1 I will extol thee, my God, O King, and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.

3 G reat is Jehovah, and exceedingly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

4 O ne generation shall laud thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

One generation shall laud Your works to another and shall declare Your mighty acts.

5 I will speak of the glorious splendour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.

On the glorious splendor of Your majesty and on Your wondrous works I will meditate.

6 A nd they shall tell of the might of thy terrible acts; and thy great deeds will I declare.

Men shall speak of the might of Your tremendous and terrible acts, and I will declare Your greatness.

7 T hey shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.

They shall pour forth the fame of Your great and abundant goodness and shall sing aloud of Your rightness and justice.

8 J ehovah is gracious and merciful; slow to anger, and of great loving-kindness.

The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and abounding in mercy and loving-kindness.

9 J ehovah is good to all; and his tender mercies are over all his works.

The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.

10 A ll thy works shall praise thee, Jehovah, and thy saints shall bless thee.

All Your works shall praise You, O Lord, and Your loving ones shall bless You!

11 T hey shall tell of the glory of thy kingdom, and speak of thy power;

They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom and talk of Your power,

12 T o make known to the children of men his mighty acts, and the glorious splendour of his kingdom.

To make known to the sons of men God’s mighty deeds and the glorious majesty of His kingdom.

13 T hy kingdom is a kingdom of all ages, and thy dominion is throughout all generations.

Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures throughout all generations.

14 J ehovah upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all that are bowed down.

The Lord upholds all those who are falling and raises up all those who are bowed down.

15 T he eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their food in its season.

The eyes of all wait for You and You give them their food in due season.

16 T hou openest thy hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.

You open Your hand and satisfy every living thing with favor.

17 J ehovah is righteous in all his ways, and kind in all his works.

The Lord is righteous in all His ways and gracious and merciful in all His works.

18 J ehovah is nigh unto all that call upon him, unto all that call upon him in truth.

The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him sincerely and in truth.

19 H e fulfilleth the desire of them that fear him; he heareth their cry, and saveth them.

He will fulfill the desires of those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him; He also will hear their cry and will save them.

20 J ehovah keepeth all that love him, and all the wicked will he destroy.

The Lord preserves all those who love Him, but all the wicked will He destroy.

21 M y mouth shall speak the praise of Jehovah; and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.

My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord; and let all flesh bless (affectionately and gratefully praise) His holy name forever and ever.
