1 A llora l'Eterno disse a Noè: «Entra nell'arca tu con tutta la tua famiglia, perché ti ho visto giusto davanti a me, in questa generazione.

And the Lord said to Noah, Come with all your household into the ark, for I have seen you to be righteous (upright and in right standing) before Me in this generation.

2 D i ogni specie di animali puri prendine sette coppie, maschio e femmina; e degli animali impuri una coppia, maschio e femmina;

Of every clean beast you shall receive and take with you seven pairs, the male and his mate, and of beasts that are not clean a pair of each kind, the male and his mate,

3 a nche degli uccelli del cielo prendine sette coppie, maschio e femmina, per conservarne in vita il seme sulla faccia di tutta la terra;

Also of the birds of the air seven pairs, the male and the female, to keep seed alive over all the earth or land.

4 p oiché fra sette giorni farò piovere sulla terra per quaranta giorni e quaranta notti, e sterminerò dalla faccia della terra tutti gli esseri viventi che ho fatto».

For in seven days I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights, and every living substance and thing that I have made I will destroy, blot out, and wipe away from the face of the earth.

5 N oè fece esattamente tutto ciò che l'Eterno gli aveva comandato.

And Noah did all that the Lord commanded him.

6 N oè aveva seicento anni quando venne sulla terra il diluvio delle acque.

Noah was 600 years old when the flood of waters came upon the earth or land.

7 C osì Noè entrò nell'arca con i suoi figli, sua moglie e le mogli dei suoi figli, a motivo delle acque del diluvio.

And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him went into the ark because of the waters of the flood.

8 D egli animali puri e degli animali impuri, degli uccelli e di tutto quello che striscia sulla terra,

Of clean animals and of animals that are not clean, and of birds and fowls, and of everything that creeps on the ground,

9 v ennero a due a due da Noè, nell'arca. maschio e femmina, come DIO aveva comandato a Noè.

There went in two and two with Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.

10 A l termine dei sette giorni, avvenne che le acque del diluvio furono sopra la terra.

And after the seven days the floodwaters came upon the earth or land.

11 N ell'anno seicentesimo della vita di Noè nel secondo mese, nel diciassettesimo giorno del mese, in quel giorno, tutte le Fonti del grande abisso scoppiarono e le cateratte del cielo si aprirono.

In the year 600 of Noah’s life, in the seventeenth day of the second month, that same day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up and burst forth, and the windows and floodgates of the heavens were opened.

12 E piovve sulla terra per quaranta giorni e quaranta notti.

And it rained upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

13 I n quello stesso giorno entrarono nell'arca Noè e i figli di Noè, Sem, Cam e Jafet, e la moglie di Noè e le tre mogli dei suoi figli con loro;

On the very same day Noah and Shem, Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them, went into the ark,

14 e ssi e tutte le fiere secondo la loro specie, e tutto il bestiame secondo la loro specie, e tutti i rettili che strisciano sulla terra secondo la loro specie, e tutti gli uccelli secondo la loro specie, tutti gli uccelli di ogni sorta.

They and every beast according to its kind, all the livestock according to their kinds, every moving thing that creeps on the land according to its kind, and every fowl according to its kind, every winged thing of every sort.

15 Q uesti vennero da Noè, nell'arca, a due a due, di ogni carne in cui vi è alito di vita;

And they went into the ark with Noah, two and two of all flesh in which there were the breath and spirit of life.

16 e ntrarono maschio e femmina di ogni carne, come DIO aveva comandato a Noè; poi l'Eterno li chiuse dentro.

And they that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded; and the Lord shut him in and closed round about him.

17 E il diluvio venne sopra la terra per quaranta giorni; e le acque crebbero e sollevarono l'arca, che si alzò in alto sopra la terra.

The flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased and bore up the ark, and it was lifted above the land.

18 L e acque ingrossarono e crebbero grandemente sopra la terra e l'arca galleggiava sulla superficie delle acque.

And the waters became mighty and increased greatly upon the land, and the ark went upon the surface of the waters.

19 E le acque ingrossarono con grande forza sopra la terra; e tutte le alte montagne che erano sotto tutto il cielo furono coperte.

And the waters prevailed so exceedingly and were so mighty upon the earth that all the high hills under the whole sky were covered.

20 L e acque si alzarono quindici cubiti al di sopra di esse; e le montagne furono coperte.

the waters became fifteen cubits higher, as the high hills were covered.

21 C osì perì ogni carne che si muoveva sulla terra: uccelli, bestiame, fiere, rettili di ogni sorta striscianti sulla terra e tutti gli uomini.

And all flesh ceased to breathe that moved upon the earth—fowls and birds, animals, beasts, all swarming and creeping things that swarm and creep upon the land, and all mankind.

22 T utto quello che era sulla terra asciutta ed aveva alito di vita nelle sue narici morì.

Everything on the dry land in whose nostrils were the breath and spirit of life died.

23 E tutti gli esseri viventi che erano sulla faccia della terra furono sterminati: dall'uomo fino al bestiame ai rettili e agli uccelli del cielo; essi furono sterminati dalla terra e non scampò che Noè con quelli che erano con lui nell'arca.

God destroyed (blotted out) every living thing that was upon the face of the earth; man and animals and the creeping things and the birds of the heavens were destroyed (blotted out) from the land. Only Noah remained alive, and those who were with him in the ark.

24 E le acque copersero la terra per centocinquanta giorni.

And the waters prevailed upon the earth or land 150 days (five months).
