1 P oi mi condusse alla porta, la porta che guarda a est.

Afterward the man brought me to the gate, the gate that faces east.

2 E d ecco, la gloria del DIO d'Israele, veniva dall'est. La sua voce era come il rumore di molte acque e la terra risplendeva della sua gloria.

And behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the east and His voice was like the sound of many waters, and the earth shone with His glory.

3 L a visione che vidi nell'aspetto era simile alla visione che vidi quando andai per distruggere la città, la visione era simile alle visioni che vidi presso il fiume Kebar; io caddi sulla mia faccia.

And the vision which I saw was like the vision I had seen when I came to foretell the destruction of the city and like the vision I had seen beside the river Chebar; and I fell on my face.

4 E la gloria dell'Eterno entrò nel tempio per la porta che guarda a est.

And the glory of the Lord entered the temple by the gate facing east.

5 Q uindi lo Spirito mi levò in alto e mi portò nel cortile interno; ed ecco, la gloria dell'Eterno riempiva il tempio.

Then the Spirit caught me up and brought me into the inner court, and behold, the glory of the Lord filled the temple.

6 A llora udii uno che mi parlava dal tempio, mentre un uomo stava in piedi accanto a me,

And I heard One speaking to me out of the temple, and a Man stood by me.

7 e mi disse: «Figlio d'uomo, questo è il luogo del mio trono e il luogo delle piante dei miei piedi, dove abiterò in mezzo ai figli d'Israele per sempre. E la casa d'Israele non contaminerà piú il mio santo nome, né essi né i loro re, con le loro prostituzioni e con i cadaveri dei loro re sui loro alti luoghi,

And He said to me, Son of man, this is the place of My throne and the place of the soles of My feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel forever; and My holy name the house of Israel shall no more profane, neither they nor their kings, by their harlotry, nor by the dead bodies and monuments of their kings,

8 m ettendo la loro soglia accanto alla mia soglia e i loro stipiti accanto ai miei stipiti, con solamente una parete fra me e loro, contaminando cosí il mio santo nome con le abominazioni che commettevano; perciò nella mia ira li ho distrutti.

Nor by setting their threshold by My thresholds and their doorposts by My doorposts, with a mere wall between Me and them. They have profaned My holy name by their abominations which they have committed; therefore I have consumed them in My anger.

9 O ra allontaneranno da me le loro prostituzioni e i cadaveri dei loro re, e io abiterò in mezzo a loro per sempre.

Now let them put away their harlotry and the dead bodies and monuments of their kings far from Me, and I will dwell in their midst forever.

10 T u, figlio d'uomo, descrivi il tempio alla casa d'Israele, perché si vergognino delle loro iniquità. Ne misurino le dimensioni

Son of man, show the temple by your description of it to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities; and let them measure accurately its appearance and plan.

11 e , se si vergognano di tutto ciò che hanno fatto, fa' loro conoscere il modello del tempio e la sua disposizione, le sue uscite e i suoi ingressi l'intero suo modello e tutti i suoi statuti, tutte le sue forme e tutte le sue leggi; mettili per iscritto sotto i loro occhi affinché osservino l'intero suo modello e tutti i suoi statuti e li mettano in pratica.

And if they are ashamed of all that they have done, make known to them the form of the temple and the arrangement of it—its exits and its entrances and the whole form of it—all its ordinances and all its forms and all its laws. And write it down in their sight so that they may keep the whole form of it and all the ordinances of it and do them.

12 Q uesta è la legge del tempio. Tutto il territorio che sta attorno alla sommità del monte sarà santissimo. Ecco, questa è la legge del tempio.

This is the law of the house: The whole area round about on the top of the mountain shall be most holy, separated, and set apart. Behold, this is the law of the house.

13 Q ueste sono le misure dell'altare in cubiti (il cubito è un cubito e un palmo): la base ha un cubito d'altezza e un cubito di larghezza, con un orlo lungo tutto il suo bordo di una spanna. Questa e l'altezza dell'altare:

And these are the measurements of the altar in cubits. The cubit is a royal cubit; the bottom or gutter shall be a cubit deep and a cubit wide, with a rim or lip round about it of a span’s breadth. And this shall be the height of the altar:

14 d alla base a terra fino alla piattaforma inferiore ci sono due cubiti; la piattaforma è larga un cubito; dalla piattaforma più piccola alla piattaforma più grande ci sono quattro cubiti; la piattaforma è larga un cubito.

From the bottom or gutter on the ground to the lower ledge or brim shall be two cubits, and the breadth one cubit; and from the lesser ledge to the greater ledge shall be four cubits, and the breadth one cubit.

15 I l focolare dell'altare è alto quattro cubiti, e dal focolare dell'altare si elevano quattro corni.

And the altar hearth shall be four cubits high, and from the altar hearth reaching upward there shall be four horns one cubit high.

16 I l focolare dell'altare è lungo dodici cubiti e largo dodici cubiti, cioè un quadrato perfetto.

And the altar hearth shall be square—twelve cubits long, twelve broad, square in its four sides.

17 L a piattaforma superiore nei suoi quattro lati è lunga quattordici cubiti e larga quattordici, con un orlo intorno di mezzo cubito; i suoi gradini guardano a est».

And the ledge shall be fourteen cubits long and fourteen cubits broad on its four sides, and the border about it shall be half a cubit; and its bottom or gutter shall be a cubit deep and wide, and its ascent shall face the east.

18 Q uindi mi disse: «Figlio d'uomo, cosí dice il Signore l'Eterno: Questi sono gli statuti per l'altare quando sarà costruito per offrirvi gli olocausti e spruzzarvi sopra il sangue.

And said to me, Son of man, thus says the Lord God: These are the regulations for the use of the altar in the day that it is erected, upon which to offer burnt offerings and to sprinkle blood against it:

19 A i sacerdoti levitici che sono della stirpe di Tsadok, i quali si avvicinano a me per servirmi». dice il Signore, l'Eterno, «tu darai un torello in sacrificio per il peccato.

You shall give to the priests, the Levites who are of the offspring of Zadok, who are near to Me to minister to Me, says the Lord God, a young bull for a sin offering.

20 P renderai un po' del suo sangue e lo metterai sui quattro corni dell'altare, sui quattro angoli della piattaforma e tutt'intorno sull'orlo; cosí lo purificherai e farai l'espiazione per esso.

And you shall take of its blood and put it on the four horns of and on the four corners of the ledge and on the rim or border round about. Thus shall you cleanse and make atonement for.

21 P oi prenderai il torello del sacrificio per il peccato, e lo si brucerà in un luogo designato del tempio, fuori del santuario.

You shall also take the bullock of the sin offering, and it shall be burned in the appointed place of the temple, outside the sacred enclosure.

22 I l secondo giorno offrirai in sacrificio per il peccato un capro senza difetto, e con esso si purificherà l'altare come lo si è purificato col torello.

And on the second day you shall offer a male goat without blemish for a sin offering. Thus the altar shall be cleansed, as it was cleansed with the bullock.

23 T erminata la sua purificazione, offrirai un torello senza difetto e un montone del gregge senza difetto.

When you have finished cleansing it, you shall offer a young bull without blemish and a ram out of the flock without blemish.

24 L i presenterai davanti all'Eterno, e i sacerdoti getteranno su di loro il sale e li offriranno in olocausto all'Eterno.

And you shall bring them near before the Lord, and the priests shall cast salt upon them and they shall offer them up for a burnt offering to the Lord.

25 P er sette giorni offrirai ogni giorno un capro in sacrificio per il peccato; verrà pure offerto un torello e un montone del gregge, entrambi senza difetto.

Seven days you shall prepare every day a goat for a sin offering; also a young bull and a ram out of the flock, without blemish, shall be prepared.

26 P er sette giorni si farà l'espiazione per l'altare lo si purificherà e lo si consacrerà.

For seven days shall they make atonement for the altar and purify it; so the priests shall consecrate, separate, and set it apart to receive offerings.

27 T erminati questi giorni, dall'ottavo giorno in poi, i sacerdoti offriranno sull'altare i vostri olocausti e i vostri sacrifici di ringraziamento, e io vi gradirò», dice il Signore, l'Eterno.

And when these days have been accomplished, on the eighth day and from then on, the priests shall offer your burnt offerings upon the altar and your peace offerings; and I will accept you, says the Lord God.
