1 Д ля дириґетна хору. Псалом Давидів. (51-3) Помилуй мене, Боже, з великої милости Твоєї, і з великого милосердя Свого загладь беззаконня мої!

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your steadfast love; according to the multitude of Your tender mercy and loving-kindness blot out my transgressions.

2 ( 51-4) Обмий мене зовсім з мого беззаконня, й очисти мене від мого гріха,

Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and guilt and cleanse me and make me wholly pure from my sin!

3 ( 51-5) бо свої беззаконня я знаю, а мій гріх передо мною постійно.

For I am conscious of my transgressions and I acknowledge them; my sin is ever before me.

4 ( 51-6) Тобі, одному Тобі я згрішив, і перед очима Твоїми лукаве вчинив, тому справедливий Ти будеш у мові Своїй, бездоганний у суді Своїм.

Against You, You only, have I sinned and done that which is evil in Your sight, so that You are justified in Your sentence and faultless in Your judgment.

5 ( 51-7) Отож я в беззаконні народжений, і в гріху зачала мене мати моя.

Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity; my mother was sinful who conceived me.

6 ( 51-8) Ото, полюбив єси правду в глибинах, і в таємних речах виявляєш премудрість мені.

Behold, You desire truth in the inner being; make me therefore to know wisdom in my inmost heart.

7 ( 51-9) Очисти ісопом мене, і буду я чистий, обмий Ти мене і я стану біліший від снігу.

Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

8 ( 51-10) Дай почути мені втіху й радість, і радітимуть кості, що Ти покрушив.

Make me to hear joy and gladness and be satisfied; let the bones which You have broken rejoice.

9 ( 51-11) Обличчя Своє заховай від гріхів моїх, і всі беззаконня мої позагладжуй.

Hide Your face from my sins and blot out all my guilt and iniquities.

10 ( 51-12) Серце чисте створи мені, Боже, і тривалого духа в моєму нутрі віднови.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me.

11 ( 51-13) Не відкинь мене від Свого лиця, й не бери Свого Духа Святого від мене.

Cast me not away from Your presence and take not Your Holy Spirit from me.

12 ( 51-14) Верни мені радість спасіння Твого, і з лагідним духом підтримай мене.

Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me with a willing spirit.

13 ( 51-15) Я буду навчати беззаконців доріг Твоїх, і навернуться грішні до Тебе.

Then will I teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners shall be converted and return to You.

14 ( 51-16) Визволь мене від переступу кровного, Боже, Боже спасіння мого, мій язик нехай славить Твою справедливість!

Deliver me from bloodguiltiness and death, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness (Your rightness and Your justice).

15 ( 51-17) Господи, відкрий мої уста, і язик мій звістить Тобі хвалу,

O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise.

16 ( 51-18) бо Ти жертви не прагнеш, а дам цілопалення, то не любе воно Тобі буде.

For You delight not in sacrifice, or else would I give it; You find no pleasure in burnt offering.

17 ( 51-19) Жертва Богові зламаний дух; серцем зламаним та упокореним Ти не погордуєш, Боже!

My sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, such, O God, You will not despise.

18 ( 51-20) Ущаслив Своїм благоволінням Сіон, збудуй мури для Єрусалиму,

Do good in Your good pleasure to Zion; rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.

19 ( 51-21) тоді Ти полюбиш Собі жертви правди, цілопалення та приношення, тоді покладуть на Твій вівтар тельців!

Then will You delight in the sacrifices of righteousness, justice, and right, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering; then bullocks will be offered upon Your altar.
