1 A nd these are the generations of Esau, that is Edom.

Now this is the history of the descendants of Esau, that is, Edom.

2 E sau took his wives of the daughters of Canaan: Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah the daughter of Anah, daughter of Zibeon the Hivite,

3 a nd Basmath Ishmael's daughter, the sister of Nebaioth.

4 A nd Adah bore to Esau Eliphaz; and Basmath bore Reuel.

5 A nd Oholibamah bore Jeush and Jaalam and Korah. These are the sons of Esau that were born to him in the land of Canaan.

And Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. These are the sons of Esau born to him in Canaan.

6 A nd Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the souls of his house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all his possessions, that he had acquired in the land of Canaan, and went into a country away from his brother Jacob.

Now Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the members of his household, his cattle, all his beasts, and all his possessions which he had obtained in the land of Canaan, and he went into a land away from his brother Jacob.

7 F or their property was too great for them to dwell together, and the land where they were sojourners could not bear them, because of their cattle.

For their great flocks and herds and possessions made it impossible for them to dwell together; the land in which they were strangers could not support them because of their livestock.

8 T hus Esau dwelt in mount Seir; Esau is Edom.

So Esau dwelt in the hill country of Seir; Esau is Edom.

9 A nd these are the generations of Esau, the father of Edom, in mount Seir.

And this is the history of the descendants of Esau the father of the Edomites in the hill country of Seir.

10 T hese are the names of Esau's sons: Eliphaz, the son of Adah the wife of Esau; Reuel, the son of Basmath the wife of Esau.

11 — And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.

12 A nd Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esau's son, and she bore Amalek to Eliphaz. These are the sons of Adah Esau's wife.

13 — And these are the sons of Reuel: Nahath and Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah. These are the sons of Basmath Esau's wife.

19 T hese are the sons of Esau, and these their chiefs: he is Edom.

20 T hese are the sons of Seir the Horite, the inhabitant of the land: Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah,

24 — And these are the sons of Zibeon: both Ajah and Anah. This is the Anah that found the warm springs in the wilderness as he fed the asses of Zibeon his father.

25 — And these are the sons of Anah: Dishon, and Oholibamah the daughter of Anah.

26 — And these are the sons of Dishon: Hemdan, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.

27 — These are the sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Zaavan, and Akan.

36 A nd Hadad died; and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.

38 A nd Saul died; and Baal-hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.

39 A nd Baal-hanan the son of Achbor died; and Hadar reigned in his stead; and the name of his city was Pau; and his wife's name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred daughter of Mezahab.
