1 L isten to my words, O Lord, give heed to my sighing and groaning.

اسْمَعْ كَلِماتِي يا اللهُ! وَانتَبِهْ إلَى شَكْوايَ.

2 H ear the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to You do I pray.

إلَهِي وَمَلِكِي، اسْتَمِعْ لِي وَأنا أصرُخُ إلَيكَ، لأنِّي إلَيكَ أُصَلِّي.

3 I n the morning You hear my voice, O Lord; in the morning I prepare for You and watch and wait.

كُلَّ صَباحٍ أُسْمِعُ صَلاتِي إلَيكَ يا اللهُ ، أُصَلِّي إلَيكَ وَأنتَظِرُ.

4 F or You are not a God Who takes pleasure in wickedness; neither will the evil so much as dwell with You.

لَسْتَ إلَهاً يُسَرُّ بِالشَّرِّ، وَالأشْرارُ لا يَخْشَوْنَكَ.

5 B oasters can have no standing in Your sight; You abhor all evildoers.

وَالحَمقَى لا يَقِفُونَ قُدّامَكَ! أنتَ تَرفُضُ فاعِلِي الشَّرَّ.

6 Y ou will destroy those who speak lies; the Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.

يُهلِكُ المُتَكَلِّمِينَ بِالأكاذِيبِ. يَمقُتُ اللهُ القَتَلَةَ الَّذِينَ يَتَآمَرُونَ عَلَى الآخَرِينَ.

7 B ut as for me, I will enter Your house through the abundance of Your steadfast love and mercy; I will worship toward and at Your holy temple in reverent fear and awe of You.

أمّا أنا فَبِرَحمَتِكَ آتِي إلَى بَيتِكَ. أنحَنِي عابِداً تُجاهَ هَيكَلِكَ المُقَدَّسِ فِي خَوفٍ وَمَهابَةٍ.

8 L ead me, O Lord, in Your righteousness because of my enemies; make Your way level (straight and right) before my face.

أرْشِدْنِي يا اللهُ إلَى بِرِّكَ، فأنا مُحاطٌ بِالأعداءِ. اجعَلْ طَرِيقَكَ مُستَقِيماً أمامِي.

9 F or there is nothing trustworthy or steadfast or truthful in their talk; their heart is destruction; their throat is an open sepulcher; they flatter and make smooth with their tongue.

هُمْ لا يَنطِقُونَ بِالحَقِّ، فَإنَّ قُلُوبَهُمْ دَمارٌ. أفواهُهُمْ أشبَهُ بِقُبُورٍ مَفتُوحَةٍ. يَخدَعُونَ النّاسَ بِألسِنَتِهِمُ النّاعِمَةِ.

10 H old them guilty, O God; let them fall by their own designs and counsels; cast them out because of the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against You.

عاقِبْهُمْ يا اللهُ! مُؤامَراتُهُمْ سَتُدَمِّرُهُمْ. اسْحَقْهُمْ يا اللهُ بِسَبَبِ كَثْرَةِ مَعاصِيهِمْ. لِأنَّهُمْ تَمَرَّدُوا عَلَيكَ.

11 B ut let all those who take refuge and put their trust in You rejoice; let them ever sing and shout for joy, because You make a covering over them and defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You and be in high spirits.

أمّا الَّذِينَ يَتَّكِلُونَ عَلَيكَ فَسَيَفرَحُونَ! إلَى الأبَدِ سَيَبتَهِجُونَ. احْمِ مُحِبِّي اسْمِكَ، فَيَبْتَهِجُونَ بِكَ.

12 F or You, Lord, will bless the righteous; as with a shield You will surround him with goodwill (pleasure and favor).

حِينَ تُبارِكُ المُستَقِيمِينَ يا اللهُ ، فَكَأنَّكَ سِياجٌ يُحِيطُ بِهِمْ.
