1 T hus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not revoke its sentence; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime.

2 A nd I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kerijoth; and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, with the sound of the trumpet.

3 A nd I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all the princes thereof with him, saith Jehovah.

4 T hus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not revoke its sentence; because they have despised the law of Jehovah, and have not kept his statutes; and their lies have caused them to err, after which their fathers walked.
Thus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Judah and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because they have despised and rejected the law of the Lord and have not kept His commandments, but their lies, after which their fathers have walked, caused them to err and go astray.
5 A nd I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.

6 T hus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not revoke its sentence; because they have sold the righteous for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes;
Thus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Israel and for four, I will not reverse the punishment of it or revoke My word concerning it, because they have sold the just and uncompromisingly righteous for silver and the needy for a pair of sandals;
7 p anting after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turning aside the way of the meek; and a man and his father will go in unto the maid, to profane my holy name.
They pant after the poor dust of the earth on their heads; they defraud and turn aside the humble; and a man and his father will have sexual relations with the same maiden, so that My holy name is profaned.
8 A nd they lay down by every altar upon clothes taken in pledge, and they drink the house of their God the wine of the condemned.

11 A nd I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites. Is it not even thus, ye children of Israel? saith Jehovah.

12 A nd ye gave the Nazarites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not.

13 B ehold, I will press upon you, as a cart presseth that is full of sheaves.
Behold, I am pressed under you and I will press you down in your place as a cart presses that is full of sheaves.
14 A nd flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty deliver his soul.
And flight shall be lost to the swift and refuge shall fail him; the strong shall not retain and confirm his strength, neither shall the mighty deliver himself.
15 N either shall he stand that handleth the bow; and the swift of foot shall not escape, and he that rideth the horse shall not deliver his soul;
Neither shall he stand who handles the bow, and he who is swift of foot shall not deliver himself; neither shall he who rides the horse deliver his life.
16 a nd he that is stout-hearted among the mighty shall flee away naked in that day, saith Jehovah.
And he who is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked on that day, says the Lord.
