1 J udge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation; deliver me from the deceitful and unrighteous man.
Judge and vindicate me, O God; plead and defend my cause against an ungodly nation. O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man!
2 F or thou art the God of my strength: why hast thou cast me off? why go I about mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
For You are the God of my strength; why have You cast me off? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
3 S end out thy light and thy truth: they shall lead me, they shall bring me to thy holy mount, and unto thy habitations.
O send out Your light and Your truth, let them lead me; let them bring me to Your holy hill and to Your dwelling.
4 T hen will I go unto the altar of God, unto the God of the gladness of my joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God, my God.
Then will I go to the altar of God, to God, my exceeding joy; yes, with the lyre will I praise You, O God, my God!
5 W hy art thou cast down, my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God; for I shall yet praise him, the health of my countenance, and my God.
Why are you cast down, O my inner self? And why should you moan over me and be disquieted within me? Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall yet praise Him, Who is the help of my countenance, and my God.
