1 Y vino palabra del SEÑOR de los ejércitos, diciendo:

And the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying,

2 A sí dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Yo celé a Sion con gran celo, y con gran ira la celé.

Thus says the Lord of hosts: I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I am jealous for her with great wrath.

3 A sí dijo el SEÑOR: Yo restituiré a Sion, y moraré en medio de Jerusalén; y Jerusalén se llamará Ciudad de Verdad, y el monte del SEÑOR de los ejércitos, monte de Santidad.

Thus says the Lord: I shall return to Zion and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem, and Jerusalem shall be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of the Lord of hosts, the Holy Mountain.

4 A sí dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Aún han de morar ancianos y ancianas en las plazas de Jerusalén, y cada cual con bordón en su mano por la multitud de los días.

Thus says the Lord of hosts: Old men and old women shall again dwell in Jerusalem and sit out in the streets, every man with his staff in his hand for very age.

5 Y las calles de la ciudad serán llenas de muchachos y muchachas, que jugarán en ellas.

And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets.

6 A sí dice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Si esto parecerá dificultoso a los ojos del remanente de este pueblo en estos días, ¿también será dificultoso delante de mis ojos? Dice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos.

Thus says the Lord of hosts: Because it will be marvelous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days, should it also be marvelous in My eyes? says the Lord of hosts.

7 A sí dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: He aquí, yo salvo mi pueblo de la tierra del oriente, y de la tierra donde se pone el sol;

Thus says the Lord of hosts: Behold, I will save My people from the east country and from the west.

8 y los traeré, y habitarán en medio de Jerusalén; y me serán por pueblo, y yo seré a ellos por Dios con verdad y con justicia.

And I will bring them and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God in truth and faithfulness and in righteousness.

9 A sí dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Esfuércense vuestras manos, de vosotros los que oís en estos días estas palabras de la boca de los profetas, desde el día que se echó el cimiento a la Casa del SEÑOR de los ejércitos, para edificar el Templo.

Thus says the Lord of hosts: Let your hands be strong and hardened, you who in these days hear these words from the mouths of the prophets who on the day that the foundation of the house of the Lord of hosts was laid foretold that the temple should be rebuilt.

10 P orque antes de estos días no ha habido paga de hombre, ni paga de bestia, ni hubo paz alguna para entrante ni para saliente, a causa de la angustia; porque yo incité a todos los hombres, cada cual contra su compañero.

For before those days there was no hire for man nor any hire for beast, neither was there any peace or success to him who went out or came in because of the adversary and oppressor, for I set (let loose) all men, every one against his neighbor.

11 M as ahora no lo haré con el remanente de este pueblo como en aquellos días pasados, dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos.

But now I am not to the remnant of this people as in the former days, says the Lord of hosts.

12 P orque la simiente de la paz quedará; la vid dará su fruto, y la tierra dará su fruto, y los cielos darán su rocío; y haré que el remanente de este pueblo posea todo esto.

For there shall the seed produce peace and prosperity; the vine shall yield her fruit and the ground shall give its increase and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to inherit and possess all these things.

13 Y será que como fuisteis maldición entre los gentiles, oh Casa de Judá y Casa de Israel, así os salvaré, para que seáis bendición. No temáis, mas esfuércense vuestras manos.

And as you have been a curse and a byword among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so will I save you, and you shall be a blessing. Fear not, but let your hands be strong and hardened.

14 P orque así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Como pensé haceros mal cuando vuestros padres me provocaron a ira, dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, y no me arrepentí;

For thus says the Lord of hosts: As I thought to bring calamity upon you when your fathers provoked Me to wrath, says the Lord of hosts, and I did not relent or revoke your sentence,

15 a sí tornando he pensado hacer bien a Jerusalén y a la Casa de Judá en estos días; no temáis.

So again have I purposed in these days to do good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. Fear not!

16 E stas son las cosas que haréis: Hablad verdad cada cual con su prójimo; juzgad en vuestras puertas verdad y juicio de paz;

These are the things that you shall do: speak every man the truth with his neighbor; render the truth and pronounce the judgment or verdict that makes for peace in your gates.

17 y ninguno de vosotros piense mal en su corazón contra su prójimo, ni améis juramento falso; porque todas estas cosas son las que yo aborrezco, dijo el SEÑOR.

And let none of you think or imagine or devise evil or injury in your hearts against his neighbor, and love no false oath, for all these things I hate, says the Lord.

18 Y vino palabra del SEÑOR de los ejércitos a mí, diciendo:

And the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying,

19 A sí dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: El ayuno del cuarto mes, y el ayuno del quinto, y el ayuno del séptimo, y el ayuno del décimo, se tornarán a la Casa de Judá en gozo y alegría, y en festivas solemnidades. Amad, pues, la Verdad y la Paz.

Thus says the Lord of hosts: The fast of the fourth month and the fast of the fifth, the fast of the seventh and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah times of joy and gladness and cheerful, appointed seasons; therefore love truth and peace.

20 A sí dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Aún vendrán pueblos, y moradores de muchas ciudades;

Thus says the Lord of hosts: It shall yet come to pass that there shall come peoples and the inhabitants of many and great cities,

21 y vendrán los moradores de una ciudad a la otra, y dirán: Vamos a orar a la faz del SEÑOR, y busquemos al SEÑOR de los ejércitos. (Y el otro responderá:) Yo también iré.

And the inhabitants of one city shall go to them of another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray and entreat the favor of the Lord and to seek, inquire of, and require the Lord of hosts. I will go also.

22 Y vendrán muchos pueblos y fuertes naciones a buscar al SEÑOR de los ejércitos en Jerusalén, y a orar a la faz del SEÑOR.

Yes, many people and strong nations shall come to Jerusalem to seek, inquire of, and require the Lord of hosts and to pray to the Lord for His favor.

23 A sí dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: En aquellos días acontecerá que diez varones de todas las lenguas de los gentiles, tomarán del manto del varón judío, diciendo: Iremos con vosotros, porque hemos oído que Dios está con vosotros.

Thus says the Lord of hosts: In those days ten men out of all languages of the nations shall take hold of the robe of him who is a Jew, saying, Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.
