1 C antad justos en el SEÑOR; a los rectos es hermosa la alabanza.

Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous; for praise is becoming and appropriate for those who are upright.

2 C elebrad al SEÑOR con arpa; cantadle con salterio y decacordio.

Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre; sing praises to Him with the harp of ten strings.

3 ¡ Cantadle canción nueva! Hacedlo bien tañendo con júbilo.

Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a loud and joyful sound.

4 P orque recta es la palabra del SEÑOR, y toda su obra es hecha con verdad.

For the word of the Lord is right; and all His work is done in faithfulness.

5 E l ama justicia y juicio; de la misericordia del SEÑOR está llena la tierra.

He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the loving-kindness of the Lord.

6 C on la palabra del SEÑOR fueron hechos los cielos, y todo el ejército de ellos con el espíritu de su boca.

By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, and all their host by the breath of His mouth.

7 E l junta como en un montón las aguas del mar; él pone por tesoros los abismos.

He gathers the waters of the sea as in a bottle; He puts the deeps in storage places.

8 T ema al SEÑOR toda la tierra; teman de él todos los habitadores del mundo.

Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.

9 P orque él dijo, y fue hecho; él mandó, y existió.

For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.

10 E l SEÑOR hace anular el consejo de los gentiles, y hace anular las maquinaciones de los pueblos.

The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nought; He makes the thoughts and plans of the peoples of no effect.

11 E l consejo del SEÑOR permanecerá para siempre; los pensamientos de su corazón por todas las generaciones.

The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the thoughts of His heart through all generations.

12 ¶ Bienaventurada la gente de que el SEÑOR es su Dios; el pueblo a quien escogió por heredad para sí.

Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His heritage.

13 D esde los cielos miró el SEÑOR; vio a todos los hijos de Adán.

The Lord looks from heaven, He beholds all the sons of men;

14 D esde la morada de su asiento miró sobre todos los moradores de la tierra.

From His dwelling place He looks upon all the inhabitants of the earth—

15 E l formó el corazón de todos ellos; él considera todas sus obras.

He Who fashions the hearts of them all, Who considers all their doings.

16 E l rey no es salvo con la multitud del ejército; no escapa el valiente con la mucha fuerza.

No king is saved by the great size and power of his army; a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.

17 V anidad es el caballo para la salvación; con la grandeza de su fuerza no librará.

A horse is devoid of value for victory; neither does he deliver any by his great power.

18 H e aquí, el ojo del SEÑOR sobre los que le temen, sobre los que esperan su misericordia;

Behold, the Lord’s eye is upon those who fear Him, who wait for Him and hope in His mercy and loving-kindness,

19 p ara librar sus almas de la muerte, y para darles vida en el hambre.

To deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.

20 N uestra alma esperó al SEÑOR; nuestra ayuda y nuestro escudo es él.

Our inner selves wait for the Lord; He is our Help and our Shield.

21 P or tanto en él se alegrará nuestro corazón, porque en el Nombre de su santidad hemos confiado.

For in Him does our heart rejoice, because we have trusted (relied on and been confident) in His holy name.

22 S ea tu misericordia, oh SEÑOR, sobre nosotros, como te hemos esperado.

Let Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, be upon us, in proportion to our waiting and hoping for You.
