1 І коли сьому печатку розкрив, німа тиша настала на небі десь на півгодини.

When He broke open the seventh seal, there was silence for about half an hour in heaven.

2 І я бачив сімох Анголів, що стояли перед Богом. І дано було їм сім сурем.

Then I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets.

3 І прийшов другий Ангол, та й став перед жертівником із золотою кадильницею. І було йому дано багато кадила, щоб до молитов усіх святих додав на золотого жертівника, що перед престолом.

And another angel came and stood over the altar. He had a golden censer, and he was given very much incense (fragrant spices and gums which exhale perfume when burned), that he might mingle it with the prayers of all the people of God (the saints) upon the golden altar before the throne.

4 І знявся дим кадильний з молитвами святих від руки Ангола перед Бога.

And the smoke of the incense (the perfume) arose in the presence of God, with the prayers of the people of God (the saints), from the hand of the angel.

5 А Ангол кадильницю взяв, і наповнив її огнем із жертівника, та й кинув на землю. І зчинилися громи, і гуркотнява, і блискавиці та трясіння землі...

So the angel took the censer and filled it with fire from the altar and cast it upon the earth. Then there followed peals of thunder and loud rumblings and blasts and noises, and flashes of lightning and an earthquake.

6 І сім Анголів, що мали сім сурем, приготувалися, щоб сурмити.

Then the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to sound them.

7 І засурмив перший Ангол, і вчинилися град та огонь, перемішані з кров'ю, і впали на землю. І спалилась третина землі, і згоріла третина дерев, і всіляка зелена трава погоріла...

The first angel blew trumpet, and there was a storm of hail and fire mingled with blood cast upon the earth. And a third part of the earth was burned up and a third of the trees was burned up and all the green grass was burned up.

8 І засурмив другий Ангол, і немов би велика гора, розпалена огнем, була вкинена в море. І третина моря зробилася кров'ю,

The second angel blew trumpet, and something resembling a great mountain, blazing with fire, was hurled into the sea.

9 і померла третина морського створіння, що мають життя, і загинула третина кораблів...

And a third of the sea was turned to blood, a third of the living creatures in the sea perished, and a third of the ships were destroyed.

10 І засурмив третій Ангол, і велика зоря спала з неба, палаючи, як смолоскип. І спала вона на третину річок та на водні джерела.

The third angel blew trumpet, and a huge star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it dropped on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water—

11 А ймення зорі тій Полин. І стала третина води, як полин, і багато з людей повмирали з води, бо згіркла вона...

And the name of the star is Wormwood. A third part of the waters was changed into wormwood, and many people died from using the water, because it had become bitter.

12 І засурмив Ангол четвертий, і вдарено третину сонця, і третину місяця, і третину зір, щоб затьмилася їхня третина, щоб третина дня не світила, так само ж і ніч...

Then the fourth angel blew trumpet, and a third of the sun was smitten, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them was darkened, and a third of the daylight was withdrawn, and likewise a third of the night was kept from shining.

13 І бачив, і чув я одного орла, що летів серед неба і кликав гучним голосом: Горе, горе, горе тим, хто живе на землі, від голосів сурмових позосталих трьох Анголів, що мають сурмити!...

Then I saw a solitary eagle flying in midheaven, and as it flew I heard it crying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe to those who dwell on the earth, because of the rest of the trumpet blasts which the three angels are about to sound!
