1 H e who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty.

El que habita en el escondedero del Altísimo, morará bajo la sombra del Omnipotente.

2 I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I trust!

Dirá al SEÑOR: Esperanza mía, y castillo mío; mi Dios, me aseguraré en él.

3 F or He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.

Y él te librará del lazo del cazador; de la mortandad que todo asuela.

4 H e will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler.

Con su ala te cubrirá, y debajo de sus alas estarás seguro; escudo y adarga es su verdad.

5 Y ou shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day,

No tendrás temor de espanto nocturno, ni de saeta que vuele de día;

6 N or of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction and sudden death that surprise and lay waste at noonday.

ni de pestilencia que ande en oscuridad, ni de mortandad que destruya al mediodía.

7 A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you.

Caerán a tu lado millares, y diez millares a tu diestra; pero a ti no llegará.

8 O nly a spectator shall you be as you witness the reward of the wicked.

Ciertamente con tus ojos mirarás, y verás la recompensa de los impíos.

9 B ecause you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place,

¶ Porque has puesto al SEÑOR, quien es mi esperanza; al Altísimo por tu habitación,

10 T here shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent.

no se ordenará para ti mal, ni plaga tocará tu morada.

11 F or He will give His angels charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways.

Porque a sus ángeles mandará acerca de ti, que te guarden en todos tus caminos.

12 T hey shall bear you up on their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.

En las manos te llevarán, para que tu pie no tropiece en piedra.

13 Y ou shall tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the serpent shall you trample underfoot.

Sobre el león y el basilisco pisarás; hollarás al cachorro del león, y al dragón.

14 B ecause he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name.

Por cuanto en mí ha puesto su voluntad, yo también lo libraré; lo pondré en alto, por cuanto ha conocido mi Nombre.

15 H e shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

Me invocará, y yo le responderé; con él estaré yo en la angustia; lo libraré, y le glorificaré.

16 W ith long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.

Lo saciaré de larga vida, y le mostraré mi salud.
