In Judah God is known and renowned; His name is highly praised and is great in Israel.

2 ( 76-3) У Салимі намет Його, а мешкання Його на Сіоні,

In Salem also is His tabernacle, and His dwelling place is in Zion.

3 ( 76-4) Він там поламав стріли луку, щита та меча, та війну! Села.

There He broke the bow’s flashing arrows, the shield, the sword, and the weapons of war. Selah!

4 ( 76-5) Ти осяйний, потужніший за гори відвічні.

Glorious and excellent are You from the mountains of prey.

5 ( 76-6) Обдерто людей сильносердих, задрімали вони своїм сном, і не знайшли своїх рук усі мужі військові...

The stouthearted are stripped of their spoil, they have slept the sleep; and none of the men of might could raise their hands.

6 ( 76-7) Від сваріння Твого, Боже Яковів, оглушується колесниця та кінь:

At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.

7 ( 76-8) Ти Ти грізний, і хто перед обличчям Твоїм устоїть часу гніву Твого?...

You, even You, are to be feared! Who may stand in Your presence when once Your anger is roused?

8 ( 76-9) Як звіщаєш Ти суд із небес, то боїться й стихає земля,

You caused sentence to be heard from heaven; the earth feared and was still—

9 ( 76-10) як встає Бог на суд, щоб спасти всіх покірних землі! Села.

When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek and oppressed of the earth. Selah!

10 ( 76-11) Бо й гнів людський Тебе вихваляє, решту ж гніву Ти поясом в'яжеш.

Surely the wrath of man shall praise You; the remainder of wrath shall You restrain and gird and arm Yourself with it.

11 ( 76-12) Присягайте й виконуйте Господу, Богові вашому, усі, хто Його оточає, хай приносять дарунка Грізному:

Vow and pay to the Lord your God; let all who are round about Him bring presents to Him Who ought to be feared.

12 ( 76-13) Він духа вельмож впокоряє, страшний Він для земних царів!

He will cut off the spirit of princes; He is terrible to the kings of the earth.
