1 ¶ Y éstas son las generaciones de Esaú, el cual es Edom.

Now this is the history of the descendants of Esau, that is, Edom.

2 E saú tomó sus mujeres de las hijas de Canaán: a Ada, hija de Elón, el heteo, y a Aholibama, hija de Aná, hijo de Zibeón, el heveo;

Esau took his wives from the women of Canaan: Adah daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah daughter of Anah, the son of Zibeon the Hivite,

3 Y a Basemat, hija de Ismael, hermana de Nebaiot.

And Basemath, Ishmael’s daughter, sister of Nebaioth.

4 Y Ada dio a luz a Esaú a Elifaz; y Basemat dio a luz a Reuel.

Adah bore to Esau, Eliphaz; Basemath bore Reuel;

5 Y Aholibama dio a luz a Jeús, y a Jaalam, y a Coré: estos son los hijos de Esaú, que le nacieron en la tierra de Canaán.

And Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. These are the sons of Esau born to him in Canaan.

6 Y Esaú tomó sus mujeres, y sus hijos, y sus hijas, y todas las personas de su casa, y sus ganados, y todas sus bestias, y toda su hacienda que había adquirido en la tierra de Canaán, y se fue a otra tierra de delante de Jacob su hermano.

Now Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the members of his household, his cattle, all his beasts, and all his possessions which he had obtained in the land of Canaan, and he went into a land away from his brother Jacob.

7 P orque la hacienda de ellos era grande, y no podían habitar juntos, ni la tierra de su peregrinación los podía sostener a causa de sus ganados.

For their great flocks and herds and possessions made it impossible for them to dwell together; the land in which they were strangers could not support them because of their livestock.

8 Y Esaú habitó en el monte de Seir; Esaú es Edom.

So Esau dwelt in the hill country of Seir; Esau is Edom.

9 ¶ Estos son los linajes de Esaú, padre de Edom, en el monte de Seir.

And this is the history of the descendants of Esau the father of the Edomites in the hill country of Seir.

10 E stos son los nombres de los hijos de Esaú: Elifaz, hijo de Ada, mujer de Esaú; Reuel, hijo de Basemat, mujer de Esaú.

These are the names of Esau’s sons: Eliphaz, the son of Adah, Esau’s wife, and Reuel, the son of Basemath, Esau’s wife.

11 Y los hijos de Elifaz fueron Temán, Omar, Zefo, Gatam, y Cenaz.

And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.

12 Y Timna fue concubina de Elifaz, hijo de Esaú, la cual le dio a luz a Amalec: estos son los hijos de Ada, mujer de Esaú.

And Timna was a concubine of Eliphaz, Esau’s son; and she bore Amalek to Eliphaz. These are the sons of Adah, Esau’s wife.

13 Y los hijos de Reuel fueron Nahat, Zera, Sama, y Miza: estos son los hijos de Basemat, mujer de Esaú.

These are the sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These are the sons of Basemath, Esau’s wife.

14 E stos fueron los hijos de Aholibama, mujer de Esaú, hija de Aná, que fue hijo de Zibeón; ella dio a luz a Esaú a Jeús, Jaalam, y Coré.

And these are the sons of Oholibamah daughter of Anah, the son of Zibeon, Esau’s wife. She bore to Esau: Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.

15 E stos son los duques de los hijos de Esaú. Los hijos de Elifaz, primogénito de Esaú: el duque Temán, el duque Omar, el duque Zefo, el duque Cenaz,

These are the chiefs of the sons of Esau: The sons of Eliphaz the firstborn of Esau: Chiefs Teman, Omar, Zepho, Kenaz,

16 E l duque Coré, el duque Gatam, y el duque Amalec: estos son los duques de Elifaz en la tierra de Edom; estos son los hijos de Ada.

Korah, Gatam, and Amalek. These are the chiefs of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; they are the sons of Adah.

17 Y estos son los hijos de Reuel, hijo de Esaú: el duque Nahat, el duque Zera, el duque Sama, y el duque Miza; estos son los duques que salieron de Reuel en la tierra de Edom; estos son los hijos de Basemat, mujer de Esaú.

These are the sons of Reuel, Esau’s son: Chiefs Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, Mizzah. These are the chiefs of Reuel in the land of Edom; they are the sons of Basemath, Esau’s wife.

18 Y estos son los hijos de Aholibama, mujer de Esaú: el duque Jeús, el duque Jaalam, y el duque Coré; estos son los duques que salieron de Aholibama, mujer de Esaú, hija de Aná.

These are the sons of Oholibamah, Esau’s wife: Chiefs Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. These are the chiefs born of Oholibamah daughter of Anah, Esau’s wife.

19 E stos, pues, son los hijos de Esaú, y sus duques: él es Edom.

These are the sons of Esau, that is, Edom, and these are their chiefs.

20 ¶ Y estos son los hijos de Seir, el horeo, moradores de aquella tierra: Lotán, Sobal, Zibeón, Aná,

These are the sons of Seir the Horite, the inhabitants of the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,

21 D isón, Ezer, y Disán: estos son los duques de los horeos, hijos de Seir en la tierra de Edom.

Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. These are the chiefs of the Horites, the sons of Seir in the land of Edom.

22 L os hijos de Lotán fueron Hori y Hemam; y Timna fue hermana de Lotán.

The sons of Lotan are Hori and Hemam; and Lotan’s sister is Timna.

23 Y los hijos de Sobal fueron Alván, Manahat, Ebal, Sefo, y Onam.

The sons of Shobal are these: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.

24 Y los hijos de Zibeón fueron Aja, y Aná. Este Aná es el que inventó los mulos en el desierto, cuando apacentaba los asnos de Zibeón su padre.

These are the sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah. This is the Anah who found the hot springs in the wilderness as he pastured the donkeys of Zibeon his father.

25 L os hijos de Aná fueron Disón, y Aholibama, hija de Aná.

The children of Anah are these: Dishon and Oholibamah daughter of Anah.

26 Y estos fueron los hijos de Disón: Hemdán, Esbán, Itrán, y Querán.

These are the sons of Dishon: Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran.

27 Y estos fueron los hijos de Ezer: Bilhán, Zaaván, y Acán.

Ezer’s sons are these: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan.

28 E stos fueron los hijos de Disán: Uz, y Arán.

The sons of Dishan are these: Uz and Aran.

29 Y estos fueron los duques de los horeos: el duque Lotán, el duque Sobal, el duque Zibeón, el duque Aná.

The Horite chiefs are these: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,

30 E l duque Disón, el duque Ezer, el duque Disán: estos fueron los duques de los horeos; por sus ducados en la tierra de Seir.

Dishon, Ezer, Dishan. These are the Horite chiefs, according to their clans, in the land of Seir.

31 ¶ Y los reyes que reinaron en la tierra de Edom, antes que reinara rey sobre los hijos de Israel, fueron estos:

And these are the kings who reigned in Edom before any king reigned over the Israelites:

32 B ela, hijo de Beor, reinó en Edom: y el nombre de su ciudad fue Dinaba.

Bela son of Beor reigned in Edom. And the name of his city was Dinhabah.

33 Y murió Bela, y reinó por él Jobab, hijo de Zera, de Bosra.

Now Bela died, and Jobab son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.

34 Y murió Jobab, y reinó por él Husam, de tierra de Temán.

Then Jobab died, and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead.

35 Y murió Husam, y reinó por él Hadad, hijo de Bedad, el que hirió a Madián en el campo de Moab; y el nombre de su ciudad fue Avit.

And Husham died, and Hadad son of Bedad, who defeated Midian in the country of Moab, reigned in his stead. The name of his city was Avith.

36 Y murió Hadad, y reinó por él Samla, de Masreca.

Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah succeeded him.

37 Y murió Samla, y reinó en su lugar Saúl, de Rehobot del Río.

Then Samlah died, and Shaul of Rehoboth on the river reigned in his stead.

38 Y murió Saúl, y reinó por él Baal-hanán, hijo de Acbor.

And Shaul died, and Baal-hanan son of Achbor reigned in his stead.

39 Y murió Baal-hanán, hijo de Acbor, y reinó por él Hadar en lugar suyo; y el nombre de su ciudad fue Pau; y el nombre de su mujer Mehetabel, hija de Matred, hija de Mezaab.

Baal-hanan son of Achbor died, and then Hadar reigned. His city was Pau; his wife’s name was Mehetabel daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.

40 E stos, pues, son los nombres de los duques de Esaú por sus linajes y sus lugares por sus nombres: el duque Timna, el duque Alva, el duque Jetet,

And these are the names of the chiefs of Esau, according to their families and places of residence, by their names: Chiefs Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,

41 E l duque Aholibama, el duque Ela, el duque Pinón,

Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon,

42 E l duque Cenaz, el duque Temán, el duque Mibzar,

Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar,

43 E l duque Magdiel, y el duque Iram. Estos fueron los duques de Edom por sus habitaciones en la tierra de su heredad. Este es el Esaú, padre de Edom.

Magdiel, and Iram. These are the chiefs of Edom, according to their dwelling places in their land.
