1 R ejoice in the Lord, O you righteous; for praise is becoming and appropriate for those who are upright.

Cantad justos en el SEÑOR; a los rectos es hermosa la alabanza.

2 G ive thanks to the Lord with the lyre; sing praises to Him with the harp of ten strings.

Celebrad al SEÑOR con arpa; cantadle con salterio y decacordio.

3 S ing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a loud and joyful sound.

¡Cantadle canción nueva! Hacedlo bien tañendo con júbilo.

4 F or the word of the Lord is right; and all His work is done in faithfulness.

Porque recta es la palabra del SEÑOR, y toda su obra es hecha con verdad.

5 H e loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the loving-kindness of the Lord.

El ama justicia y juicio; de la misericordia del SEÑOR está llena la tierra.

6 B y the word of the Lord were the heavens made, and all their host by the breath of His mouth.

Con la palabra del SEÑOR fueron hechos los cielos, y todo el ejército de ellos con el espíritu de su boca.

7 H e gathers the waters of the sea as in a bottle; He puts the deeps in storage places.

El junta como en un montón las aguas del mar; él pone por tesoros los abismos.

8 L et all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.

Tema al SEÑOR toda la tierra; teman de él todos los habitadores del mundo.

9 F or He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.

Porque él dijo, y fue hecho; él mandó, y existió.

10 T he Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nought; He makes the thoughts and plans of the peoples of no effect.

El SEÑOR hace anular el consejo de los gentiles, y hace anular las maquinaciones de los pueblos.

11 T he counsel of the Lord stands forever, the thoughts of His heart through all generations.

El consejo del SEÑOR permanecerá para siempre; los pensamientos de su corazón por todas las generaciones.

12 B lessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His heritage.

¶ Bienaventurada la gente de que el SEÑOR es su Dios; el pueblo a quien escogió por heredad para sí.

13 T he Lord looks from heaven, He beholds all the sons of men;

Desde los cielos miró el SEÑOR; vio a todos los hijos de Adán.

14 F rom His dwelling place He looks upon all the inhabitants of the earth—

Desde la morada de su asiento miró sobre todos los moradores de la tierra.

15 H e Who fashions the hearts of them all, Who considers all their doings.

El formó el corazón de todos ellos; él considera todas sus obras.

16 N o king is saved by the great size and power of his army; a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.

El rey no es salvo con la multitud del ejército; no escapa el valiente con la mucha fuerza.

17 A horse is devoid of value for victory; neither does he deliver any by his great power.

Vanidad es el caballo para la salvación; con la grandeza de su fuerza no librará.

18 B ehold, the Lord’s eye is upon those who fear Him, who wait for Him and hope in His mercy and loving-kindness,

He aquí, el ojo del SEÑOR sobre los que le temen, sobre los que esperan su misericordia;

19 T o deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.

para librar sus almas de la muerte, y para darles vida en el hambre.

20 O ur inner selves wait for the Lord; He is our Help and our Shield.

Nuestra alma esperó al SEÑOR; nuestra ayuda y nuestro escudo es él.

21 F or in Him does our heart rejoice, because we have trusted (relied on and been confident) in His holy name.

Por tanto en él se alegrará nuestro corazón, porque en el Nombre de su santidad hemos confiado.

22 L et Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, be upon us, in proportion to our waiting and hoping for You.

Sea tu misericordia, oh SEÑOR, sobre nosotros, como te hemos esperado.
