10 W hen you lend your brother anything, you shall not go into his house to get his pledge.
«حِينَ تُقرِضُ شَخصاً أيَّ شَيءٍ، لا تَدخُلْ بَيتَهُ لِأخذِ ضَمانَتِهِ،
11 Y ou shall stand outside and the man to whom you lend shall bring the pledge out to you.
بَلْ قِفْ خارِجاً. الرَّجُلُ الَّذِي أقْرَضْتَهُ سَيُخرِجُ لَكَ الضَّمانَةَ.
12 A nd if the man is poor, you shall not keep his pledge overnight.
فَإنْ كانَ فَقِيراً، لا تَنَمْ فِي ثَوبِهِ الَّذِي أعطاهُ لَكَ كَضَمانةٍ.
13 Y ou shall surely restore to him the pledge at sunset, that he may sleep in his garment and bless you; and it shall be credited to you as righteousness (rightness and justice) before the Lord your God.
بَلْ أعِدْهُ إلَيهِ عِندَ غُرُوبِ الشَّمسِ لِيَنامَ فِيهِ فَيُبارِكَكَ. وَيَكُونُ هَذا حَسَناً أمامَ إلَهِكَ.
14 Y ou shall not oppress or extort from a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether he is of your brethren or of your strangers and sojourners who are in your land inside your towns.
«لا تَأكُلْ حَقَّ أجِيرٍ فَقِيرٍ وَمُحتاجٍ، سَواءٌ أكانَ إسرائِيلِيّاً أمْ غَرِيباً يَسكُنُ أرْضَكَ فِي إحدَى مُدُنِكَ.
15 Y ou shall give him his hire on the day he earns it before the sun goes down, for he is poor, and sets his heart upon it; lest he cry against you to the Lord, and it be sin to you.
ادْفَعْ لَهُ أُجرَتَهُ فِي اليَومِ ذاتِهِ قَبلَ غُرُوبِ الشَّمسِ، لِأنَّهُ فَقِيرٌ وَيَعتَمِدُ عَلَى أُجرَتِهِ. فَإنْ لَمْ تَفعَلْ فَإنَّهُ سَيَشتَكِي عَلَيكَ إلَى اللهِ فَتُحْسَبَ مُذنِباً أمامَهُ.
16 T he fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers; only for his own sin shall anyone be put to death.
«لا ينبَغِي أنْ يُقتَلَ الآباءُ لِأجلِ الأولادِ، وَلا أنْ يُقتَلَ الأولادُ لِأجلِ الآباءِ. بَلْ يُقتَلُ كُلُّ واحِدٍ عَنْ خَطِيَّتِهِ.
17 Y ou shall not pervert the justice due the stranger or the sojourner or the fatherless, or take a widow’s garment in pledge.
«لا تَحكُمْ عَلَى غَرِيبٍ أوْ يَتِيمٍ بِغَيرِ عَدلٍ، وَلا تَأخُذْ ثَوبَ أرمَلَةٍ كَضَمانَةٍ.
18 B ut you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt and the Lord your God redeemed you from there; therefore I command you to do this.
تَذَكَّرْ أنَّكَ كُنتَ عَبداً فِي مِصْرَ، وَأنَّ إلَهَكَ حَرَّرَكَ مِنْ هُناكَ. وَلِهَذا فَأنا أُوصِيكَ بِأنْ تَعمَلَ ذَلِكَ.
19 W hen you reap your harvest in your field and have forgotten a sheaf in the field, you shall not go back to get it; it shall be for the stranger and the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.
«إذا جَمَعتَ حَصادَ حَقلِكَ وَنَسِيتَ حُزمَةَ قَمحٍ فِي الحَقلِ، لا تَعُدْ لأخْذِها. سَتَكُونُ هَذِهِ الحُزمَةُ لَلغَرِيبِ وَاليَتِيمِ وَالأرمَلَةِ، لِيُبارِكَكَ إلَهُكَ فِي كُلِّ شَيءٍ تَعمَلُهُ.
20 W hen you beat your olive tree, do not go over the boughs again; the leavings shall be for the stranger and the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow.
وَحِينَ تَخبِطُ زَيتُونَكَ عَنْ أشجارِ الزَّيتُونِ، لا تَذهَبْ لِخَبطِ الأغصانِ ثانِيَةً. فَما يَتَبَقَّى مِنَ الزَّيتُونِ سَيَكُونُ لِلغَرِيبِ وَاليَتِيمِ وَالأرمَلَةِ.
21 W hen you gather the grapes of your vineyard, you shall not glean it afterward; it shall be for the stranger and the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow.
وَحِينَ تَجمَعُ العِنَبَ مِنَ الكَرْمِ، لا تَعُدْ لِجَمعِ العِنَبِ المُتَبَقِّي. فَما يَتَبَقَّى مِنَ العِنَبِ سَيَكُونُ لِلغَرِيبِ وَاليَتِيمِ وَالأرمَلَةِ.
22 Y ou shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt; therefore I command you to do this.
تَذَكَّرْ أنَّكَ كُنتَ عَبداً فِي أرْضِ مِصْرَ. وَلِهَذا فَأنا أُوصِيكَ بِأنْ تَعمَلَ ذَلِكَ.
