1 А оце нащадки Ісава, цебто Едома.

Now this is the history of the descendants of Esau, that is, Edom.

2 І сав узяв жінок своїх з дочок ханаанських, Аду, дочку Елона хіттеянина, та Оголіваму, дочку Ани, дочку Ців'она хівеянина,

Esau took his wives from the women of Canaan: Adah daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah daughter of Anah, the son of Zibeon the Hivite,

3 т а Босмат, дочку Ізмаїлову, сестру Невайотову.

And Basemath, Ishmael’s daughter, sister of Nebaioth.

4 І породила Ада Ісавові Еліфаза, а Босмат породила Реуїла,

Adah bore to Esau, Eliphaz; Basemath bore Reuel;

5 а Оголівама породила Суша, і Ялама, і Кораха. Оце сини Ісавові, що були йому народжені в ханаанській землі.

And Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. These are the sons of Esau born to him in Canaan.

6 І взяв Ісав жінок своїх, і синів своїх, і дочок своїх, і всі душі дому свого, і худобу свою, і все стадо своє, і все своє майно, що набув у ханаанській землі, та й пішов до Краю від обличчя Якова, брата свого,

Now Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the members of his household, his cattle, all his beasts, and all his possessions which he had obtained in the land of Canaan, and he went into a land away from his brother Jacob.

7 б о маєток їх був більший, щоб пробувати їм разом, і край їх часового замешкання не міг вмістити їх через їхню худобу.

For their great flocks and herds and possessions made it impossible for them to dwell together; the land in which they were strangers could not support them because of their livestock.

8 І осівся Ісав на горі Сеїр, Ісав він Едом.

So Esau dwelt in the hill country of Seir; Esau is Edom.

9 А оце нащадки Ісава, батька Едому на горі Сеїр.

And this is the history of the descendants of Esau the father of the Edomites in the hill country of Seir.

10 О це ймення синів Ісавових: Еліфаз, син Ади, жінки Ісавової, Реуїл, син Босмати, Ісавової жінки.

These are the names of Esau’s sons: Eliphaz, the son of Adah, Esau’s wife, and Reuel, the son of Basemath, Esau’s wife.

11 А сини Еліфазові були: Теман, Омар, Цефо, і Ґатам, і Кеназ.

And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.

12 А Тимна була наложниця Еліфаза, Ісавового сина, і породила вона Еліфазові Амалика. Оце сини Ади, Ісавової жінки.

And Timna was a concubine of Eliphaz, Esau’s son; and she bore Amalek to Eliphaz. These are the sons of Adah, Esau’s wife.

13 А оце сини Реуїлові: Нагат і Зера, Шамма й Мізза. Оце сини Босмати, Ісавової жінки.

These are the sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These are the sons of Basemath, Esau’s wife.

14 А оці були сини Оголівами, дочки Ани, дочки Ців'она, Ісавової жінки, і вродила вона Ісаву, Єуша, і Ялама, і Корея.

And these are the sons of Oholibamah daughter of Anah, the son of Zibeon, Esau’s wife. She bore to Esau: Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.

15 А оце провідники Ісавових синів. Сини Еліфаза, Ісавового перворідного: провідник Теман, провідник Омар, провідник Цефо, провідник Кеназ,

These are the chiefs of the sons of Esau: The sons of Eliphaz the firstborn of Esau: Chiefs Teman, Omar, Zepho, Kenaz,

16 п ровідник Корей, провідник Ґатам, провідник Амалик. Оце провідники Еліфаза в краю Едома, оце сини Ади.

Korah, Gatam, and Amalek. These are the chiefs of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; they are the sons of Adah.

17 А оце сини Реуїла, Ісавового сина: провідник Нагат, провідник Зерах, провідник Шамма, провідник Мізза. Оце провідники Реуїлові в краю едомському, оце сини Босмати, Ісавової жінки.

These are the sons of Reuel, Esau’s son: Chiefs Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, Mizzah. These are the chiefs of Reuel in the land of Edom; they are the sons of Basemath, Esau’s wife.

18 А оце сини Оголівами, жінки Ісава: провідник Еуш, провідник Ялам, провідник Корей, оце провідники Оголівами, дочки Ани, Ісавової жінки.

These are the sons of Oholibamah, Esau’s wife: Chiefs Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. These are the chiefs born of Oholibamah daughter of Anah, Esau’s wife.

19 О це сини Ісава, цебто Едома, і оце їхні провідники.

These are the sons of Esau, that is, Edom, and these are their chiefs.

20 О це сини Сеїра, хореянина, мешканці цієї землі: Лотан і Шовал, і Ців'он, і Ана,

These are the sons of Seir the Horite, the inhabitants of the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,

21 і Дішон, і Ецев, і Дішан, оце провідники хореянина, сини Сеїру, краю едомського.

Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. These are the chiefs of the Horites, the sons of Seir in the land of Edom.

22 А сини Лотана були: Хорі й Гемам, а Лотанова сестра Тимна.

The sons of Lotan are Hori and Hemam; and Lotan’s sister is Timna.

23 А оце сини Шовалові: Алван і Манахат, і Евал, Шефо, і Онам.

The sons of Shobal are these: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.

24 А ото сини Ців'онові: і Айя, і Ана, той Ана, що знайшов був в пустині гарячі джерела, коли пас осли Ців'она, свого батька.

These are the sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah. This is the Anah who found the hot springs in the wilderness as he pastured the donkeys of Zibeon his father.

25 А оце діти Ани: Дішон, і Оголівама, дочка Ани.

The children of Anah are these: Dishon and Oholibamah daughter of Anah.

26 А оце сини Дішонові: Хемдан, і Ешбан, і Ітран, і Керан.

These are the sons of Dishon: Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran.

27 О то сини Ецера: Білган, і Зааван, і Акан.

Ezer’s sons are these: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan.

28 О це сини Дішана: Уц і Аран.

The sons of Dishan are these: Uz and Aran.

29 О це провідники хореянина: провідник Лотан, провідник Шовал, провідник Ців'он, провідник Ана,

The Horite chiefs are these: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,

30 п ровідник Дішон, провідник Ецер, провідник Дішан, оце провідники хореянина за їхніми провідниками в краї Сеїр.

Dishon, Ezer, Dishan. These are the Horite chiefs, according to their clans, in the land of Seir.

31 А оце царі, що царювали в краю Едома перед царюванням царя в синів Ізраїлевих.

And these are the kings who reigned in Edom before any king reigned over the Israelites:

32 І царював в Едомі Бела, син Беора, а ймення його міста Дінгава.

Bela son of Beor reigned in Edom. And the name of his city was Dinhabah.

33 І вмер Бела, і зацарював замість нього Йовав, син Зераха з Боцри.

Now Bela died, and Jobab son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.

34 І вмер Йовав, і зацарював замість нього Хушам із землі теманіянина.

Then Jobab died, and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead.

35 І вмер Хушам, і зацарював замість нього Гадад, син Бедада, що побив мідіян на полі Моава, а ймення його міста Авіт.

And Husham died, and Hadad son of Bedad, who defeated Midian in the country of Moab, reigned in his stead. The name of his city was Avith.

36 І вмер Гадад, і зацарював замість нього Самла з Машеку.

Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah succeeded him.

37 І вмер Самла, і зацарював замість нього Саул з Реховоту надрічного.

Then Samlah died, and Shaul of Rehoboth on the river reigned in his stead.

38 І вмер Саул, і зацарював замість нього Баал-Ханан, син Ахборів.

And Shaul died, and Baal-hanan son of Achbor reigned in his stead.

39 І вмер Баал-Ханан, син Ахборів, і зацарював замість нього Гадад, а ім'я його міста Пау, а ім'я його жінки Мегетав'іл, дочка Матреди, дочки Ме-Загава.

Baal-hanan son of Achbor died, and then Hadar reigned. His city was Pau; his wife’s name was Mehetabel daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.

40 А оце імена провідників Ісавових за їхніми родами, за місцями їх, їхніми іменами: провідник Тимна, провідник Алва, провідник Етет,

And these are the names of the chiefs of Esau, according to their families and places of residence, by their names: Chiefs Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,

41 п ровідник Оголівама, провідник Ела, провідник Пінон,

Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon,

42 п ровідник Кеназ, провідник Теман, провідник Мівцар,

Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar,

43 п ровідник Маґдіїл, провідник Ірам. Оце провідники Едома він же Ісав, батько Едому за їхніми оселями в краї їхнього володіння.

Magdiel, and Iram. These are the chiefs of Edom, according to their dwelling places in their land.
