1 H e who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty.

السّاكِنُ تَحتَ سِترِ العَلِيِّ، تُظَلِّلُهُ حِمايَةُ القَدِيرِ.

2 I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I trust!

أقُولُ للهِ الَّذِي أتَّكِلُ عَلَيهِ: «أنتَ إلَهِي وَمَلْجَأِي وَحِصنِي!»

3 F or He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.

مِنَ الفَخِّ سَيُنقِذُكَ. سَيُنقِذُكَ مِنَ المُصِيبَةِ وَالأوْبِئَةِ.

4 H e will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler.

سَيَفرِدُ جَناحَيهِ فَوقَكَ، وَيَدَعُكَ تَحتَمِي تَحتَ جَناحَيهِ. وَسَيَكُونُ إخلاصُهُ سِياجاً حامِياً حَولَكَ!

5 Y ou shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day,

لَنْ تَخشَى مِنْ رُعبِ اللَّيلِ، وَلا مِنْ سِهامِ العَدُوِّ الطّائِرَةِ فِي النَّهارِ!

6 N or of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction and sudden death that surprise and lay waste at noonday.

لَنْ تَخشَى مِنْ مَرَضٍ يَنتَشِرُ فِي الخَفاءِ. وَلا مِنْ وَباءٍ يَضرِبُ عِندَ الظُّهرِ.

7 A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you.

ألفٌ مِنْ جُنُودِ الأعادِي سَيَسقُطُونَ حَولَكَ. وَعَشْرَةُ آلافٍ سَيَسقُطُونَ بِسَيفِكَ، لَنْ يُؤذِيَكَ أيٌّ مِنهُمْ!

8 O nly a spectator shall you be as you witness the reward of the wicked.

أجَلْ، بِأُمِّ عَينَيكَ سَتَرَى كُلَّ هَذا! سَتَرَى الأشرارَ يَنالُونَ ما يَستَحِقُّونَ!

9 B ecause you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place,

لأنَّكَ جَعَلْتَ اللهَ مَلجَأكَ، وَالعَلِيَّ مَسكَنَكَ الآمِنَ.

10 T here shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent.

لِهَذا ما مِنْ مُصِيبَةٍ سَتُصِيبُكَ. وَما مِنْ وَباءٍ سَيَدخُلُ مَسكَنَكَ.

11 F or He will give His angels charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways.

لأنَّهُ يُوصِي مَلائِكَتَهُ بِكَ لِكَي يَحرُسُوكَ حَيثُما تَذهَبُ!

12 T hey shall bear you up on their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.

سَيَحْمِلونَكَ عَلَى أيادِيْهِمْ، لِئَلّا تَرتَطِمَ قَدَمُكَ بِحَجَرٍ.

13 Y ou shall tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the serpent shall you trample underfoot.

عَلَى الأسَدِ وَالأفعَى تَدُوسُ، وَتَطَأُ الشِبلَ وَالتَّنِّينَ!

14 B ecause he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name.

فَكَما يَقُولُ اللهُ: «يُحِبُّنِي، لِهَذا سَأُنقِذُهُ! سَأرفَعُهُ لأنَّهُ يَعتَرِفُ باسمِي.

15 H e shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

يَستَنجِدُ بِي فَأسْتَجِيبُ. فِي وَقتِ الضِّيقِ أكُونُ مَعَهُ. أُنقِذُهُ وَأُكَرِّمُهُ.

16 W ith long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.

أعطِيهِ عُمراً طَوِيلاً، وَأُرِيهِ خَلاصِي.»
