God stands in the assembly of God; in the midst of the magistrates or judges He gives judgment among the gods.

2 F ino a quando giudicherete ingiustamente e prenderete le parti degli empi? (Sela)

How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah!

3 D ifendete il debole e l'orfano fate giustizia all'afflitto e al povero.

Do justice to the weak (poor) and fatherless; maintain the rights of the afflicted and needy.

4 L iberate il misero e il bisognoso; salvatelo dalla mano degli empi.

Deliver the poor and needy; rescue them out of the hand of the wicked.

5 E ssi non conoscono nulla e non intendono nulla, e camminano nelle tenebre tutti i fondamenti della terra sono smossi.

know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in the darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaking.

6 I o ho detto: «Voi siete dèi, siete tutti figli dell'Altissimo.

I said, You are gods; indeed, all of you are children of the Most High.

7 T uttavia voi morrete come gli altri uomini, e cadrete come ogni altro potente».

But you shall die as men and fall as one of the princes.

8 L evati, o DIO, giudica la terra, perché tu avrai in eredità tutte le nazioni.

Arise, O God, judge the earth! For to You belong all the nations.
