1 « Al maestro del coro. Cantico. Salmo» Mandate grida di gioia a DIO, voi tutti abitanti della terra;

Make a joyful noise unto God, all the earth;

2 i nneggiate alla gloria del suo nome; rendete la sua lode gloriosa.

Sing forth the honor and glory of His name; make His praise glorious!

3 D ite a DIO: «Come sono tremende le tue opere! Per la grandezza della tua potenza i tuoi nemici si sottometteranno a te.

Say to God, How awesome and fearfully glorious are Your works! Through the greatness of Your power shall Your enemies submit themselves to You.

4 T utta la terra ti adorerà e canterà a te, canterà le lodi del tuo nome». (Sela)

All the earth shall bow down to You and sing to You; they shall praise Your name in song. Selah!

5 V enite e ammirate ciò che DIO ha fatto; egli è tremendo nelle sue opere verso i figli degli uomini.

Come and see the works of God; see how terrible in His doings toward the children of men.

6 E gli cambiò il mare in terra asciutta; il suo popolo passò il fiume a piedi asciutti, rallegriamoci dunque in lui.

He turned the sea into dry land, they crossed through the river on foot; there did we rejoice in Him.

7 C on la sua potenza egli regna in eterno; i suoi occhi osservano le nazioni. Non permettere che i ribelli si innalzino. (Sela)

He rules by His might forever, His eyes observe and keep watch over the nations; let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah!

8 V oi popoli, benedite il nostro DIO; e proclamate ad alta voce la sua lode.

Bless our God, O peoples, give Him grateful thanks and make the voice of His praise be heard,

9 E gli è colui che ci mantiene in vita, e non permette che i nostri piedi vacillino.

Who put and kept us among the living, and has not allowed our feet to slip.

10 P oiché tu ci hai messi alla prova, o DIO, tu ci hai raffinati come si raffina l'argento.

For You, O God, have proved us; You have tried us as silver is tried, refined, and purified.

11 C i hai fatti cadere nella rete, hai posto un grave peso sui nostri lombi.

You brought us into the net (the prison fortress, the dungeon); You laid a heavy burden upon our loins.

12 H ai fatto cavalcare gli uomini sul nostro capo, siamo passati attraverso il fuoco e l'acqua, ma tu ci hai tratto fuori in luogo di refrigerio.

You caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water, but You brought us out into a broad, moist place.

13 I o entrerò nella tua casa con olocausti, adempirò i miei voti

I will come into Your house with burnt offerings; I will pay You my vows,

14 c he le mie labbra hanno formulato e la mia bocca ha pronunziato quando ero nell'avversità.

Which my lips uttered and my mouth promised when I was in distress.

15 T i offrirò olocausti di bestie grasse, col soave odore di montoni; sacrificherò buoi e capri. (Sela)

I will offer to You burnt offerings of fat lambs, with rams consumed in sweet-smelling smoke; I will offer bullocks and he-goats. Selah!

16 V enite e ascoltate, voi tutti che temete DIO, e io vi racconterò quel che egli ha fatto per l'anima mia.

Come and hear, all you who reverently and worshipfully fear God, and I will declare what He has done for me!

17 H o gridato a lui con la mia bocca e l'ho esaltato con la mia lingua.

I cried aloud to Him; He was extolled and high praise was under my tongue.

18 S e avessi serbato del male nel mio cuore, il Signore non mi avrebbe dato ascolto.

If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me;

19 M a DIO mi ha ascoltato e ha prestato attenzione alla voce della mia preghiera.

But certainly God has heard me; He has given heed to the voice of my prayer.

20 S ia benedetto DIO, che non ha respinto la mia preghiera e non mi ha negato la sua benignità.

Blessed be God, Who has not rejected my prayer nor removed His mercy and loving-kindness from being with me.
