1 G od standeth in the assembly of God, he judgeth among the gods.
God stands in the assembly of God; in the midst of the magistrates or judges He gives judgment among the gods.
2 H ow long will ye judge unrighteously, and accept the person of the wicked? Selah.
How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah!
3 J udge the poor and the fatherless, do justice to the afflicted and the destitute;
Do justice to the weak (poor) and fatherless; maintain the rights of the afflicted and needy.
4 R escue the poor and needy, deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.
Deliver the poor and needy; rescue them out of the hand of the wicked.
5 T hey know not, neither do they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are moved.

6 I have said, Ye are gods, and all of you are children of the Most High;
I said, You are gods; indeed, all of you are children of the Most High.
7 B ut ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
But you shall die as men and fall as one of the princes.
8 A rise, O God, judge the earth; for thou shalt inherit all the nations.
Arise, O God, judge the earth! For to You belong all the nations.
